I bought my first pair 11/2023 and loved it. It fit perfectly and the cushion was amazing. I got a second pair 2/2025, but the heel support on my right shoe caves in. Not happy with the inconsistency.

First started using the via O2 as my walk the dogs shoe. Then it became the run the dogs shoe. Then the recovery day run shoe. Then the gonna run 10 miles today shoe. It is a great ride and feels a lot more nimble underfoot than it looks. I have about 175 miles running on this shoe and the cushion and spring feel as great as ever. My current rotation is the torin 7, vanish tempo and these vo2s.

The shoe felt amazing. The only problem I had was that it was too narrow in the midfoot. I have flat/wide feet. So I know that is not a problem for all. But if you came out with a wide version the shoe would be perfect.

These are such great running shoes! They actually are just great shoes in general even if you don't run. They are very stylish with a sleek modern design. They are also super comfortable and feel like you're walking on a cloud!

Love it! First version was good; this is better! I love the "original" foot shape toebox (please return to this in the more responsive shoesVanish). Love the length of the laces to allow for using a locking lace and still have plenty of lace left to tie the shoe. Def happy with this model!!!

Finally, a shoe that allows me to do everything I need to, without feeling like my feet have been through an ultramarathon of their own! The best part is the wider toe box, which is such a pain relief!

During my first run in the ultra running shoe I noticed right away the soft impact field. The shoe is comfortable and light. I tend to be a heel first striker, research suggests that forefoot strikers have better shock absorbency and fewer foot and knee injuries than heel-first strikers, i'm hoping this shoe will train me to be a forefoot striker. It's a good looking shoe that I every day, not just for running. However, time will tell how long the comfort of the cushion will last.

At first glance, I wasn't impressed with the over all design. As much as I don't care about design for a running shoe, it does make a difference to others. The comfort level of the sneaker is great. I instantly felt that it had great support on the bottom of the sneaker, unlike others that I have used in the past. Full movement of the foot inside, relaxed fit so that I didn't feel like I was straining my foot inside the sneaker. As my feet pounded on the pavement, which unfortunately I run mostly on, I definitely felt the support and it also helped the pressure on my knees and hips.

I have worn many versions of the Timp model by Altra and was happy when they decided to expand their options to multiple widths. This is the first time I'm trying on the Via Olympus model. It fits very similar to the Timp model. I wear an 11 1/2 wide US and the length is spot on. When completing the survey, I stated that I wore wide width but was shipped a medium so they're a bit snug in the width for me but overall I believe they run true to width. The shape of the toe box is very comfortable and ergonomic. The only issue I've noticed is that the height of the toe box is in the low side but there's still just enough room for my big toe not to touch the top of the shoe. As for the drop of the sole, it is the normal low drop that Altra is known for. Personally, I have to get used to wearing these as I'm normally wearing work boots with a 3/4" heel on a daily basis. The cushioning of the sole is on the extreme side yet is a neutral sole. I over pronate on both feet and require orthotics to correct unless I'm wearing an extremely supportive shoe like the Brooks Beast. I've added a photo showing with and without orthotics. Overall, this is a great running shoe with a low drop, neutral sole and extreme cushioning that runs true to size.

I love the foot shape and max cushion this shoe provides. I've had it just a few months and did some long runs in them. They have already started to wear out in the collar, and my older shoes in my rotation have not shown the same wear.

I've been disappoint in this show from the start. The cushion in the sole feels like cottage cheese. Best way I can subscribe it. Just not uniform. I haven't enjoyed wearing them. Now, they're already starting to come apart. The toe wrap is going unglued. So much money, so little quality

I have had these shoes for about 3 months and put on about 75 miles so far. I bought my usual size (11.5) and the fit is good. Plenty of room in the toe box for my right toe bunion. The toe area does wrinkle a bit when laced tight but this is not a problem. The comfort running is great, no issues. The max padding did not seem to impressive at first until I switched back to the Rivera that I bought 3 years ago. Those felt like running barefoot in comparison. Hopefully the thicker softer midsole is worth the added weight in terms of foot protection. My main complaint is that they seem to be wearing faster than they should. The Achilles pad is already showing significant wear (picture) and the outer sole at the heal is wearing very fast, especially if I run on rough asphalt roads. The Rivera's heal also did. I hope to get at least 500 miles out of a pair of shoes but these are looking like they may not make it.

