My husband gifted me my first pair, and I will not wear anything else. Toes and ankles always hurt when hiking or trail running until I wore my first Topo shoes! Sweepstakes

I've worn several Topos for a combo of trail running and hiking. Most recently I had the Ultraventure, which for me feels sloppy on downhills and hurt my toes. Those are still going for flat terrain but I knew I needed something new for steeper descents. I love everything about this shoe so far. Keeps debris out of my socks but is somehow not hot and sweaty? Dries fast. Comfort out of the box and my feet feel great the next day. And also good for running! A real winner.

I just wore these all over the slippery cobbles in Lisbon and Porto. I saw multiple warning about how slippery the cobblestones are, especially in the rain. These shoes felt so secure. No slipping at all. I wore them every day of a 12 day trip and am now ordering a backup pair. Toe box is great and my narrow heel doesn't slip.

I've been a day hiker for decades, but now have Morton's neuroma left foot, plantar fasciitis both feet, and high arches.
Also, feet are between an M/narrow. It's been a nightmare over the years trying to find wide toe box shoes that work for me. Men's shoes: too wide all around. Altras: most styles OK in toe box, but too wide for my narrow feet. Lems and Xero: barefoot style hurts my neuroma. I'm trying to supplement with a thicker foot pad under my orthotic.
The traverse are my second pair of Topos and I love how it fits my slightly narrow foot, with just right toe Box. My orthotics fit in beautifully and the traverse is something I now wear almost exclusively. I walk about 2 miles a day, and then another mile or two on my large property. They hug my feet just right, allowing my feet to feel them, creating the best stability I've had in years. Somehow, this also improves my balance. Topo, if you will make others with that medium cushion, vibram sole and this kind of stability, you will have me for life! I would love if they came in an 11.5, also. I have just ordered the Terra venture to have some waterproof shoes for Portland winters, we will see if those work.

I have broken my left foot three times and have had plantar fasciitis so that foot is extremely persnickety about shoes. I've tried so many other brands and wasn't sure about these at first. They have been awesome, allowing me to walk a couple miles or more every day without discomfort which is HUGE. I am so thankful to have finally found a shoe that works and allows me to continue to be active. I have recommended them to several women and those who have bought them are also very happy with them. Thanks TOPO for making my life more enjoyable!

Used these to thru hike the Colorado Trail and I was impressed with the durability and midsole support. I wore Altras on the PCT and they did the trick, but the fit always felt a little sloppy. I wanted to try a different last with Topos, and I'm so glad I did! The midsole didn't compress nearly as quickly as my Altras always have, and I still had a nice wide fit for my foot to not be restricted. I would use this shoe on another long trail without hesitation!

Nice, wide toe box. And after comparing the 9 with the 9.5, decided on the 9 - it had sufficient toe room to accommodate a full day's hike. Mesh seems quite durable, toe strikes won't pierce it any time soon.

This is my sixth pair of Topos, my second pair of Traverse. I love these shoes. In all but the Trailventure 2 WP, I've worn a 10.5. I got the 11 in the TV 2 WP. When I got the first pair of Traverse I almost sent them back because they seemed too small. I didn't and I've hiked in them everyday since early spring. They have a lot of wear so I decided to replace with an 11. They are perfect. I wish I'd sent the 10.5 back and got the 11 the first time. I love these shoes!

Recently wore these on a ~240 mile thru hike of the John Muir Trail. They were comfortable the entire time! A great combination of cushion and stability.
They began to show a lot of wear and tear on the inner fabric after about mile 200, and became pretty unwearable by the end of the hike. However, the tread still had some life left! The terrain was rough, so I wasn't being gentle on these shoes by any means.
I am giving 5 stars because they served me wonderfully on my trip, and I would purchase again! It might get spendy replacing these every 250-300 miles on a longer thru hike. I sized up half a size and the fit was great with my Injinji liners and Darn Tough socks.

I've been wearing the Ultraventure 3 for hiking and absolutely love them. But needed a sturdier shoe for rockier, more technical hiking. Tried these on a 25+ mile backpacking weekend and they were perfection. Good support, even with a full pack, while still lightweight. No break-in needed. Of note, I'm prone to blisters and got none with these.

I've worn Altra Lone Peaks for years for walking and day hiking. I love the zero drop and roomy toe box of the Lone Peaks - and I need the roomy toe box due to one foot being wide in the forefoot due to bunions (big toe and pinky toe). But the Lone Peaks have always felt sloppy on my feet, which, other than the one forefoot, are actually low volume in the midfoot and heels. Also I've always wished the Lone Peak sole was a bit sturdier. Enter the Traverse. This checks all the boxes: roomy toe box, snug around mid foot, awesome vibram sole and what feels like a slight rocker motion. Love them and plan to check out other models for running, etc. Thank you Topo!

I'm a long-distance through hiker.Being able to spread my toes as my foot hits the ground is very important. I size up because I wear a liner toe sock under my regular socks. The soles have excellent gripping power on multi-surface trails. Love my W-Traverse! Thinking of buying a new pair for my upcoming camino.

I bought these in gray for daily use walk-commuting 5+ miles round trip. They are also incredibly useful for travel, when I want to bring as few shoes as possible these have served me well on trips to NY and New Mexico, where I used them for mountain hikes, city walking, and runs in ABQ foothills. Topos are my all-time fave active shoe, I think I have around three pairs right now but these are my favorite. I find Topo to run a half size small!

