Fit of the older version (2018/2019) was perfect. New fit is so long for no reason. For this reason I don't wear it much anymore.

Love the comfort and versatility of the jacket. A small increase in water resistance would be useful but perhaps would affect the other great aspects of the jacket

One of the best mid layers I own for super cold weather and perfect on its own for spring/ autumn days out in the wild, I am a professional wildlife photographer and this versatile hoodie one stays with me all year round.

Every year, I buy my hubby a new atom hoody - reliable, multi-functional, and attractive. A big guy, he wears a XXXL. With few available, I buy them, immediately. Wish that Arcteryx was a more inclusive with sizing, for folks that are big and active. It's a 5-star jacket, but lost a star for exclusion in sizing.

I love the jacket. it's warm, light, and beautiful. Unfortunately, it suffers from the same consistent outer fabric quality issues that many have posted here. see pic. took me some time to figure out how this happened. it was just my wearing a backpack daily, and there must have been friction between the jacket and one of the straps of the backpack. never happened with other jackets, so this speaks to how delicate this jacket is. wouldn't recommend if you anticipate any activity other than walking...

What I would do for my "made in Canada" Atom LT from 10 years ago. This is my third time getting this jacket; each version is worse than the one before. Should have known the end was near for Arcteryx when HS kids started complimenting me on wearing it a few years ago. Travis Scott and Drake; I was fine when you'll were just making crappy music but why are you ruining my favorite brands? Stone Island too

The Atom Hoody works well as a midlayer and a standalone piece in mild conditions. Its versatility is unmatched, making it my go-to choice for various outdoor activities.
One of the standout features of the Atom Hoody is its excellent ventilation. Whether youre on the move or taking a break, it effectively wicks away moisture, keeping you comfortable and dry throughout your adventure.
The atomoffers decent wind protection, providing a shield against chilly breezes without compromising breathability. Ive found that the fit of the Atom Hoody is just right, allowing for easy layering without feeling too bulky. This makes it perfect for wearing under a shell jacket during colder days or as a standalone piece on milder days. The attention to detail in its design, such as the adjustable hood and zippered pockets, adds to its functionality and practicality.

Great fit, less bulky, but also a bit shorter. The Atom is really more like a SL than a LT. Love it, because it is more stylish, better fit for me and better suited in different occasions. Expensive yes. Love the logo but the hemcords adjusters should be of higher quality

Sleeves are too long when compared to earlier versions, its not fitted. I got a larger and its feels like an extra large.
I will be wearing my older model.

This is my 5th atom and almost perfect. While this jacket really is lighter the fabric feels very delicate and is really wrinkled. The insulation feels very thin but seems warm enough for early Dutch spring. Overall fit and finish is good. The hood isn't very adjustable.

This is my core jacket from 35 to 55 degrees, wearing the Covert fleece when its warmer, the Cerium when its colder or really windy, and the Thorium when its frigid. Looks great; nothing like it.

This is my 4th Atom and again a great piece of all round Kit. Warm comfortable for all year round use .I have 2 old size xxl and 2 XL to use under other kit as a mid layer. New advert 2024 says "Fitted Fit - This trimmer fit is patterned to stay close to the body through the chest, waist, hip, and thigh" This is NOT correct. I bought a XXL thinking it would be Trimmer than my existing one but its about 2" bigger in the chest and has longer arms?? I sent it back and bought an XL and its perfect - slightly bigger than the old XL.

Excellent all-arounder! I was looking for a jacket to fill multiple purposes and this one fit the bill. I live in northern Nevada and mornings/evenings can get chilly so I wanted a jacket to ward off a lower temp that isn't overly bulky. I'd like to easily shed it when the temps warm without taking a lot of room in the stuff pack or just holding it. We don't get a ton of rainier but when we do, the hood design is nice. The pull strings draw the hood close to your head and will surely withstand windy days (which we get *often*!). Myother jackets have helmet compatible hoods so it's nice to have a normal-sized hood.
My second purpose is to have a jacket that I can wear under my AlphaSV when I want something warmer in my layer strategy. I wear a base layer and a mid layer, and I'll tweak the mid layer based on expected temps. This jacket will be a very nice "heavier" mid layer to wear on cold days.
This is also my first purchased in the revised sizing. I wear a small in AT shells (traditional sizing) but in the new sizing I wasn't sure where I would land. I bought a Small and Medium expecting to return one. The revised small sizing was too snug in the chest but the Medium fit really nice. Glad I bought both!
Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I plan to wear it tonight at the local beer stop... :-)

Great jacket which works really well with my Beta AR when it is really chucking it down. Was out today with both in 6C with heavy rain and warmth and dry delivery was super.

The Atom Hoody checks every box for a perfect jacket, except for one major design flaw. I had the jacket replaced 3 times in hopes that I was just unlucky, but its a consistent issue. The left sleeve cuff has a problem in the seam where it digs into your skin, as shown in the picture below. The design not only has this problem but compared to the proton cuff it seems less durable in terms of tightness, shape. Otherwise its a fantastic product thatll impress you with its warmth to weight ratio and performance. I really want to love this jacket but I hate that my left wrist always has the seam lip digging in my skin.

I bought my second jacket in 4 years having loved my last one. While the products are great quality their support is terrible. After paying $180 for this year ago I fell and tore my sleeve. They charged me $80 for a repair and only allowed me to choose a very different color. It looks very obvious, awkward, and unprofessional. I felt like they should have offered a better discount in stead of this fix.
