The Atom Hoodie seems to be of good quality. However, the size increase for the Large from 42" to 43" chest makes the jacket a bit baggy and might put me off purchasing other products. I have great sympathy for people who have purchased generations of the Atom, only to find that they now slip between sizes. I suppose there's a lot more focus now on the leisure market and a need for bigger sizes. My other negative was that the jacket was shipped from Germany to the UK and was delayed by a strike. It's a long way to ship a jacket from an environmental perspective..

Don't get me wrong, the atom is still a great all around synthetic mid layer. But every year the quality seams to drop just a touch. Comparing my new atom(2023) to my buddy's 2019 model I can really see the difference. Somehow the old jacket still feels loftier. The internal fabric is far comfier and everything feels more robust. It's tragic but that's the way the company is going.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it works well. The size is a little bigger than I wanted. I wish I would've gotten it in a smaller size

I'm not a fan of the revisions to this. The Atom LT had a great fit - perfect for me in a medium. The new medium is baggier and longer. The zipper also seems poorer quality, not smooth, especially as you get near the top. I wanted to like this because my old LT is overdue for a replacement, but I will pass. Please bring back the previous LT...

I own alot of Arcteryx products including Atoms, Protons and Nuclei. I'm trying hard to find a WHITE jacket and had hoped this would be the one but no dice. Arteryx - please expand your product line to include White! Thank You.

I've read reviews that quality has declined over the recent years, but didn't pay that much mind to them. The zipper end has broken off in half through casual wear and nothing active. I expected a little more at the price point. Apart from that, this is a jacket I like for everyday normal scenarios.

Finally went on a climbing trip with my new Atom and had a blast until the zipper started catching at the top and it no longer zips smoothly. I know Joshua Tree is a harsh environment, but come on

Purchased in 2018, runs true to size. I am 5'7", broad shoulders (44" chest), and I wear a size L, which is comfortable. I love how lightweight it is, and typically wear this in the dead of midwest winters with a fleece midlayer, often in subfreezing temps. In temps below 20, I might wear something more robust. But this jacket can hold its own. The side fabric is breathable, and the outer shell performs fairly well in wet weather. The hood is boxy, and when on, it looks sort of funny - not the most flattering. That's fine, because I wear this for it's performance. Cinch elastic helps with keeping the hood on, and the chest pocket is handy. My biggest gripe about the design of this jacket is the side pocket design. The zipper opens down to the base of the pocket. So there is no lip inside the pockets. As such, anytime I have an item in my pocket and I lean to either side, the contents of my pockets will fall out. This happens with regularity. I've dropped my keys, papers, lip balm, etc. Luckily, it's while I'm tooling around town. If I were wearing this on a precarious hike, I'd be afraid to drop something of value down a side of a cliff or off a rock into a river. This is a major flaw. As such, I tend to wear my other jackets when doing anything technical.

I own two Atom LT's and have had at least 1 Atom LT in my wardrobe for the last 10 years. the quality is excellent and the atom is one of the one of the most versatile pieces I own. They fit great I absolutely love them, or at least I did. I wear size small and the revised fit is too tight for me. I tried a medium and it's too big. shame they had changed the sizing so I can no longer wear one. For me the fit of Arcteryx was the biggest draw, far superior to lots of competitors, but not with the revised fit. I hope they change it back

I bought the Atom hoody on Jan 2024 primarily for daily use. However, the fabric quality has degraded since then. For the amount paid, the product quality is bad.

I own many Arcteryx pieces, including two Atom Hoodys and one Atom Jacket, all of which are older versions (pre-2020). I purchased my first piece in 2012...an Atom jacket, size XL, which feels just as incredible as the day I tried it on. The amazing quality and fit has left a lasting impression. Fast forward 12 years later and the story is much different. I tried on the 2024 version at my local outdoor store and immediately noticed the shiny finish of the material which makes the jacket look and feel cheaper than the older version. The fit is very baggy around the waist and length is noticeably and unnecessarily longer. It's intended use is as a midlayer or standalone light jacket but it's cut like a parka. I've grown to be loyal to the brand but my recent observations leave me thinking that I'll be hanging onto my older pieces as long as possible and will seek out other brands if the trend continues.

I bought a previous version of the Atom hoody and recently noticed that the outer fabric had distorted and worn badly on the back and under the arms. I sent it back to Arcteryx for their assessment and they told me this damage was caused by wearing it with a rucksack. Considering this jacket is promoted as a mid-layer or outer layer for hiking I was really surprised by this response and the by the lack of ownership shown by Arcteryx for what is an expensive jacket. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PROMOTIONAL HYPE FOR THIS JACKET - IT IS NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE BUT FOR CASUAL WEARING ONLY, IN MY OPINION.