I bought these for a long hiking/walking trip, 12-18 miles per day. I normally wear a 39 or 8.5 American sizing but sized up to account for swelling on long mile days. I have bunions and often have foot pain but so far, after trying these and several other models, these are working for me.

I have had these for about 4 months and hike about 10 miles per week and are holding up very well! They have the right amount of cushion (not too firm, not too soft), a wide toe box, are quick drying, extremely breathable, and the vibram outsole will grip wet rocks. Pair these with lightweight wool socks and your feet will dry quick after hiking in the heat or walking through streams.

This show has it all - it's roomy for my toes but doesn't have any slippage side to side or front to back. I've used it in mud, rocky terrain and wooded trails - it's great in all of them! I've put over 100 miles on them and they show very little wear.

This shoe is amazing! My old feet need a bit more toe room and firm structure and these shoes are heaven sent! Put the first 10 miles on them and I love them! Love the tread also for the slippery days. And I'd say all that even if there wasn't a "sweepstake"!

I'm training for the 90+ mile Wonderland Trail and am so tired of hiking shoes that pinch my toes. These are the first I've tried that provide ample room in the toe box without being too wide everywhere else. I have high arches and bunions. I usually replace the insoles in my shoes to get more arch support but these are great as is.
Thank you, Topos! I'm so excited to have a trail shoe that fits me! Look forward to being a return customer.

I decided to take the plunge and try these. I usually run in Brooks Cascadia and was going to wear them on a 16 mile bp trip that involves dozens of stream crossings but instead I bought these. I took them out of the box and they fit perfect. Like the Cascadia but with toe room! I'm stoked. They worked great! Love the rock plate, they fit with my narrow heel, and the drainage feature is awesome! I did use my Superfeet insoles that I'm accustomed to. I look forward to trying them running. Yippee

If you are a woman with a high instep and wide forefoot, go to men's shoes. I wear a 10.5 woman's wide...in men's I can usually go 9.5 wide. Since this is already wide toebox, 9.5 men's works. It is not tight across top of foot. These feel awsome. Excellent support.

I bought these shoes for summer hiking. I have several foot problems--the most recent being posterior tibial dysfunction and plantar fasciitis--which makes finding the right shoe difficult. My first Topos were the Pursuit which felt great but didn't have enough support in the sole for hiking in the mountains of MT. I next went to the Terraventure 4 last summer which I wore thru the fall. They were great but again, got a little squishy for hiking. I got the Trailventure 2 WP for the winter and have to say, these are the best hiking boots I've ever owned. As it got warmer, they got too hot. I decided to try the Traverse after trying on it and the Terraventure 4 WP. I love the Traverse. They are the most supportive, lightweight shoe I've ever had. I was a bit skeptical before my first hike because the feel like nothing on my feet but, I was proven wrong. These are the most amazing low hikers I've ever had. Even though I have a very narrow, long foot, I'm sold on Topos. My feet, legs and hips all feel great. I've had to give up trail running because of my knees and feet but I hike 3-4 miles a day in the mountains. These shoes are supportive, stable, and the soles are really grippy. The one 'negative' thing I'd say is that they feel just a little bit smaller than the Terraventure 4 or the Pursuit. I found that they were a bit snug with a thicker pair of socks but just right with a thinner pair. When you look at the shoe compared to the Terraventure 4, it looks just a bit more narrow. That said, they are new and may break in to look a bit wider. The fit is fine. I've hiked in them for about 2 weeks and have to say I'd buy them again in a minute. They are the perfect warm weather, light hiker.

Distance hiking. The heel cushion is amazing. Only down side is the right shoe is beginning to break away at the toe flex. It is not bad at this time. I have worn these shoes on a 40 mile hike and wear them 6-7 days a week for workouts and everyday activities. Expect to wear them on a 200 mile hike in May to complete the BMT.

I bought these shoes primarily for travel. I wanted a trail running type shoe that I could use for light hiking, scrambling across uneven or wet terrain, and that at the same time would look smart casual for urban exploration/dining out. I haven't put these shoes through the full paces yet, but I have to say they are incredibly comfortable. I have a wider foot and many shoes end up pinching my toes after more than an hour or so of walking. That hasn't happened yet with these shoes. #sweepstakes

I had surgery for Morton's Neuroma and need the roomier toe box, but I also have a narrow foot. The Traverse provides the necessary space AND support for the entire footbed. The style is nice, too. I'm new to Topo & am happy with this shoe. I like trail hiking with my dog, so the high quality Vibram sole is a huge plus.

I bought these for multi-day hikes. In the past, I've typically hiked in trail running shoes (I hate boots!) - most recently the terraventures. I was pleased with the terraventures, but the new traverse shoes are fantastic! The fit is very similar to the terraventures, but with more support underfoot and a bigger bumper to protect from rocks and roots. Perfect!
I've taken them out for a few trips now, and these shoes have all the features I've loved from Topo (my toes don't get smashed on the downhills), but with the extra support of the Traverse, my feet aren't as tired at the end of the day which sometimes used to happen.
I love the Traverse shoes for hiking and would definitely recommend.
And thanks to the designers for offering a women's shoe in grey!
