The collar is so loose, it doesn't stand up like they used to. I own 6 others with thicker cotton and collars which can stay up.

Clearly, looking at the low reviews, this T-neck is too short in the torso -- and then, it also shrinks a lot in length, even washed gently on cold setting, plus low heat drying. You offer the long sleeve crew neck in TALL, and I am grateful. I have a lot of those. I will not try your T-neck again unless it is offered in TALL. This is especially true in cold weather, when I am more likely to want to tuck in a top in order to keep my lower back warm. And even untucked, I want to be able to have it cover my lower back when I bend or sit and not reveal my back to the cold. We don't want to call and discuss the T-neck, or return it for a refund, or exchange it for another T-neck that will still be too short. We simply want a TALL option. I have been buying from LLBean for over 40 years -- lots of items -- but NOT this T-neck, until you offer a TALL option.

My husband purchased this turtle neck for me for Christmas.... I wore it for the first time yesterday. I wore a pullover quarter zip over it & when I took off the quarter zip at the end of the day the right sleeve stitching was totally hanging by a thread. So disappointed as I love my LL Bean clothing. Since all tags have been removed & thrown out, I have no option but to try to fix the VERY terrible craftsmanship of this item.

QUALITY HAS CHANGED. Terribly disappointed. Been buying these for years. It has been a tried and true staple. No more. Now the fabric is very thin and almost see-through. The turtleneck part was a "cowl" neck by the end of the day. Awful. C'mon Bean's !! As a FOURTH generation customer, you have really messed up what was an excellent product !! Please up your game.

The quality and fit were fine. However, I ordered the rustic red, which turned out to be closer to a dark orange rust, not red. Because this was far from the color I expected and nothing I could use, I was forced to pay additional postage to return it. Will think long and hard before ordering again, when I have to pay for something that didn't match what I was told to expect.

The fit changes from year to year. This time: square cut and very large. I'm returning it. The one I bought last year worked.

Very happy with the shirt, not so happy with the personalized part. Wanted FMT they did it as FTM when I chat with them they said that's how they do it. Well why ask for my personalized initials. Who says their first name last name then middle name.

I used to love LL Bean cotton turtlenecks, that were ordinary cotton, soft and durable, washed well, but thick enough my bra wasn't visible. Was delighted yellow turtlenecks were available again, so despite it being "expensive" I ordered one. I won't send it back because it will most always be under a sweater, but beware, these are super thin--probably yet another "save money" effort on the part of LL Bean.

The fabric (quality, hand and color) is beautiful; I'm returning this due to sizing and construction issues. First, the neck opening is very small, leading to stretching the neck portion and making it look wrinkled and tight. Second there is no binding tape on the seam that attaches the neck to the body of the T, and the thread used to construct the T is very rough, coarse, and itchy beyond belief. Which only amplifies the problem with the neck size. I also bought a mock neck Pima T, which has the same problem. The crewneck Pima T, on the other hand, does have the tape around the neck, it's soft and feels very nice. And finally, the thread mentioned above makes the whole shirt uncomfortable, along with the stiff fabric tag that's sewn in at rib-cage level. Does no one try these on before ordering the full lot? Placement at the hemline would be far less problematic for comfort. I even ordered a Plus size so it wouldn't be tight after washing. So I'm returning this, along with the Mockneck; color me very dissatisfied and disappointed.

I've been buying these for years. Sadly, my recent purchase was very disappointing! The quality of the cotton is very thin. So thin that you can see through it. This is no where near the quality that I expect.

I am very disappointed in this garment as it is unexpectedly short, out of the package. It ends an inch or so beneath my navel, so cannot reliably be tucked in, nor does it hang gracefully, being so short. The material is fine.

I've alway found LL Bean shirts to be soft and wearable, but the latest turtleneck shirts are so short, they cannot stay tucked into jeans.

I purchased this a few weeks ago and had it monogramed. I have washed it once in cold water. It shrunk "up" - before washing it was down to my hip and now it just reaches my waist. The shrinkage is completely unacceptable!

I wish LL Bean would do some quality control on their sizes. I fail to understand how I can comfortably in an XL Tunic turtleneck, but an XXL women's plus looks like I stole it from a thick 7 year old. I would like to be able to go to LL Bean and know when I pick up a certain size I know will fit, that it will still fit. Trying every blessed thing on it's friggin stupid and annoying considering what Bean charges for clothing not even made in this hemisphere. Do better.

Very disappointed, Bought a reg size small, the material is lovely but too short in body and arms, in the past this was not the case. Surprised to find out I will have spend $6.50 to return it. Will give it away. Not impressed with customer service or the skimping on the tops.

Ll Bean is such great stuff, but turtle necks need a zipper in the back! They'd be more than fantastic!

Bean's competitors have more accurate sizing. I washed the new t-necks on cold water and dried on low, and both are VERY binding at neck and wrists. Never again. LL Bean makes many fine products, but they are the only company I shop with where I have issues with sizing or fit.

This garment is not the same quality I am used to from LL Bean. There is no body to it; it hangs on a person. I have worn a large for over 50 years. I returned all three and will search further.

These turtlenecks have been a staple in my wardrobe. The recent purchase is 2 inches smaller at the underarm by measuring with ones I'm wearing. I will have to return them.
