The leather is very thick and hard and felt like wearing heavy boots. I would not recommend

I've worn Birkenstock Arizona sandals for 20 yrs and decided to try soft footbed - Sadly the quality in the shoe is not the quality I've known for so long- white glue all around the sole - one side ruched by the sole - hair stuck in footbed in the heel so disappointed returning -- hoping this is just a bad pair will look in a store. If could would have given 0 rating but only 1 was lowest

These are great shoes besides one caveat. Going off the size chart on Zappos, a size 44 was the right size for me. They fit well for about the first week before they got broken in; however, after they formed to my feet, my toes started sliding up and hitting the small walls providing much discomfort and annoyance. At this point, I can't return them, but I wouldn't have known I needed to return them until I wore them for a while and they were able to be broken in. I think a size 45 was what I really needed, but all I could go off of was the size chart. Next time, when it comes to a shoe like Birkenstock, I'll likely go in person to a shoe store and talk to a shoe expert so they can look at the fit and tell me how I can expect them to fit after wearing them for a while. I would recommend the same to you, it's too large of an expense to not get that expertise.

This sandal has a terrific stabilizing sole with great arch support. However, the leather straps are so rigid and stiff that they cut into my toe and made the top of my feet ache.

These are the most uncomfortable Birkenstocks I have ever owned. The leather is way too thick. I had difficulty getting the leather thru the buckles-because it was too thick and was too stiff. Very uncomfortable. Love the brown ones I ordered.

These do not look like the picture--I wanted multicolored. I ordered a second pair as I thought the first pair was a mistake--but the second pair is the same. Solid orange. No yellow, no green, no purple. The customer service guy at Zappos assured me they were multi-colored. I even told him that I did not want them if they were not multicolored. He said he would have the warehouse check first. Also the straps dug into my foot and were VERY uncomfortable. Fortunately returns at Zappos are easy except that refunds take longer than charges. Go figure. Zappos needs to post a picture that looks like the shoe you get. Usually Zappos is fabulous but this time missed the mark.

Decided to get these since Birkenstocks are suddenly in style. While I like the shoe alot, I made a huge mistake getting this particular leather (the black amalfi leather). The leather is too stiff, hasn't broken in/softened up at all despite a dozen attempts but has given me massive blisters even though the shoe fits normally rather loosely. This pair's only good for going to and from the car, no walking. I might re-order in suede if the style remains popular, but these were a mistake.

Need to return these. Straps are just way too big and I have a wide foot. Maybe these are for folks with a high arch? However, just love Zappos customer service!

I hate to spoil all the 5 star reviews but these shoes hurt! I know you have to break them in but I've been wearing them for 2 weeks and still my feet are in pain. My arches feel like I have billiard balls strapped to them and at night I lay in bed with horrible burning pain. I have flat feet, a fallen arch in the right foot (the tendon actually ruptured) and severe over-pronation problem. I bought them because of all the great reviews and kept them because I kept thinking they would get more comfortable after I broke them in, but the pain is still excruciating! So now I'm out the money and I still need some comfortable shoes for 2 weeks in Italy this summer.
