The shoes are great but I can't wear them. I have no feeling in my feet, esp. none in my heels. Since your shoe soles are cut up in the back they give me nothing there to land on when I put my foot down. This throws me backward and causes me to fall over backward. I wish they were solid under the heel, then they would probably work for me.

I've been a server for 23 years. I've been trying HOKAs lately and bought these after a failed attempt with the Bondi SR being plushy but having no arch support. I bought these because they're the plushiest shoe with the most arch support that HOKA has. I thought they would be my dream shoe. Not so much. The arch support and plushy insole is probably the best I've ever experienced, but they totally dropped the ball on the ankle of the shoe. Its lower than other HOKA shoes I've tried, like it doesn't even come up over my whole heel, and there is no cushion on the neck of the ankle part. If I tie them tight enough to keep my heel from slipping out they're too tight on the top of my foot. You'd think that when designing this shoe, if someone is needing the most arch support possible and the plushiest softness possible they'd also want support in the ankle. My Achilles tendons are burning halfway through a work shift. If I put the laces all the way through to the last lace, there's a lot of pressure where on the top of my foot where it meets the ankle. It breaks my heart to have to return these because the insole is EPIC.

Are these sneakers comfortable? Yes. Do these sneakers last? No. I only moderately use my sneakers and the soles are falling apart after one year. Very disappointing considering the price.

This is my third pair of Gaviotas and I am wondering if I'm just overly used to them, or if something has changed? This pair does not feel as supportive, structured, or cushioned. I have 3 other pair of Hokas, and I've been very loyal to this brand for several years. Now I'm feeling like I have to start over in my search for a good walking shoe.

Pretty color combo. It had a weird fit for my feet. I got these to help with some mild pronation, but it made my feet sore under the arches. It was like more arch support than I needed I guess? It was cushy but the deep heel cup actually made my instability worse. I'm going to try a more minimalist shoe and see how I do.

I bought these in Feb it is Sept and they are toast. Also I purchased 7 wide because that is what I normally wear in Hokas, it was way too wide, not like other hoka shoes I have worn in the past. I am disappointed because they were expensive and did not last very long.

I really wanted to like these. But I don't. They are so big at the heel, there is NOT the stability that I was looking for. The plus is the toe box, however, it's pretty "gappy" on the top. Super disappointed overall.

The Gaviota was my introduction to Hoka several years ago, with great results. I'd switched to the Clifton 8, also with great results and a less cumbersome shoe. Dealing with a foot/ ankle injury I thought to return to the Gaviota. It still has good support, but remains a cumbersome shoe - doesn't move with your foot. That may be just what you're looking for re stability. Not for me now.....

I ordered the frost/rose gold (11W) earlier this year and after getting over the "clown toe" look of the shoe decided to order a solid black for the fall/winter. I found my first order of this shoe to be quite comfortable for my flat feet, though not as plush as I would have liked. However, my most recent order of this shoe proved to be too small. How could that be? Same brand/model shoe, no changed in my feet, so why weren't my feet happy? Does the fit depend on the shoe color? Buying shoes online should not be this frustrating. Needless to say, I returned them.

I am returning this shoe. It is too black and does not look youthful. It looks too senior citizenish.

Not as "cushiony" as I expected for a shoe with this price tag. Also, I usually wear a wide in athletic shoes but this one is EXTREMELY wide.

The gaviota are entirely too large. Typically wear 7 1/2 w in Bondi. Ordered correct size. Too large. They are not attractive. They make my feet push back onto my heels a bit. Unstable for my ankle.

The toe box is so wide on the new 5 that my insoles are too narrow and there's a 1/2 inch gap along the outside edge of the shoe. It's not bothering me yet, but it might happen. I have very high arches and the 4 were perfect with my insoles added. Super disappointed that you made your already wide toe box even wider. It seems unnecessary

I LOVE these sneakers, but I am SO disappointed with Hoka's quality. They deteriorated quickly; I only walk my dog in these and I feel like the support is zero after only a couple months. Fantastic shoes if you have a wide foot and only use them casually, but these are not great to run in. I ran a sprint triathlon in these and ended up with a stress fracture.

I have been wearing the Gaviota for over six years now and the new Gaviota 5 has a completely different fit and look! For me there is more fabric at the top of the laces and it bunches up. My foot looks like a duck, it looks much wider .

I loved the Gaviota 4 The gaviota 5 is so wide, regular fit not the wide fit, they look like clown shoes. They're comfy, and the HOKA survey says the Faciota 5 is best for my needs. I'd return for a different model, if I knew which model to pick. Until then, I'll keep wearing these clown shoes.

I convinced myself to splurge on this shoe purchase. I knew I needed to start caring better for my feet, as a young nurse and mom. I found that the shoes are comfortable at first, but quickly start to hurt the bottom of my feet! Like the outsides of my feet are on cement. I'm super bummed, I wanted to love them so bad. And they aren't cheap.

These shoes are a bit wider than my Bondi 8 wide which causes a gap between my custom orthotic (which fits perfectly in the Bondi 8w) and the side of the shoe. This causes discomfort down the outside of my foot. Otherwise, I really like the shoe. It's just not right for me.

While this shoe was not a complete disappointment, it wasn't up to my expectations. I was hoping it was cushier, and when my feet were actually hurting and my neuroma was more agitated, I knew that I needed to stick with the Clifton 9. I exchanged these and I am glad that I did.

This was my first Hoka purchase. I liked the shoes but after one month only 2 days a week for a couple hours the bottoms started peeling away. I tried sneaker glue but it did not seem to work. You would think for 175.00 they would have lasted longer than 40 hours of wear before falling apart.

Just after my second time wearing my new sneakers the pull tab broke. Looking at the design it's VERTICAL and the top of the pull tab is NOT secured firmly and detached as I was pulling the tab. This is my 4th pair of Hokas. I have my other pairs for years and no issues with their HORIZONTAL pull tabs. Please fix. These shoes are expensive and I have come to expect quality. Thank you.

The comfort of this shoe is wonderful but I can't get past the looks of them on my feet. They look like clown shoes. Very disappointed on the latest design of Gaviota shoes.
