I adore transport non GTX. Have 3 pairs of them, two of which are GTX I bought almost blindly after the first one non GTX (just put on to reassure that the size is proper). All transports are surely tight in the zone of scaphoid and talus, but GTXs are a nightmare. That's impossible to find a proper lacing, which doesn't cut blood supply and doesn't harm the bones.
Those things never happened with e.g. ASICS, which I use also similarly: non-gtx and gtxs in the same model

I have bunions and purchased size 8 based on great comfort in my size 8 Hoka Kawanas which run wide. But the Gore Tex fabric is much stiffer and tighter than standard fabric and cut painfully into the top of my foot. The shoes were unwearable for me, even with standard laces. I returned the standard 8 GTX and purchased the standard wide size 8 version (which is not available in a color that I like in GTX form) and these feel great!! The support on sole and bottom of foot is perfect for long walks and uppers and toe box are very roomy and comfortable. I'll just get water repellent spray and use that. Planning on wearing these on a walk/hiking trip to Japan in May 2025.

I have never before had a size 13 be too small. And I own Hokas, both shoes and "recovery shoes". No idea what that is about, but the left shoe hit my big toe hard from the moment I put it on!

I bought these for a trip to Spain where we would walk 7-10 miles a day. I am a runner and my feet can handle high miles. I was drawn to these because they are specifically marketed as a walking shoe and because they are Gortex. Prior to the trip I wore the shoes daily for a couple weeks for a break-in with no issues. Once we got to Europe and started doing the higher mileage days I found my feet very sore the next day. I climbed out of bed limping around and baffled. Specifically on the top, middle of my foot. Tried to wear them for 2-3 days but it just got worse. I ended up wearing a backup pair of running shoes for the duration of the trip. When I got home, after some rest and a low mile week I tried them again . Same pain. These are the most expensive shoes I've every bought and I can't wear them. So disappointed.

I had these shoes for a couple weeks when the heel loop on the left one snapped while I tried putting it on one day. I didn't pull hard, but the stitching gave way leaving an ugly dangling thread. My partner sewed it back on, but then a couple weeks later the same thing happened to the right shoe. My partner then sewed it on again, applying superglue this time to both to make sure it didn't reoccur. Then just today it happened again!!!! I have not been pulling very hard on the loops at all. They simply aren't made to be used with any degree of force. If you buy these shoes, do not expect to ever be able to slip them on.

I ordered the GTX and Regular version size 10.5. I had a similar experience as other reviewers regarding the tightness on the top and sides. I had to return the shoes.

Shoe was notably less long than others in the same numerical size. But Zappos would not let me exchange them because I had to wear them to really see whether that was the case and a problem.

I bought these locally last month, hoping to wear them as my everyday shoes through the winter. I normally wear Cliftons in the summer, and last year I had Anacapas in the winter. The Transport felt good in the store. Upon wearing them around, I found them to be very stiff and tight especially around the toe box, with the cushioning a lot more firm than I am used to with Hokas. I figured they just needed to break in, and maybe they eventually will. So far though, they just aren't very comfortable. I do like the quick toggle, the waterproofing seems to work great, and I get zero heel-slip which is often an issue for me.

The toe box is much tighter in the toe box and height than my other pair which is why I repurchased Hoka. Because of the plastic kind of material they make a lot of noise when you take steps. The string keep on the end of the strings already came off. I really didn't like the feel of the soul of the shoes either. Will see if I can return this pair and try something else.

The strap across the top of the shoe tongue is too tight, even with the laces completely loosened. I returned the shoes.

Loved these at first, but the strap on my shoe broke in two months. Squeeky noise won't go away. Probably the worst hokas I've owned! Save your money for some different hokas.

I purchased these shoes and was excited. I put them on and went on the 12.5-mile walk I do daily. When I went to take my shoes off, the quick draw shoelace system that came with the shoe comletely broke. I had to swap them out for the laces completely. I knew eventually I would probably need to replace the quick-release laces that came with the shoes, I just thought for the price, they would last longer than 1 walk or 3 hours. Love the color and styling. Find them a bit snug width-wise.

I ordered the Transport GTX with hope that I could wear it on an upcoming vacation where rain is anticipated. I like the look and feel, but the right foot towbox cover tents down when walking and makes a very annoying snapping noise. I returned the first pair and received a replacement and low and behold, it has the same problem. I have worn HOKA shoes for years and know the size and fit well. I returned the Transport GTX again and will order another shoe model Challenger without Goretex even though it comes in GTX.

I've had a pair of transport GTX for over a year. My go to shoe for walking, sometimes hiking. So, I know it's a good product. My newly purchased pair left me puzzled. The left shoe sounded like a flip flop with. every. step! My return was easy, pretty sure the exchanged pair will be fine.

I've gone through two pairs in the past 6 months. Good cushioning, but they're terrible near any moisture. Your feet will be wet even when it's a light rain let alone on a trail. Also, the loud squeeking noise from the material on the bottom of the shoe will make everyone's head turn if you walk on anything but carpet indoors - like at the supermarket.

Wish I could save I love these "lifestyle" Hokas. I love my running shoes and my trail hiking versions but these fit differently and are more narrow. I can only wear them for short periods of time. Disappointed.

I already have a pair of Hoka shoes that fit like gloves and eased any sciatic hip pain. I wanted another in a different style, so I bought a pair of the Transport GORE-TEX.
The second pair did not fit comfortably at all after being worn for one day and did ease any pain.

So bummed because I LOVE my Hokas (have two pairs!!) but I bought these for my boyfriend and after two weeks the soles are already separating from the rest of the shoe. Not sure if this is a one-time thing or if all pairs are like this.

3 days after purchasing my transport GTX my left shoe started making a clicking sound whenever I tried to walk. It went away for a day then came back on and off. Very embarrassing when your walking at work and people hear you coming from a distance.

My transport 9.5 D bought from Cabel's are great!!
Ordered online Transport GTX same size (9.5 D) and they were tight and too narrow; had to return them.

I always wanted a pair of "not so running shoe" look Hoka. I thought this would be the one. However after tried two pairs(sizing up 0.5 and 1 respectively) I had to return both. The sole is perfect, sweet balance of cushioning and support. Looks sleek as well, not as bulky as other models. But it makes this flip flop noise when walking, you can both hear and feel it. Deadly awkward when walking in a quiet place(such as your office) and extremely annoying when you walk alone on a trail.
And then the fitting is also not friendly to people with wide feet. I sized up 1 fully size and it's still squeezing my feet with loosest laces.
I hope they make a v2 which addresses both problems.

This is the first pair of Hokas I have bought, and I finally took the plunge because they were waterproof. My family all love Hokas and say they are really comfortable. Unfortunately these are not just uncomfortable, they are e painful to wear. I think it's the waterproof fabric on the front third of the shoe: it doesn't stretch at all and is so restrictive on my toes that I can't wear them for more than an hour. These were expensive shoes, so I keep trying to wear them, but next time I will opt for a version that is not waterproof.
