Not as "cushiony" as I expected for a shoe with this price tag. Also, I usually wear a wide in athletic shoes but this one is EXTREMELY wide.

The gaviota are entirely too large. Typically wear 7 1/2 w in Bondi. Ordered correct size. Too large. They are not attractive. They make my feet push back onto my heels a bit. Unstable for my ankle.

The toe box is so wide on the new 5 that my insoles are too narrow and there's a 1/2 inch gap along the outside edge of the shoe. It's not bothering me yet, but it might happen. I have very high arches and the 4 were perfect with my insoles added. Super disappointed that you made your already wide toe box even wider. It seems unnecessary

I LOVE these sneakers, but I am SO disappointed with Hoka's quality. They deteriorated quickly; I only walk my dog in these and I feel like the support is zero after only a couple months. Fantastic shoes if you have a wide foot and only use them casually, but these are not great to run in. I ran a sprint triathlon in these and ended up with a stress fracture.

I have been wearing the Gaviota for over six years now and the new Gaviota 5 has a completely different fit and look! For me there is more fabric at the top of the laces and it bunches up. My foot looks like a duck, it looks much wider .

I loved the Gaviota 4 The gaviota 5 is so wide, regular fit not the wide fit, they look like clown shoes. They're comfy, and the HOKA survey says the Faciota 5 is best for my needs. I'd return for a different model, if I knew which model to pick. Until then, I'll keep wearing these clown shoes.

I convinced myself to splurge on this shoe purchase. I knew I needed to start caring better for my feet, as a young nurse and mom. I found that the shoes are comfortable at first, but quickly start to hurt the bottom of my feet! Like the outsides of my feet are on cement. I'm super bummed, I wanted to love them so bad. And they aren't cheap.

These shoes are a bit wider than my Bondi 8 wide which causes a gap between my custom orthotic (which fits perfectly in the Bondi 8w) and the side of the shoe. This causes discomfort down the outside of my foot. Otherwise, I really like the shoe. It's just not right for me.

While this shoe was not a complete disappointment, it wasn't up to my expectations. I was hoping it was cushier, and when my feet were actually hurting and my neuroma was more agitated, I knew that I needed to stick with the Clifton 9. I exchanged these and I am glad that I did.

This was my first Hoka purchase. I liked the shoes but after one month only 2 days a week for a couple hours the bottoms started peeling away. I tried sneaker glue but it did not seem to work. You would think for 175.00 they would have lasted longer than 40 hours of wear before falling apart.

Just after my second time wearing my new sneakers the pull tab broke. Looking at the design it's VERTICAL and the top of the pull tab is NOT secured firmly and detached as I was pulling the tab. This is my 4th pair of Hokas. I have my other pairs for years and no issues with their HORIZONTAL pull tabs. Please fix. These shoes are expensive and I have come to expect quality. Thank you.

The comfort of this shoe is wonderful but I can't get past the looks of them on my feet. They look like clown shoes. Very disappointed on the latest design of Gaviota shoes.

Wow, so wide! Why on earth is a B width so wide? The front half of the shoe is about .75 inches wider than my foot. Cannot lacetight enough to keep my foot from slopping around. I have not had this issue with Bondi, Clifton or Rincon.

I have owned 9 pair of Hoka's in the last few years because of foot issues and they feel perfect! I have been able to get pairs where there is OBVIOUS contrast between where the upper fabric meets the sole so they don't make my actual feet look overly wide as they do when there is no contrast. When Hoka uses the same colors for the upper and where the sole meets, it makes a person look like Big Foot! I always have to size up 1/2 a size for correct fit.

My heels hurt with these shoes. There isn't much Cushing on this style shoe. I wouldn't buy this style again.

I normally order the Bondi series but they did not have the mesh upper available so I ordered the Gaviota that came in all black with a mesh upper. I am on my feet for 8-12 hours at a time on concrete so I appreciate Hoka footwear. I like that Gaviota is lighter and not as wide on the foot base so it doesn't feel as clunky, but I am not convinced that this shoe has the same amount of plush comfort as the Bondi

I loved my Gaviota 4 shoes, but had to replace them after a year of use. The only option was the newer Gaviota 5 model. I purchased them thinking they would be just about the same as my older pair, but the new model is definitely bigger. I bought the exact same size I've always been in Hokas, and had to exchange them for a smaller size. Even in the smaller size, the toe area is still wayyyy too big/wide for me. Great cushion, just not sure they will work with the width. I'm still trying them out but may return them :(

I bought these shoes for work, I work in retail and I am on my feet for seven hours a day and a lot of walking and I mean a lot of walking. I am slightly disappointed with these. I don't feel the cushion like I do with the Skecher's Extra Cushion. I bought a pair a few months ago and had to return them because the toe box was too big. This time I ordered a 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfect. So far, I am not really impressed with these shoes.

Love the shoes, but despite Hoka telling me the regular shoe is narrow it was much too wide for my narrow feet
I'd also recommend:

They looked nice, but I felt off balance while wearing them. I also like the toe room that the Bondi provides and the extra plush feel.

Love these for the comfort and support. I have flat feet, and these are the best shoes I’ve owned for that. The only down side- these things are dirt magnets, I have to wash them weekly. Never had shoes like this before
