I would love the boots except they are too big. My shoe size is 7.5. I ordered a size 7 asked on reports that they run large. Even with a thick sock they are too big. I should have returned them.

Way too large. I'm clomping as I walk although they're better with heavy socks.

I wear a 9.5 in most shoes, so I ordered down and received a 9. The 9 is still huge. I'm returning and will try an 8 because there is so much room in the toe. Overall, looks like what I'm hoping for in this boot

Just bought this boot the other day online and normally I wear a 6.5 so I ordered a 6 and it is still too big. Wish they had a kids size in this as that might be better for us ladies with smaller feet. Nice color though.

Bought for my daughter who normally wears a size 10 , I bought her a 9 based on the reviews but the boot fit however it was loose enough that the boot would come off without trying to pull it off.

Cute shoes but sizing is way off, usually an 8 had to downsize to a 6 which ended up hurting my bunion.

I typically wear a size 9.5 but ordered a 10 based on reviews but boy was i wrong. I returned the 10 for a 9.5 and tried to make them work but they are still HUGE! Not sure if a 9 would have worked but one return was enough for me.

I loved the boots I just received the entirely wrong size. Disappointed.

Very weird fit. I ordered a full size smaller, but the heel does not hold my foot. The front of the boot fits, if a little snug. Otherwise they look great. I really wish I could keep them, but there's no way I can walk in them. I hope LLBean fixes the problem because that's one good looking boot!

I am a size 8 in all shoes and ordered my first Chelsea Bean boot in a size 7 per other reviews. It was HUGE. I exchanged it for a 6.5 and my heel pulls up every time I take a step. The ankle elastic is overly huge and loose. I wanted these to work so badly but I don't think they will.

I was hopeful that these boots would fit me exactly. I'm am a half size and need a narrow shoe which is hard to find these days. However, these were too big and would slide around when I walked. This wouldn't be good for hiking.

Definitely doesn't have the same fit as the other 3 boots and shoe I have purchased from L.L.Bean. The Chelsea is larger and has less support being so short. I attempted to order the women's boot that zipped up the front and had a lining but it was no longer available so I gave the Chelsea a try and was disappointed. As usual, L.L.Bean made it very simple to make a return. Please bring back your zip up front women's boot.

they're so cute, and easy to slip on and off. the fit of the gumshoe itself is perfect if you follow the sizing advice of going down an entire size; however, the opening of the boot is far too loose for most feet i kept walking out of them. this could be easily addressed by halfing the amount of elastic; still allowing for ease in slipping them on and off, while also keeping the boot secure on the foot while walking. if you experience trouble finding boots that fit around your calf, these may be perfect for you; as for me, i had to return them.

Loose upper around ankle. Poor support. Room for snow and wet to get in. Upper rim chafes at my ankle.

I've wanted a pair of Bean Boots for years and finally found these. Love the color and seem well made. However I have bunions. One short walk and I knew these boots won't work for me. The toebox is just too narrow. I find it odd these boots are not available in a wide width. Will be returning.

I ordered these boots 3 times trying to get the correct size for my daughter. The first two were too large even though we sized down after reading reviews.The last pair were too small. And now I am paying to return them-ugh!

I loved these boots and wore them for a couple years but the soles totally came apart. I tried to get them repaired, but LL Bean does not repair these boots. Be warned, these are temporary shoes.

Opening at top is too large. Did not feel secure or comfortable.

I sized down as recommended and although it fit the length of my foot, the leather area around the ankle was huge. It felt as if I was going to walk out of them. Also glue along the seam between the leather and the rubber was clearly visible and wanting to separate and would have not long after use. I love LLBean and have been very pleased with other purchases so I was super excited for these boots and but was sorely disappointed.

I had great hopes for these as a slip-on slip-off. Alas, they have the same problem as my old LLB boots--they are theoretically slip-on but have a very hard half-lining which cuts into my foot when I try to pull them on. I'm returning these new ones with much disappointment.

Less than two years of using these casually to walk my dog the stitching is coming apart and the pulls fell out. Since they changed the return policy these aren't built to last anymore. So disappointed.

I really, really, really wanted these to fit well. I love the look. They do run big. I normally wear a 10 which is what I ordered, and had to return for a 9. The 9s fit well, but they won't work for long walks. My heel keeps slipping out because it's not fitted enough around the ankle. So sadly, I had to return the 9s. I think if it were redesigned where the leather in front (just above the rubber) would be pushed in a little more, it would make a huge difference. They are so pretty but not practical if I can't wear them for longer distances.

These are beautiful boots and I love the green and black choice, but they need to be re-engineered. I thought the top of the boot would be snug above my ankle, but it is wide open giving me the feeling that I might step right out of them! Not a safe or comfortable design. Some velcro straps that would make the leather snug around the ankle would bring me back to buying a new air. I had to return the current design. I was afraid I'd sprain my ankle.
