The MW840 is very comfortable and holds up a long time. It may not be the most stylish shoe, but it is very well-padded for lots of walking and is well-ventilated to prevent shoe getting too hot in the summer.

Bought this shoe for my 81 year old father in law to wear in Washington, D.C. We walked about 9 miles every day and these shoes were great!

I work on my feet for a living. With that being said these are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned! They are worth every penny! New Balance has got it going on! These shoes are amazing and they hold up great! I have had them over 1.5 years and the soles are not worn out. That's over 450 days at 10 hours a day on my feet! The best work shoes I have ever worn. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who works on their feet and stands for long hours. Do yourself and your feet a favor and buy these shoes! Super comfortable and super durable!

I just want to say how great your customer service reps are. I haven't been the easiest to satisfy when comes to getting new shoes, but your reps are always there to make things right for me. These 840's have been the best that I can find so I can walk my dogs for a mile every day. Tried a cheaper style of NB, but found out the 840's are the best for me. Just recommend Zappos to a friend a couple of days ago. No more brick & motar for me when it comes to shoes. Thanks

Finally a walking shoe with a toe box that fits my husband's foot. I bought 2 pairs: 2E and 4E widths. With the ample toe box the 2E were perfect. I'll be exchanging the 4E for a second pair of 2E in white since the shoes are so comfortable.

This is the second pair of this particular shoe, brand and type. I previously bought it in white. Now I ordered it in black. It is super comfortable, supportive, very well constructed and attractive. Add to it a well known manufacturer with long established reputation and you have a winner. Secondly, I have always had extremely good service dealing with Zappos. Very fast and professional along with quick free shipping ( and returns/exchanges if necessary). I am very satisfied and will continue to buy my shoes this way.

Very comfortable relatively straight lasted walking shoe. Roomy toe box. A little big in the heel and a bit high on the ankles, but the overall fit is fine. Not much style and very limited color selection but for my size 14 I am happy to have these available. I cannot yet comment on durability

I've had several pair of shoes of this model and they stand up to a workout. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of ever pair. They fit and wear well.

Great shoe for serious walking on senior age feet. More stylish than an orthopedic type shoe and with almost the same level of support and comfort.

Needed an excellent walking shoe. Got 'em! I've had lower back issues and walking in "running" shoes always caused back spasms. These shoes are solid, firm and made for walking, lots of walking. At the two mile mark I turned around expecting the lower back to eventually become annoying. Didn't happen. Love these so much I ordered another pair yesterday. Different color. My experience with New Balance sizing has always met my expectations.

In short, these shoes are very comfortable all day long. I am a UPS delivery driver and they needed some shoes that would not make my feet hurt, being on them 10 to 12 hours a day. They are polishable leather which is also required by UPS but they can get scraped up and scuffed pretty quickly because of that. I do not wear prescribed insoles but they would fit with no problem whatsoever.

My husband found the sneakers to be comfortable, well made and attractive. One reason he bought them was the report that they had excellent arch support.

Zappos provided great service. This is an excellent way to buy shoes. Especially if you have shoe info to use when ordering. New Balance makes superlative shoes. None better.

I switched to the 840v2 from the New Balance 847 - what a difference! More cushioning, a better and more comfortable tongue and better laces. Time will tell how they hold up, but for now I really like these shoes.

These shoes are great! Very good arch support, which is important to me. They are lightweight & breathable.

I speed walk about 4 miles every other day. I ran up until three years ago. I have been using running shoes for the walks, so these MW840v2 are my first walking shoe. I tried all the top rated walking shoes and these feel the best for me. Good padding, good support, and my toes are comfortable with a bit of room to spread out as I walk. I'm an 8.5 in a dress shoe and have been wearing 9.0 for running shoes. Contrary to the vast majority of reviewers, I found a 9.0 was right in this shoe.
