I bought these as other runners had indicated they were great shoes. The first time I pulled them on the pull loop on the back tore a little, but I did a little 6 mile trail run and really enjoyed them. I took them on a peak run and they were great on the uphill but terrible on the downhill. My foot did not feel secure and the lacing is simple terrible to try and lock down your foot. It messed with them constantly trying to eliminate rubbing from foot slide, but didn't work. I did another peak with them of 16 miles and same problem on the down hill. The pull loop on the back tore more and the sole started to peel after only 40 miles. Because of the terrible lacing system, the rubbing at the front of the arch and the embarrassing longevity issues I sent them back. I will probably be sticking with Salomon, it's hard to beat their quick lace system.

I received my order of speed goat six last week and I'm happy with the way. The shoe is built well and the color is good. However, it seems that the size varies from other HOKA shoes that I have bought. It's tighter in the toe box than the Bondi for example. Had a very similar experience with the Rincon shoe, which also feels it is sized differently. I cannot understand how one company can produce different sizes for different models. Would recommend trying-on before buying.

I LOVE the looks of these and they are so comfortable to wear. And weigh nothing. So I bought another pair (different colors) same awesome look, weigh and comfort level. Home run HOKA!!

Huge HOKA fan- wear them all the time. Like my new Speedgoat. Even more incredible is that gray color turns to violet in the outdoors Concerned that the stability isn't as good for challenging terrain. The outer soul on the outside is not as wide as previously. Not sure why it was changed. What do you recommend?

This shoe required serious stretching to get to a comfortable fit with high arch feet. Initially I even thought to return the shoe due to how painful it was, but after stuffing rolled socks into the reinforced section separating the toe box from the laces, the fit became tight, but in a snug, technical way. I'm unsure if sizing affects the vertical fit as well as horizontal, but potentially sizing up if you have doubts on fit could be beneficial. True to length, very tight on the height. Great structure, weight, and traction otherwise.

Purchased for a hike up Pikes Peak - my first 14'er. My first impression was "oh no - too small". But I tried it again with thinner socks and got a good feel. Have put over 20 miles on them, the last hike was a very rocky 10 miles - including a couple miles off trail. They seemed to loosen up just a bit and I think we are going to have a good hike up Pikes Peak July 4 Weekend.

Have had many prior pairs of SpeedGoats GTX models. Bought these as they are good for summer hikes and work well as golf shoes double duty!

The shoe is excellent. I don't have a problem with the shoe. The issue that I have is it's not wide enough for me. I don't know if you make this shoe in a wide because it didn't have that option to choose

The best running shoes I own. Super light with plenty of cushioning. And they look super cool.

I've been a fan of Hoka in the past, so despite reading some negative reviews about the newest model of the Speedgoat, I decided to give it a try when I bought them in March 2025. Right out of the box, I noticed there was very little heel cushioning. It wasn't painful, but there was a pinching sensation that wasn't great. I broke them in with a few short training runs and then wore them on a 10-mile backpacking trip. Shockingly, the fabric in the toe box completely disintegratedthere are stress tears and rips all over the shoe. They have less than 40 miles on them and are basically destroyed. To make matters worse, this is the first pair of shoes I've ever owned that developed terrible odor after just a few uses. I've worn many trail runners over the years and never had this issue before. While the grip was decent and they were moderately comfortable and light, the poor quality of materials and total lack of odor control make this a huge miss. I'm really disappointed in Hoka and am seriously reconsidering buying any of their products again.

I absolutely love the responsiveness of the show but I ordered the wide and it is still extremely narrow at the arch of my foot. I came from the challenger 7 that never gave me blisters and the speedgoat absolutely destroyed the inside of my arch. Blistered bad with less than 25 miles total on the shoe.

Upgraded to the Speedgoat 6 from the 5, and it feels similar but the new more traditional heel shape I like better. The tongue is very thin, but I don't have an issue. Also grips the mud and wet grass very well.

The comfort of the Hoka Speedgoat is great. I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet and have been wearing Brooks brand for years and they are good but not as good as these Hoka's! Will be purchasing a second pair when I catch the next sale. Fit is perfect, tread makes a bit of a gripping sound on linoleum and tile but not too loud. Very stable shoe.

I loved the looks of this shoe, but it felt like walking on a steel plate. I have a pair of Clifton 9's that I love. Wanted a trail shoe with a cushioned feel but more aggressive tread. I will be returning.

The Speedgoat 5s were such a great trail running shoe!!! The lacing system for the Speedgoat 6 starts 4 inches from the toe, not 3 inches like the Speedgoat 5. This design makes the shoe feel loose and squishy in the midfoot area. Hopefully, Hoka will correct this error in the next iteration of the Speedgoat shoe.

I have been wearing Speed Goats since version 2. 6's just don't feel great. The upper toe cover creases when you push off the toe and presses in to the top of my foot. 5's have been my favorite so far. If it ain't broke don't fix it

I am a Hoka faithful who loves the fit, wear and and functionality. I was disappointed in the fit and what appears to be a shoe construction change.

I had never heard anyone say that the Speedgoats were too narrow. So why make the shoe, in v. 6, have even less room?! I don't understand the changes to this version. I've worn Speedgoats for years and I'm kind of in shock. This shoe is now much firmer (to the point of being uncomfortable). Please, offer the Speedgoats in extra-wide (and/or stop tapering the toe box); and bring back the comfortable cushioning of the previous versions. This is a unique shoe because of the incredible traction but Hoka kind of ruined it with this revision.
