I love these boots and wear them all the time. I would give them 5 stars but there are a few things I could see others having an issue with: they run big. I am always an 8 and I believe I needed a 7 in these boots. Also, the fit is weird and the heels slip. That doesn't bother me at all but the store clerk told me that is why he didn't buy them. They are still some of the most comfortable footwear I have and I am considering buying the black pair.

I wanted to love these! Sized down from a 9 to 8.5 but still to big - the heel was very loose. I also border on wide feet and they felt tight around the forefoot. Overall they look well made and the blue color is nice.

These boots definitely run large. I ordered a size down based on reviews, but they're still about 1/2 size too big. They're comfortable and I love the ability to slip them on and off. The one con is that they're so big that they slide up and down when I walk, which in turn pulls my socks down. I need to wear long socks, otherwise my socks will be half off my feet after about 10 steps. Definitely order a size down and wear thick and long socks with these even if you do.

This was a Christmas gift to my granddaughter and the initial purchase proved to be a half size too big. Easy return and she now has the right size and appears pleased with a great boot. Kids are unpredictable so we will see long range where this goes. I have a pair of low cut Bean boots that I have owned for thirty years and still go to them on a wet day. Bottoms are a bit slick, and the laces are worn but they still get the job done. Dry feet! Anyone that has missed shopping in your Freeport store needs a Maine trip. Thanks again for keeping this iconic store a real plus. Bob Harrington former Mainer now in the Western mountains of NC. ( The cold weather pushed me South ).

My wife wanted the slip on beaners for Christmas. She said the ad for them recommended getting one size smaller for proper fit. They arrived when they were supposed to and they fit her perfectly.

Love them but they definitely run large. I'm an 8.5 and these fit more like a 9/9.5

I wanted throw-on-and-go boots. Great pull-on loops. BUT you'll need to carefully pick your size.

These are great but felt too big. I'm a 9 in Women's (if anything a (Wide) and these are so big they're almost falling off. But very good quality otherwise.

I wanted to love these but they were just too big. The quality and style were great. I read other reviews and ordered a size down but they still were too big. I returned them.

Sizing recommendation was perfect - thanks! Seem to be very well made. The fit look is not too clunky like my other winter boots - happy!!

I love these boots. Very easy to slip them on and off, so they are perfect to throw on when I want to walk the dog or run out for a quick errand. They are also very comfy. But I, like many women, wear a size 6, so I couldn't size down a full size as suggested as the smallest size they offer is a 6. They slip a bit when I tried them on at home. Not sure if I can keep them? I will try them with super thick socks or maybe an additional insole. It would be great if they would offer a complimentary extra insole (or a pair of thick wool socks) for those of us who can't size down as per the recommendations. :o)

Order your normal size. I made the mistake of sizing down a full size as many reviews recommended and the boots were just too tight even with very thin socks. If you want to wear these in cooler weather with warm socks, order your usual size.

Very comfortable and easy off and on. I bought these after returning the lace-up version of the Bean Boot which I found uncomfortable with the tongue and laces. Sizing is tricky though- I normally wear an 8 1/2-9 and I bought these boots in an 8- works well for me but definitely is on the snug side for width.

I wasn't sure how to rate these boots because the quality appeared excellent! 5 stars! Believe the people who say the sizing is WAY off. I usually wear a 91/2 to a10, and I couldn't make these work with thick socks. Unfortunately I tried them out in a muddy field, so I didn't think it fair to return them after they got muddy. I gave them to a friend (I'm not one to resell) with bigger feet. If I choose to order them. The price point was a hit, so I got a pair of Muck Boots that work fine but don't last as long for now. If I do get them again, I will go down to an 8 1/2.

Lovely boots! However, reviews advised to order one size down which I did and am glad for it. I have to wear thick socks to keep them from being sloppy. I'm one of those people whose left foot is larger than the right so will have to add insert to the right as it's a bit sloppy.

I own a lot of LLBean Boots and I find the sizing inconsistent which makes it very difficult to order online. I have a pair of lined bean boots size 9 which fit perfect and an ankle height pair of bean boots unlined size 8.5 that fit perfect. I chose 8.5 for these and they were so big I couldn't keep them on my feet. I returned for size 8 but probably need a 7.5. I would return again but I was charged for return shipping and I don't want be charged again so I will deal with the 8's.

These boots are well made, good looking, and functional. I adhered to the advice to downsize a full size. Mistake. I typically wear a 9.5 in US women's sized shoes. My foot is not thick nor wide. Per the suggestion, I ordered size 8.5. Okay... it fits IF I wear no socks or very thin socks. Wish I'd ordered a 9 if not my normal size. In theory, I'd wear these in cold, wet weather. That means SOCKS. The length is fine. The width is narrow. I have narrow feet and they are a bit snug. I would not want to wear thick or winter socks in this size. Wish I'd ordered my normal size.

I recommend trying on the boots in store. I ended up getting a size 2 sizes smaller than what I usually wear in other brands. I was wearing and will wear regular athletic socks with the boots, so I recommend wearing your preferred sock style when trying out different sizes.

I really love this boot but I need a wide. True that you need to size down but it's a little narrow for me. I am getting the other Bean Boot that does come in a wide but I wish it slipped on like this Chelsea.

I generally take a size 8, and so ordered a size 7. Too big. Returned them to an LL Bean store and tried on a 6 (too small) and a 6.5 . . . which fit lengthwise, but not width-wise. Not a common issue for me. Argh. Getting a different boot--one that comes in a wide width--and will dream of the day when I can get these gorgeous black and green boots in "wide."

LOVE these, but they do run large (assuming for thick socks). I'm a true 9, they flip around slightly.