The new sizing is terrible. All my friends and family that used to wear this brands jackets can no longer find a properly fitted size. Very unfortunate to see this happen to Arcteryx; I wish they would bring back the old sizes that everyone liked.

Disappointed in the quality of the new Atom LT. I purchased an Atom LT jacket in 2017 and to this date it is the best jacket I own. I continue to wear it over the new one I bought. Even after owning it for 7 years, the quality of the material just feels better than the new version. The new version feels cheaper (almost plastic like) and as if it will soon rip while doing anything active. I wear my old one 10x more. It's unfortunate because for the high price they should have continued with the same material as the old version.

I love atom lt since day one I owned it . Super comfy and versatile but after only about month , the inside of left collar has already been pilling , not outer fabric, which only contact skin or hair ! Customer service said it's normal wear and tear and won't affect durability which I doubt just because it's such thin fabric and only one month usage with this issue occurred, quite disappointed!

This jacket initially seemed promising with its easy wear and lightweight design, but I've been rather disappointed with its durability. After only a month of use, signs of wear and tear are already evident. The exposed stitches and scuffed area near the pocket are particularly concerning, especially considering that I've only worn it for city walks and workno extreme activities. The quality falls short of my expectations, especially given the reputation of the brand, Arcteryx. I had hoped for a product that would stand up to regular, everyday use without showing such premature signs of aging. I believe there should be a higher standard of longevity, even for urban wear, and it's disheartening to see the jacket not meeting those expectations. I hope this feedback can contribute to improvements in the design and construction of your products. What would be your advice to get this repaired?

I bought this hoody in June of this year and have only worn it a couple times in the last two months. However, you can see that the part of the seatbelt touches is worn out. I contacted customer service about this, but the response was that this is normal and does not affect usage. I am very disappointed with this.

Old sizing was perfect. Now the small is way too small and the medium is too big. I own 6 of the Atom (formerly Atom LT) jackets and the most current one with the revised fit is just terrible. Sad these don't fit the way they used to

This product failed first use and it was deemed to not be covered by their warranty. The outer material is apparently virtually tissue paper, and tore in several places after a light push through some scrub oak on a hike. This is my 4th Arc'teryx jacket (I love the others) and I will not be shopping with them again after how easily this ripped and was refused to be covered.

Was sold this product as a base layer to my ski shell (i believe the rush is the shell) and was told this would hold up to spring skiing on warmer days. Took 1 sping skiing day to rip this coat and now you guys will not offer to honor your warranty. The " gore tex pro " on my shell is a joke as well, already stained after a season of use. Will be looking into a new jacket system this season, unacceptable customer service and quality.

Purchased this jacket for my husband last year, and he only wears it in the spring and fall, and it started pilling. It's so disappointing after all of the Arcteryx jackets I've purchased, that it happened to this one and when we contacted customer service, they told us to just shave it ourselves. They said it's caused by washing the jacket (with proper Arcteryx instructions) and wear & tear - so anpparently pilling is normal for all of their jackets except their old jackets. After the in-store associate helped us shaved it, it was still very visible. What a shame that the quality of Arcteryx has gone down so much. There are other stores that have completely replaced jackets/clothing for us, no questions asked. I'm rather shocked that after spending several thousands of dollars at their store, we were just told to shave the jacket and that it's supposed to be like that.

Very disappointed with my recent Arc'teryx purchase. I bought the Men's Atom hoody in a size small (I'm 5'7", 140 lbs) and it's disappointing compared to my Wife's Atom hoody from 5 years ago (named the Atom LT hoody at the time). I noticed instantly the material felt thinner and cheaper. The fit of the new Atom is also very boxy and I would not consider it "fitted" at all. I have an older Beta shell in size XS which I find can be tight in some spots so I ordered the Atom in size S, which turned out to be quite roomy. I definitely could have fit an XS and it still probably wouldn't be "fitted". The fit of Arc'teryx overall seems to have become boxier which is quite disappointing. I used to be a big fan of Arc'teryx gear but will have to reconsider ordering any more gear from them due to their decline in quality, unpredictable sizing and fit, and poor customer service.

Received my jacket 1,5 weeks ago and worn it only once, for 5 min, in my car. The lower backside of the fabric is damaged en looks like it is about to break. I can't believe how bad the quality is for the price this jacket costs. I own several jackets from RAB and this never happened. Not even after years of using them. I contacted the customer service so let's see what there reply will be. For the record, the jacket is 1,5 weeks old, and worn only once!
