I am wearing it in the house and trying to get used to its feel. It is different than the arahi and I feel a little unsteady. Very comfortable and cushiony. I am hoping this will be great for walking.

I have been wearing Arahis forever to run in and wanted to try the other stability shoe. I wanted to love these. I do not. They are stable, I will say that. But they are also very cumbersome, wide, heavy, it's like running on skis. Going back to my old standbys. Will never purchase these again. Maybe a good walking or everyday shoe, but not for me for running.

Something inside of right shoe kept rubbing foot. Will try different pair.

It's like they had a bunch of colors that no one wanted and needed to get rid of them, so they used them all in this line. Jacking up the price to an ungodly ridiculous amount for a shoe that is not as comfortable as the previous version just heaps on the insult. Avoid this shoe if you can-- I've worn Hoka for the past decade and the quality and comfort is definitely reduced in this shoe, plus the toe box is strange.

I loved the color of these sneakers, and really wanted to like them; however, I felt they weren't comfortable overall because they rubbed against my ankle. I also disliked how wide they are. They looked a little like clown shoes for that reason. I love Hokas in general, but I sent these back.

I have terrible problems with my left arch support as well as other issues. I wore these for a few hours. My right foot was very comfortable. But my left foot at the arch was very painful.

These didn't work for me. My heel slipped on the right; no matter how tight i did the laces. Might have one foot smaller than the other. I thought they'd be perfect since reviews said the toe box was wide. I ordered my regular size 7 1/2. I need a heel that is raised up and snugger like the Hoka Challenger 7 that I purchased first in a 7 1/2 wide. This Gaviota is more stable than the Challenger 7 but I am keeping the Challenger 7 and sending these back. My back hurt after wearing the Challenger 7's the first day on the treadmill for 20 min. and thought they were not going to work. However, I tried the Challenger a second time and have been walking in the stores and the hallways in my apartment building and no more back ache. Maybe my body just needed to adjust to them which it apparently did fairly quickly. HOpe my review helps. If you have problems with heal slippage, this may not be the best, who knows? Not a fit for my feet.

My first pair of Hokas. They are nice shoes but not worth the money. Average fit and comfort. Too expensive for me.

I've had 3 pairs of these Hokas.
All were very comfortable.
But all 3 pairs have a squeak to them after about 6 to 8 weeks.
I thought it was a fluke on the 1st pair, but nope 2nd and 3rd did it too.
Great light and comfortable shoes, but I can't deal with the squeak!

I love these shoes, but they did not seem to hold up as well as other pairs I have purchased.

Well built and liked the fit but it just wasn't right for me.
After having surgeries and other issues I needed more cush in ball of my feet. The heel was great but not so much elsewhere.

I have worn Gaviota’s for years and I so wanted to love these shoes. Though the material was great, the wide toe and uncomfortable new H sole was offputting. I ended up getting Gaviota 4 once again as these 5’s were just not great.
I'd also recommend:
Gaviota 4!!!

May be good for others but not for me. My calves tighten and ache when I wear them. Also, my feet feel tired after wearing them. Not sure if they are lacking enough support or what. I've been trying to make them work but don't think I will be able to do so.

While I appreciate Hoka footwear, I regret to report a defect in a recently purchased pair. The shoes are causing unacceptable rubbing on the top of my foot, which is unexpected given their cost.

Tried these out recently but did not enjoy. I have mostly Bondi 8's and 7's and love those. Saw the colors on these Giovata's and thought I'll try them. They hit very differently than the Bondi's and I don't like it. They also run bigger than the Bondi's. Much less plush. I will keep them for walking as I do like the colors.

Nice shoe, funny fit. Too bad, must return. Nice that Hoka makes many different styles and Zappos makes it easy to try more than one.

The grips on the bottoms of the shoes are starting to peel off. So they drag the ground when I walk. I've only had them for 4 months, mainly wear them inside the hospital. For as much as we pay for these shoes, they should last at least a solid year. This was my first pair of Hokas, and I was excited but now I'm worried they aren't reliable.

Love the cushioning in this shoe and how the heel cup isn't the typical high cup seen on most sneakers now. And the toe area - BEST EVER! So much width in a regular width shoe! New Balance used to offer this but no more and I've been searching and searching for a proper replacement. I was thrilled to have finally found this in the Gaviota. However, and it's a big HOWEVER, the stability aspect of this shoe is murder on my feet. I'm so disappointed! Please, please Hoka, make a neutral version of this shoe!!

I ordered these for work. I'm a nurse and have been wearing Bondi 8's last several years. Bondi 8 was the best shoe I've worn in my 22 years of nursing. My knees, feet/ankles and hips gave me no problems. I wore these 1 day and I ached all over. I wouldn't recommend if you're in the medical field. Gina is a great shoe, I just wouldn't recommend for those who are on their feet constantly.