After more than 250 street miles there are a couple of issues that keep me from calling it a really great show. The heel fit is not good enough, at least for my feet. For the right size, the heel slips, requiring tighter and more frequent lacing. Also the midsole foam, that felt very comfortable and had some bounciness in the early miles, has gone mostly flat after 200 miles. Clearly the foam needs significant improvement compared to the competition. I would still recommend it but barely so.

I wanted to love this shoe as I have been wearing altras since 2011,but the extra room needed in the midfoot became an issue.I feel pressure under the medial and lateral sides of the midfoot that became too painful as time went on.Cushion still good, heel good, toe box great. If you have normal shaped feet,Altra is a great shoe. However over the years my midfoot has flattened out and Altra doesnt have a midfoot design in any of thier shoes for wide a wide midfoot. The Torin wide is the only model I can tolerate for a few hours even though my midfoot hangs over the last.ALTRA please make a line of shoes thin and thick cushion for truly flat feet.I had to go to different brands of shoes to find midfoot room, and they're not zero drop

I really havent found a shoe as comfortable as these, however that comfort does not last long as others have said on here through reviews. I purchased my pair from an independent running store, so of course Altra is not backing my purchase. Not even 6 months in and the cloth at the toe is splitting apart from the sole. Which is really sad because these are very comfortable.

I have had a very old pair of Olympus shoes (12-15 years old) and desperately needed an upgrade. I went with these Olympus 2 with a good thick sole for the treadmill (I have only used these shoes on the treadmill). These shoes lasted maybe 50 miles before the heel on the right shoe wore a hole. I make sure that I have been using the lace lock (the extra eyelet) to minimize heal movement/slippage in the shoe. I have begun to get a blister from it. Why has the quality gone down so much for the Olympus? I ended up going back to my pair that is 12-15 years with countless miles and ZERO holes in the heel I have multiple pairs of the Lone Peak 9 shoes and they don't have this issue. Consistency issue across the shoes? Paying what I did for these shoes and only getting 50 miles is a rip off. My suggestion is to look for something different that will last longer.

While these are listed as the original footshape, they are much tighter around the midfoot causing hot spots where the insole meets the shoe. Recommend not listed as the original footbed.

I have purchased previous Via Olympus 2 in gray which fit well. My new purchase of the gray and blue are much narrower even ordering a 1/2 size bigger. I need a wider fit which I thought the new purchase would satisfy. I will be returning and look for the cushion that these shoes provide but with a wider fit. If Altra has such a shoe, please advise.

I only used these for walking and within 5 weeks I noticed the material on the heel fraying, within 2 months there was a clear hole in the heel. Expected a better quality shoe at this price point.

These are great looking shoes. They're very nice and they fit fine. However, I have very sensitive feet and was looking for something ultra, plush and comfortable and cushioned. The cushioning towards the heel is sufficient however, the front of my feet are very achy, and these shoes did not deliver in comforting the ache in the front of my feet. I will not be buying these again however I would say they're very nice for those with pain-free feet.

I'm a hairstylist and I've been a fan of this shoe for a few years. However, the remake on this shoe is obviously lesser quality than what it used to be. I bought as many of the old pairs before the remake of the Olympus 2. I've purchased two different colors of this new remake, and I cannot working them at all. I don't know what the difference is, but this is not the same shoe that he used to be.

This is my second pair of Altras. I had the original Via Olympus which I love and still use as my indoor workout shoes and then the Via Olympus 2 which have been used solely for outdoor walking. The Via 2 are just as comfortable, but the inside heel of the right shoe has worn a hole in just a few weeks of wear. They are still wearable for now, but that hole is getting a bit bigger and will eventually cause problems.

Lots a cushion may be a little too much cushion need to find a perfect fit between the lone Peak in the Olympus. Toes feel amazing. I felt to high in them . But that's because I'm comparing to my lone Peak hiking shoe.
