As attractive as this coat was, I found it to be rather stiff especially when I sat down in it. It was snug on me (I definitely would have needed a larger size, but they didn't have this color that I liked). I had to return it - def well made, as everything from LLBean is, but didn't work for me.

I wish the product description disclosed that this item is excluded from their repair department. At 2 years, the tooth of my zipper broke off and I wanted an LL Bean Specialist to repair my zipper- fully knowing I would pay as it's outside of the 1 year warranty. After speaking with customer service twice, no budging. They wouldn't even consider looking at the zipper as it's a "waterproof" item. I even offered to waive the waterproofing features. No luck. Was told to go to the local seamstress. I expected better customer service from this company and after investing $350 into this "forever" coat.

I returned the coat - it had no shape to it at all. I looked like a linebacker!

This may have been a great jacket but I'll never know from experience. I ordered a XL Petite. What I got was petite in the length of the coat but the sleeves were very long. Maybe very, very long. I was so disappointed.

I bought this last winter. I love this jacket. It's warm and waterproof, but the zipper just failed. This is the second Bean's parka in three years with a failed nylon zipper. I wish they would put metal zippers in their parkas; they last much longer. I won't be buying another Bean's parka.

Being a Mainer, I've grown up depending on LL Bean's outdoor gear. As an outdoor educator, I spend my days in every weather condition in Northeast Ohio. I need high performance gear to function properly. I bought this jacket for it's advertised warmth and waterproofing. It is warm albeit pretty bulky. For the first few weeks, every time I wore it my mid-layer was covered in tiny feathers. I decided that I could try and live with it, but three weeks after I bought this jacket, I was in cold wet snowy conditions. I was expecting the rain to bead up like in your advertisement, but the rain absorbed into the jacket. Overall, I'm disappointed in this jacket's performance. I am, however, relieved that you still have an incredible return policy. Unfortunately, now I need to find time use it.

This coat was such a great fit and look in black XXS, lightweight, and extremely warm. Sadly, whenever I wore it I would emerge covered in a layer of little feathers (I'm talking "Did she wrestle with a bird and lose?" layer). Regardless of what fabric I wore underneath, that layer of feathers did not shake or brush off easily. The lining of the hood and back was not waterproof so unless I had the hood up and the front zippered all the way up (above my mouth) in the snow or rain the lining and my whole back would be soaked. The underarm vent zips were bulky with no mesh layer to hold the shape - a good concept (this coat gets nice and toasty during a hike) but poorly designed. Thank you for allowing the refund/return but please go back to the drawing board on this one, LLBean. Not worth even a small fraction of the price with these major flaws. I'm trying out the Waterproof Primaloft Packaway Jacket instead and hoping it's warm enough and actually waterproof.
