I wanted to love this shirt, but when I opened the packaging, the chemical smell was overwhelming. This was not a problem with other LL Bean clothes I have ordered - just this style of shirt. I ordered 4 Pima Cotton shirts in different colors and all have the same problem.
I look for clothing that is 100% cotton for it's organic, skin-friendly material. Based on the great reviews, I thought this one would be sensitive-skin friendly. However, the strong scent (chemicals, dyes...not sure) was so intense that it made me concerned for how this shirt was actually manufactured. It is possible that the smell could go away after being washed, but I didn't want to risk putting something so infused with chemicals as my base layer. So unfortunately, they are going back due to the smell.

I have been buying Pima cotton T's for many years and still have them all after many washings and dryings. They are still like new. However, a recent purchase after one wash and dry shrunk badly and after comparing to my others noticed it was thinner material and even edges around neck is not the same. I am very disappointed in this purchase and not sure I can use this as a source for T's.

After two washings, the side seam came apart. Shirt is smaller than others I bought in the same style. The LL Bean return process is complicated, but when I was referred to a supervisor we worked out an exchange.

I have purchased these shirts and the fabrics is very nice but not good enough to make up for the fact that when they are washed and dried per instructions they shrink into midriff size!!! They can only be worn under another shirt so are mostly useless. I am now left without shirts and searching for another maker who knows how to make a shirt that can be worn after the first wash. I sure do expect more from LLBean.

Bought three colors, washed two, air dried one and dried the second in the dryer. Didn't wash the third. The shirt dried in the dryer shrunk over 2 inches.

I was so excited about these and they're so thin you can see every line of my bra through them. I can't wear them to work.

This top is made of very nice material, but it barely came down to my navel. Fit like a crop top. Very disappointing that a basic tee from LLBean would be sized so small.

This shirt is TOO SHORT. I don't understand why LL Bean makes this shirt so short. I am 5'7" and it fits me like a petite shirt would fit.

So disappointing, the t-shirt literally feels like plastic, nothing like cotton at all! The cut of the shirt runs small and the arms are very tight. Very odd, as I usually wear a small in Beans and they're usually roomy and loose. This sizing is off, but the quality is really bad, I won't be exchanging.

Great soft fabric, perfect length and fit (not too loose, not too tight). One wash and now its too short and two sizes down. I was hoping to replace these as my staple tee - back to the search for the perfect plain tees.

I'm not sure when I got the last light blue Tee but wore it only a couple of times and the stitching pulled out around the neck. I have purchased these many times over the years and this is a first. Generally, I would have recommended this product.

After washing and dry ing for 20 minutes my shirts were 2-3 inches shorter. Unwearable. They looked great until then. I guess we need to air dry and iron them.

I used to buy my t-shirts from Land's End but their quality control tanked when they moved their production to another country. I thought L.L. Bean would be much better but I was wrong. I bought two t-shirts, a medium and a large, (both Regular as Tall was not available), to see which would fit me better. The large (blue) is a couple inches shorter than the medium (red). What? I am already tall so short shirts just don't work for me and especially when the large size should be bigger. I guess I am going to have to find another supplier for my t-shirts. I am so disappointed. As you can see the blue shirt is supposed to be the large and the red shirt is supposed to be the medium. Again, this is so disappointing. No quality control whatsoever. This is my first and last purchase from L.L. Bean. I am not even going to bother sending these back. It's just not worth it to me to send the large back and hope I get a longer shirt next time.

Ordered an XL and sent it back before washing because I knew it would shrink. Beans - come on. Fix your sizing issues. Or offer Tall in this style. the fabric is nice but it shrinks significantly.

The fit is not right. Too long. I'd send it back if it didn't cost me postage. I already sent the small back-that was too tight in the back, but the correct length.

I have been buying these tees for many years and would always give them 5 stars. However I just purchased 4 this past month and after washing them they shrunk an inch in width. I have never had that happen . I compared the new one to the one I had purchased previously and the on difference was that the new one was made in Egypt and my other tees where made elsewhere. They were both 100% cotton. I was very disappointed. I hope they go back to the previous manufacturer.

I bought two of these last month and am very disappointed that the Pima Cotton material is so thin. The shirts required ironing since they looked so bad coming out of the dryer. And I always get my dryer emptied right away. I ironed them and the fabric is so lightweight that they are difficult to fold nicely. I bought some last year and they were much better.

The fit is not correct. It bunches in the armpit. I thought it was just me so I had my daughter try it on and it does the same thing.

I bought 2 of these (sized Large). They arrived in a timely way. I loved the colors. They fit before I put them in the washer (cold water) and dryer (low temp), but unfortunately they both shrunk--a little bit more snug in the shoulders but it shortened up by more than an inch, so that the midriff is exposed and it doesn't cover the waist band of my slacks. (At first, when I pulled it out of the dryer, I thought: "Did I accidentally buy a crop top?) I called customer service and will work on returning it and getting a refund, which should be easy enough to do. Their customer service is great. Unfortunately, there is some issue with the fabric--perhaps not pre-washed before it was produced? I saw at least one other review that noted the same issues. Still love L.L. Bean, though.

I tried on the 4 tees I ordered when they arrived. They fit fine. Washed them the same day in cold water and dried on low. They shrunk so badly I couldn't wear them. Returned them. I don't like to write bad reviews, but Bean needs to know about the quality of these shirts. The darker colors shrunk more than the lighter ones.

I have purchased many of these shirts in the past and love them. I ordered two white shirts. The fabric of the new shirts is thinner, and the cut is smaller for the same size as the ones I already own (large). I am returning them.

I have been buying these Pima cotton tee for about 20 years. The fabric remains great, but the fit/styling is awful, in my opinion. Very boxy, great for a slender athletic body but not it that's not you. The neck is suddenly too high in the crew neck version, and the sleeves are a very masculine style. I know this is a tee shirt, casual. But in such a nice fabric it's nicer than just a tee shirt. But NOT styled this way. Used to be a much nicer flattering fit.

I thought I was buying more colors of the same tees I've purchased in the past but it's a totally different fabric. It feels like athletic sporty material and isn't comfortable or flattering. It says 100% supima cotton but it doesn't feel like a natural fiber. Super disappointing

I wear a medium top. Every top I own is a medium and a few smalls. I washed this and it shrunk up SO BAD my neighbors 10 yr old 5th grader can't even wear it. What a piece of junk. Wasted my money and your clothes have gone DOWN HILL. And paper tags sewn in the side seams? What kind of cheap junk are you selling?
