Very Comfortable. True to size. I was surprised by the appearance, the fabric seemed "pilled".

Well made and heavy enough to keep me comfortably warm. I recommend ordering one size up to allow for the considerable shrinkage, however. This was one of the very few items I've had to return and re-order a larger size because of shrinkage. But otherwise I love the sweater.

Good quality, great fit. Not sure I like the speckling throughout which wasn't mentioned or shown in the pictures.

I don't know yet. Bought it as a Christmas present! I assume it'll be a very nice item, b/c it's Bean. We live in the south, and wool sweaters are often too hot, so this style in cotton should be just right.

This is a classic cotton cable sweater, but with a caveat. There are these extra colors woven into the yarn which I think are meant to make it look kind of like tweed. However, the colors rather than blending in stick out, and in some of the sweaters look, to my eyes and taste, as gauche. I'm actually returning one of the sweaters because the contrasting yarn color looks awkward for lack of a better word. I would prefer more traditional colors in the contrasting yarns or just a plain, solid color. That being said the fit is good and true to size and it is a nice heavy cotton sweater for year round wear.

This is a lovely sweater and overall color but the first thing I noticed were little flecks. At first I thought it was packing material but its part of the yarn. Fits rather slim.

I own around 20 LL Bean shirts and sweaters, they're all size L and they fit great. This sweater in a size L was tiny, skin tight, and the sleeves were too short. I'm honestly wondering if the one I received had the wrong size tag sewn in at the factory by mistake. It's a bummer that I have to pay return shipping to exchange it, but I sent it back for an XL. That said, it's a beautiful sweater. It looks nicer in person than in the website photos, honestly. Great weight, lovely yarn.

Bought this for son, who is thin & 5' 8.5" tall. We thought that llbean may have sent a women's sweater by mistake but label clearly states Men's M. Sleeves and length of sweater are very short. Wanted to return for Large but the sweater is on backorder.

Bought the exact same size in another color which fit perfectly, but the Charcoal is noticeably smaller with shorter sleeves. I think we're witnessing the decline of the LL Bean standard. Too bad.

I was really excited to receive this sweater, but I was immediately disappointed when I saw it in person. I got the "Oyster Tan Donegal" option, but the "donegal" turned out to be random flecks of black lint mixed into the sweater and falling out of it. That's simply unacceptable, especially for a $100 sweater. Otherwise the fit and fabric were okay, but I couldn't keep such a crummy looking thing at that price. I'm guessing the solids are okay, but I would steer clear of any "donegal" options.

Nice sweater, However it loos like crumbs were dropped on it (all over). I guess it is part of the heather color scheme. I could not tell this in viewing the on line color

Full honesty, I returned mine. Quick note, this ONLY applies to the dark green one. It's a great sweater, but I didn't zoom in enough to see the color flecks all over it. If it didn't have the weird colors, it would have been a 10/10.

I was surprised that this sweater , despite its name, was not very soft. It is a pretty standard sweater but the feel was stiffer than other Bean cotton sweaters I have previously worn.

I really love the soft texture and fit of this sweater. I have an athletic build with a slim waist and large shoulders and arms, and I like my clothes not to be too tight or baggy. This is a very classic cut that is still flattering to my chest and shoulders. However, the donegal flecking isn't really attached to the sweater, it's kind of like they sprinkled it on top, so it has been falling out everywhere, and I'm not sure how long it will last. It's not truly part of the knit, which is disappointing.

So disappointed! This XL red sweater was at least one size smaller than the navy XL I ordered last month. By the time it arrived and we saw that a larger size was needed, they were sold out.

Too loose at the bottom band; hangs too loose; not a good buy

Very comfortable but there are pink pieces of cotton all throughout. I can pick them out but am hoping they come out in the first wash.

I returned it. Didn't like the color. Fit was perfect.

Fit perfectly before washing and after washing, but just shrunk enough to make it fit poorly. Now it's almost unwearable.

The fabric felt abrasive. I ordered 4 sweaters from LL bean at the same time and this is the only one I didn't like

I must confess, I am puzzled by this sweater. I very much like the color and the knit pattern. What is confusing is the white, pencil points of fabric throughout the sweater. It looks like it continually needs to be gone over with a lint brush. I asked the salesperson about this and was told that was the design. The salesperson even pull up on the computer a picture of the sweater and you could clearly see the white dots all over it. Bottom line, not my "style".

I've been looking for a new cable knit sweater to replace a favorite. And I was delighted to find it in dark teal , my favorite color. Ordered it received it, tried it on. I will never buy another piece of clothing without seeing it on a big screen first. This sweater has what look to be small gold balld of lint. I returned it. If LL Bean were to produce one without the decorative flourish, I'll buy it.
