Oh how I loved my many pairs of Timp trail shoes I've owned over the years, but the Timp 5's feel so much different, I am so sad they changed the design! They just have a completely different, heavier feel.

I really miss the old altras. I've been wearing them for years, they helped my feet so much and now they are inconsistent with sizing. These felt so small and narrow. Stop changing a good product!!

I have had 4 pairs of Timp 4. They fit like a glove. I just bought a pair of Timp 5 and they are not the same shoe. The wide toe-bed is gone, which is the reason they fit my foot so well. I have tried two sizes and they still hurt so much that I can only wear them for about an hour. I am so disappointed. This used to be my favorite shoe.

The upper DUG into my big toe knuckle. Too painful to even walk in.

This shoe has all the fingerprints of how Altra is modifying their other shoes. I have given up on Escalante and will now not consider Time 5. This shoe would probably be good for moderate difficulty trail hiking but has very little versatility. Almost no footbed flexibility and the laces are fixed elastic so there isn't the option to customize instep fit and security. Needless to say I am returning this shoe without any hesitation. Oh, the design is wonderful but this is clearly a case of "form over function".
I'd also recommend:
Uncertain, beginning online research for other zero drop designers.

I requested size 8.5 which is what I usually wear, the shoe was way too tight, to the point of my foot falling a sleep. The length seemed good though which was the confusing part. The right shoe had my ankle falling in between my feet, so much so that my husband even could tell when I was walking. We were thinking maybe I received a defective shoe.

I'm a loyal Lone Peak runner who loves the wide toe box. For whatever reason these dig into my big toe's knuckle and make my feet go numb. Disappointed in the fit bc they're so cute!
