I was expecting a green sweater, and was shocked to see tan & red sawdust looking specs woven into the fabric. Your website description was not complete and I was charged $6.50 to return the item.

I bought this sweater for my husband in Deep Loden Donegal. We didn't realize this sweater isn't pure green. The yarn has a mix of orange and red and it looks strange in person. The fit of the sweater was fine, but the color was just terrible.

Expected better for the price, fit and color are pretty good, but not "Soft Cotton" as titled. The material and comfort, the feel of it, is just average. You can find this quality anywhere

This seems a great sweater, except for the flecks in the burnt mahogany yarn, which makes the sweater look as if the person wearing it has spilled crumbs all over himself, or has just walked through a dusty sawmill. The contrast is too great, and the flecks look like they are sitting on top of the sweater, not integrated. So we returned the sweater.

This sweater is beautiful, ordered the green for my husband, however: it pills! I don't know how this got past quality control but it actually came with pilling both on the outside and inside of the sweater! Sadly I am returning! There are others who are voicing the same complaints! L.L. Bean needs to look into this. Don't know if it has to do with the color or if all the sweaters in this particular sweater have the same issue.

So disappointed! The navy one we bought recently was perfect, but this red one is at least one size too small. It also arrived covered with loose fuzziness that might have washed off, but I won't find out since we have to return it.

I didn't expect the "sparkles" in the body of the sweater. The quality of the sweater seemed less than a blue one I purchased several years ago. I was disappointed!

I am returning this item because the color was a different shade of green than the catalog showed. Other than that I had no complaint.

This is a beautiful sweater and great quality. The problem is that there is a hole in the sweater where the weave has unraveled.

The burgundy sweater appeared to have lint all over it.

Covered with lint and loose threads which cannot be removed.

Probably 95% of the clothes in my closet are LL Bean. I have been buying clothes from Bean for over 30 years. This sweater is not the quality you can normally expect. It is covered with little white threads, a lint remover will not remove them. The only way to remove them is by pulling them out. The web catalog does not show a true picture of the sweater. Look at the pictures I posted with this review before you purchase.

I noticed that I am the second review of this sweater for this issue. I am not alone. My "sale price" sweater is now going to cost me $6 to return it and buy one in "Large" for almost double the price I paid. Wow. The fabric is full of little light colored seeds with fiber at both ends. These are on both the insides and outside of the sweater. It is manufactured in Jordan and clearly shows a lack of quality control for the fabric. Construction is great. Very nice heavy weight. It fit tighter than I needed because I wanted to wear a shirt underneath.

I bought this as a Christmas present but when I pulled it out of the plastic I realized it's completely covered in eggs? Wood chips? I don't even know but it's horrifying.

I bought this and it has white like pills all over it. Tried to wash it but it didn't come off. Going to donate it to charity. Never been worn.

I bought this sweater for my son. He wanted me to wash it and when I took it out of the wash I thought I had ruined it. There were black specks everyone. I tried to brush them off and used a lint roller. Then I looked back at my order and saw the other reviews. It's supposed to look like this?

My husband just opened this for his birthday present. Great color and fit for a tall man, but it looks like it was washed with a fluffy towel and packaged. It's not at all like the in store sweater. This lint falls off or brushes off! Terrible. I will be returning today

Hated it, i purchased the teal looking sweater, it has a bunch of other colors cheaply knitted into the sweater, was horrible looking, I always purchased a XL for a nice oversized look and it was small and tight gave it to my cat to use as a hideous bed cover

Have ordered two and returned both. Arrive covered in lint or dirt from the manufacturer. Will not brush out. Hopefully a store has some that are clean.

I ordered this sweater and when it arrived I was surprised to see all these tan specks on the material. I thought perhaps it was a returned item that someone had washed with sawdust. If you don't mind what looks to be lint all over the sweater it is a nice sweater. Otherwise, beware!

This is a beautiful sweater if you like the material that looks like it was washed with a load of shredded tan paper bags. I does actually have specks throughout the material that look like it was washed with paper bags. I would be embarrassed to wear the sweater I received in public.

Just received. I thought the bag it was in may have some residue or something due to various colors. When I pulled it out of the bag I realized there are various colors of thread woven into the garment. It also has pulls and such throughout. This is being returned for sure.

I was disappointed with color scheme of the fabric of this sweater. Not clearly depicted in the photo of the product, there are tiny flecks of yellow throughout the yarn. The resultant appearance is one of lint which detracts from the sweater's beauty.

This looks dark green in the catalog picture, but it also has neon red splotches which make it look cheap.
