Use for work as a nurse in a daily basis. Very comfortable. I have several pairs of topo's and love them all.

Finally! An actual hiker with the Topo fit! Bought these for thru hiking so wanted more sturdy material and support than a trail runner but with the Topo toe box. Very pleased! And great customer support!

Finally, Topo's unique fit in a version more supportive and rugged than the trail runners! I have fallen arches/splay foot and have struggled to find a sturdy yet light hiker I can wear for long days on extended hikes without bruised toes...and the Traverse is it! Customer service is outstanding too, answering all my questions. Kudos to a great product and great company! In the future I'd love to see a WP hi-top hiking boot as well, and then my feet will be happy out on the trails year-round!

These are great hiking shoes! Only good things to say about the fit, feel, and durability. The green color shown is super inaccurate though - it looks like a kelly green online, but it's very much a seafoam green in real life. I will be loving and wearing the heck out of them but I was excited for the color and was left disappointed.

I like the wider toes on this shoe. However, the height of the toe box--not sure what this is called--was a bit too low for me. My little toe on the right foot was broken and is now crooked, and the top of the shoe was too tight against it. I'm going up half a size to see if that helps.

I love the Topos trail running shoes because of the arch support and cushioning. I use them for hiking, so I decided to try one of their hiking shoes. These were extremely comfortable but stiffer and had less cushion than the running shoes.

I really wanted these shoes to work for me, but the toe box volume was huge - it wasn't so much the width but the height of the toe box. My feet just flapped around inside the shoes so I had to return them.

This is partially a me-specific issue, but I really liked the old Topo style of wide toe boxes. This toe box doesn't feel particularly roomy, and the waterproof material doesn't have much give. That said, I love these for snowy trail runs! Would love if they came out in a wide width like they have for the non-waterproof version.

This is my first pair and if they had been just a midge bigger I would have kept them.

I love Topos for their great support and wide toe box. I have several other Topo models but this one is a little more rugged & suited more for hiking and/or trail running. I use them every day as a landscaper, on all kinds of terrain. The only reason I didn't give these a 5, is that the toebox feels tighter than my other Topos, leaving me to loosen the strings, which makes the shoestrings really short. I don't have wide feet but have had foot surgery and can't wear tight shoes. I'm hoping the next version of the Traverse will address this!

Very comfortable hiking shoe, even with wide toe box provides good support. Only drawback is the mesh material—on dry, dusty trails it allows quite a bit of dirt into the shoe. If one doesn’t mind dirt, the comfort is worth all the dirt between the toes.

I bought the Topo Traverse because I have Topo running shoes that I love for the roomy toe box fit and the out of the box comfort. These Traverse hikers are also comfortable out of the box and feel a bit stiffer than the running shoe but I think that's to be expected. I really like these and would buy them again.

I love the roomy toe box and serious tread. I struggle with breaking in the stiff tongue at the point where it meets my ankle. Rubs significantly.

Love the green sage color and look of these shoes. Heard they were the replacement for the long gone Ultra Adventure PRO, they are definitely not. Too low volume combined with zero support for me to wear often.; feels like I am putting my feet into empty shipping containers. They are pretty lightweight and I have used them for causal walking and in the gym. A great shoe if you are looking for a minimalist, flat shoe with a zero drop feel.

I really like them but still not wide enough. Wish they came in Wide but they dont. I've developed whats called a tailors bunion so i need just a bit more space on the lateral side of my shoe. Definitly need the Waterproofing in th e Pacific NW On hind sight i should have just kept the Terraventure 4 that do come in wide.

I've put hundreds of miles on Mtn Racers, Ultraventures, and Traverses. The Traverses are the most like a hiking shoe: they are stiffer and more sturdy than other Topo trail shoes. However, they run much more narrow in the toe box, and they run a half size smaller. I put 450 miles on the Traverses while hiking the AT, and they gave me blisters/hot spots. I just finished 300 miles on a Camino in Ultraventures - not a single issue. Please fix this, Topo!

I do not like it when I walk on a public park boardwalk with TREX and it feels slippery even on a dry day.
I would like more grip on the soles.

I was in the Topo Mtn Racers and after those wore out, I had to switch to the Traverse during a 50 day stint on the Appalachian Trail. The outfitter didn't carry the Mtn Racers, but I was excited to try a Topo with a rockplate that was specifically designed for hiking. After putting 485 miles on them, several things stand out: they run 1/2 size small and the width is narrower than other Topos. I had lots of hot spots and blisters because of the narrowness of the shoe - super frustrating.

For whatever reason,
I felt these shoes were more shallow in depth than other Topo Trail shoes I have. I use the Superfeet inserts, and while they work great in all my other Topos, with this pair I did not feel like my foot was totally in the shoe. Even with the original insoles, the shoe was just very shallow and I felt like I was walking out of it. I have a narrow heel and midfoot, but need the wide toe box. Everywhere else the shoe was great, but for those that swap out the insole or require custom orthotics, these would not be a good choice.

I have wide feet so I thought I'd give Topo a try. First,I can only wear these with no socks or very thin socks. So that immediately limits its use for me. The toe box is roomy but I was expecting something roomier compared to wide version of other brands. So if you have wide feet and your front and midfoot areas are proportional to a wider footprint, then this model may not work for you as only the front toes are wider, not the midfoot. I was also surprised by how it felt a little short in length. In hindsight, I should have gone a half size up rather than risk banging my toes on declining terrain. Finally, I felt an unstretchable sensation at the midfoot as others have noticed. It felt like a thin shoelace was wrapped across the midfoot. Not sure if that was a deliberate design or my feet aren't ideal for Topo but it didn't hurt me while on long trail walks. It's just very noticeable and distracting at times. The dimpled effect of the insole is unique and I quite like the sensation. Overall, it's a good shoe, just isn't the grail I was looking for.

I'm disappointed that I ordered these in the same size as my ULTRAVENTURE 3's, but they are too short. Ordered a half-size up, I hope I like them. So far, I do prefer the soft fabric on the heel collar of the Traverse--the heel collar on the ULTRAVENTURE 3 is coarse and I feel it irritating my achilles through my socks.

Rock plate is not suitable for me. I prefer cushion feel . These are stylish. I will use them comfortably to ride my bicycle but not for hiking. Not comfortable for walking as I like a more cushiony feel .

I ordered these along with a pair of the Terradventure 4WP. The Terradventures worked out great but not these Traverse. Traverse too hard a footbed and hit my neuroma - couldn't wear. I returned for refund and obtained with no difficulty.

I only wore these Topos for a couple runs. Within that time, I developed a blister on my medial great toes due to poor padding where my toes push off the ground. I couldn't see wearing them for longer-too painful!
