I bought these pants over the summer planning to use them for hiking. As a reference I already have another pair in a more drapey fabric and love them. I was hoping to repeat the love with this pair, but they f failed to impress. The fabric is too stiff and doesn't lay smoothly, and the rise is like a high-mid, so they just poof out over my lower belly, which doesn't need any help, trust me. The don't feel comfy and soft, and they don't stay up, either, I'm constantly pulling them up after wearing them for 15 minutes. These are going back, I'm tired of avoiding them in my drawer. Going to buy a second pair of the other style.

These were extremely too large in a size I always wear (L)& I'm 5'3" and way too long for petite length. Had to send back.

I bought 2 pair thinking they would work is the gym as I like loose clothing. When they come out of the dryer ( regardless of when I remove them) they are so wrinkled? They always look like I slept in them. I wanted to wear them daily but I don't like to iron. I have pants, same size and fit, that work great. I will donate them.

I bought these pants for my wife. They fit fine, but fabric was wrinkled and crinkly. Instructions said to wash before wearing - we didn't do that because there was an obvious hole in the pants, near the waistband in the front. So they're going back. Big disappointment, not up to normal Bean quality.

Bought these pants in March and now the waist band is ripped and the elastic shows. Like the pants but disappointed in the quality especially for the price. Not up to their usual standards.

These pants have an exceedingly low rise. I'm long waisted (but not THAT long waisted) and the elastic waist of these pants barely reached my hip bones. So the fit was very odd and uncomfortable.

I've bought three pairs of these pants, because they're comfortable and great to wear in the summer. But each time the - ahem - RIPSTOP pants ripped in under a year. I followed the laundering instructions, so that shouldn't be an issue. I find that the Vista fabric stands up to hiking and running around after a toddler better.

Although the fabric is great for hiking pants, the rise was uncomfortably low for me. I'm of petite height and not large, but I am curvy. I had to return these.

Seemed to be well made, color as shown in catalog. Fit was odd - petite L was correct length, waist fit standing up but sitting rather awkward: too much fabric in front and not enough behind.

The pants fit well. 5'4" 140lbs. Size 10. They come out of the dryer very wrinkled and have to be ironed. Then they wrinkle of course as you wear them so you can only wear them once. I have enough ironing to do without ironing my casual clothes, too. I'm not happy with them.

Love the quality but sizing is way off. I normally take a 12/14 size so I ordered large. When I tried them on they were roomy but because they are 98% cotton I assuned they would shrink after washing. Nope! After wearing them for a very short amount of time they actually fall to the floor if i dont have the waist cinched as tight as I can. I contacted LL Bean but got no reponse at all. I'm out the cost of 2 pairs of pants that I certainly won't wear. My last LL Bean order!!!

Even washing a few times has not softened the fabric. I also found that after following the size guide they are way too big. Usually I'm happy with sizes from LL Bean; not the case with these pants.

1. The petite small size has a very low rise in the back. Caused a big gap when I sat down even with drawstring tied tight. 2. After one washing the pants shrank to a smaller length and the gap was big enough to allow me to pass for a plumber when squatting.

I was so happy to have pants with a phone pocket on the side. The only problem is that there's a snap closure, so when my phone is in the pocket, both sides of the snap hit the phone, so it clicks when I walk, and I'm afraid it will scratch the phone. My phone isn't big but it's too large to connect the snap. There's really no need for the snap, no matter what you're carrying in that pocket. So this is a disappointment. The other 2 problems are that the front is too poofy, and the material isn't as soft as they claim, so the drape isn't great... I'll keep them, but probably won't wear them often.

So disappointed in these pants I bought for hiking! Nice material (the only sturdy mostly cotton ones I could find), strong "knit" waist band, but I can't sit down without uncomfortable binding on the knees. I am very thin, can't imagine how a larger woman could even pull these on. Didn't like the slimy feel of the synthetic hiking pants, with "articulated" knees that I bought before. So now I have no lightweight hikers. Why can't LL Bean make some cotton hikers with "normal" legs?!

They have NO shape. Just straight all the way down. Legs are way to big. Would not recommend. I ordered a 10 petite. I have other pants from you same size and love them. I'm 5'2" and weigh 130. I live in Florida. Legs are not as large as these jeans,

These pants are nice in every way except for the SNAPS on the pockets. I had my phone in the leg pocket the first time I wore them and the snap broke my phone's screen! They need to replace the snaps w/either velcro or buttons because I rarely wear them due to fear of damage

I was disappointed in the fabric of these pants. I bought them for a trip and once washed per instructions required ironing to be neat. The fit was ok, but alsoonce washed it seemed to lose its sizing ( finish). .

These pants have changed. The fabric seems thinner and the cut is different, making the pants pull in the crotch and thighs with movement . It's worse in the grey pants. In order to wear them I'd have to order the next size which is really too big. I had to return my order and Was disappointed since, after all, it was llbean. Guess I'll have to wear my old ripstops, which are size small and fit.

I made this purchase based on another pair I had bought at the store. I was surprised and disappointed that the length was not the same; this one was ankle length. I'm not sure why the difference since the catalog ad appeared identical to my in-store purchase. Fortunately, I was able to return the item at no cost; I have requested an exchange, this time requesting the 'medium tall' length. We'll see what happens. This has not changed my view of LLBean; the quality and affordability are great.

Really liked the look and style of these pants. Great weight for summer. However, the material is too stretchy. When I tried them on they fit perfect. But when I wore them they didn't hold their shape and became baggy and stretched out and looked 3 sizes too big. I'd return them for a smaller size but I already took the tags off when I discovered this flaw. Unfortunately these will become my utility pants for work around the house instead of my casual going out pants.

I liked the general fit and look of the pants, but when I sat down, they pulled down in the back. I had to return them. I also would like the back pockets to be a bit larger. If you could solve the sitting issue, I would buy these pants. Color selection was good.
