My Skywards were my 6th consecutive pair of Hoka's, starting with Bondi's. I'm clearly a huge fan/supporter of the brand, and for good reason: they've allowed me to return to my normal daily power walk routine without any pain or swelling from a long-term knee issue as well as some plantar fasciitis. I've never had any issues with quality or durability...until these. On both shoes, after only about six months, the foam structure on the heel--particularly the inner part--has crumbled away. Which has also obviously caused the bottom sole layer to delaminate as well. They're done, ready for the trash can. To say the least, I'm surprised and very disappointed, as it's so unlike my previous Hokas, and totally unacceptable for any premium athletic shoe. Yes, I'm sure they'll qualify for warranty coverage. But besides the hassle of filling out a form, boxing sending them back (how often do packages go missing these days, etc) it's just such a drag to get such an inferior pair of shoes from a brand I've come to expect such quality from. Is Hoka yet another formerly quality line gone bad, or did I just happen to get a pair from a batch with badly sourced materials and/or very poor construction?

These shoes are terrible for running they are better suited for people who work on their feet all day and walk a lot. Running in them is difficult and hurts the arch of your foot.

I don't believe a carbon plate should go on such high stack shoe. Pretty unstable. Midfoot it's a bit narrow, which causes rubbing and soreness. It just did not fit well. I thought it was going to be a good recovery shoe, but negative. I will be exchanging it for something else. By all means, Hoka is great, it's just with with this shoe, I don't think they hit a home run.

I was really hopeful I could wear these shoes all day, but sorely disappointed with the materials. They LOOK comfortable with the 2 inches of cushioning, but I could only wear them for a couple hours. Sure wish Hoka would go back to their original materials for the soles.

I would give it 5 stars, it's great, comfortable shoe that protects my knees but after less than 6 months and about 100 miles of running the rubber sole is already through and down to the foam
For that price I would have hoped it would have lasted at least double the distance

I wear Cliftons and Bondi's because of their 2E width choices. You also sell Arahi's and Gaviota's in wide sizes. Why don't you sell carbon plate shoes in wide sizes? I ordered the Skyward X because your sales person assured me that the front of the regular width shoe was wide and I would be all right with them. Well, I wasn't. They hurt during my three runs with them and I returned them after a week. I am very disappointed in the salesperson misleading me, but thank you for your 60-day return policy.

My headline says it all. Been a loyal Hoka fan since Clifton One but was really excited to run in these plush babies up until my first run in them. Due to the imbalanced height of these shoes, you'll need to be very careful because I felt myself balancing my steps which I've never had to do before. The height of the shoes felt like platforms. At the first 5 minutes of the run I thought I had to just break them in but within the 6th minute as I transitioned off a sidewalk, my right ankle gave in and rolled so hard I've been out of commission for 4 months. Due to the long recovery period, I went and got an X-Ray and MRI which showed a torn tendon and stress fracture that turned into a bone spur. I have been a big Hoka supporter since day-1 but I can't help but write this warning for others considering the purchase of this specific model.

Went out on my run with these new shoes, excited to try them on. Soon after the balls of my feet were screaming with pain and had to stop my run and was forced to turn back, limping all the way back home because of how much pain my feet were in. Is there anyway I can return these? I don't see myself ever running in these shoes again.

HOKA shoes are simply the best. I am distance walker and I have to buy a new pair every month. Though I have tried quite a few styles over the years; my go to shoe is the Gaviota 5at least so far! Because the color selection has been so poor as of late, I opted to try the Skyward. I was hugely disappointed. I didn't feel the usual HOKA stability and support. I didn't find the quality to be up to snuff either, and thought I would wear them out very quickly. A no go for me.

I was initially excited to wear and use this shoe. Unfortunately I was unable to give it more than 30 miles as I noticed the dye around the tongue of the shoes started bleeding into my socks. Hoka forgot to mention the free pairs of pink socks that come with this $200+ purchase. Unable to return and not covered by warranty since apparently this is normal and expected! Been a regular buyer since 2018 but will look elsewhere from here on out.

Under foot is stiff. Thought it just needed break in so kept with it and I eventually was passed my return date. I wear a 7.5 mens. I agree with a lot of the bad reviews about them. They are unbalanced and the return isnt there. I kept trying them after healing from the plantars. Thinking it probably was my gait and not the shoes. No it's the shoes. And I writing this as a fair warning for others. May be some kind of production error but it's not as advertised.

Shoes are unstable, even with the carbon plate, they will definitely put you at a higher risk of injury. Outsole is weirdly convex which makes oversupination and twisting your ankle possible. Also my back hurt after just walking in them, as I was compensating all the time for instability. Knees feel shaky and weak in this shoe. Overall 1/5

I was excited to try these and they were so unstable. I would frequently lose my balance and caused me a lot of joint pain from my body trying to compensate for the instability. Returned them for the Bondi professional line and I am doing a lot better so far.

This are the most uncomfortable sneakers i ever wear
I was very excited to get new sneakers. I wear the new shoes one full day (approx 15 hrs). My feet's were super tired by the time i came home at the end of the day.
The sneakers has big seams on the inside of the shoes. This seams make the sneakers very uncomfortable to the point of getting blisters on the top and side of both of my feet.
I issued a return item request the same night.
This super expensive pair of sneakers don't deliver any confort and sadly will hurt your feet.

The fit was odd- there was no support around foot, allowing for the shoe to twist around the foot when running. Felt like I was trying to keep the shoe straight under my foot. Had to return.

Received these last Thursday returning them today. To much cushioning on one side makes other side of shoe unstable and made me walk differently. Me and wife we're taking a little walk all of a sudden I leaned over and kept on leaning down a hill past my wife. She said I looked like tiger from the winny the poo cartoon bouncing down the hill on sneakers.lol

We purchased these for my husband in June. He put less than 300 miles on them, and the sole of his right shoe has almost completely been warn away. We are longtime Hoka wearers, and we're extremely disappointed. We just got back from the UPS store after sending the useless shoes back to Hoka.

I really wanted to like the Hoka Skyward X, but after nearly 70 km, I haven't been able to run comfortably in these shoes. They significantly altered my stride, and I started experiencing pain on the left side of my hip. Despite their good cushioning, the change in my running mechanics has been a major drawback. If you're considering these shoes, be mindful of how they might impact your stride and overall comfort.

The shoes were dirty!! Someone wore them and sent them back after they tried them for a few days. I guess no one inspected during the return process, and threw them back on the shelves for resale. And whoever took the order didn’t inspected them before shipping out to me. I felt like I was wearing clown shoes!!

Horrible fitting. Should have never purchased these shoes. Should have stayed with my Bondi 8's.
