These shoes are so comfortable for walking or running. I feel amazing when using them, and they are great. I wish they were a little more stylish and less chunky, but if you are looking for a low-key shoe for daily morning walks or runs, these are it.

Love how they look (they draw comments), and I can walk without pain in my feet and legs. This is not true of all Hoka styles, much to my surprise! (I've had to return some pairs because of the comfort issue.)

Nice shoes toe box seems a bit wider not as much cushion as Bondi 8s .

Thought I would give something else a try after many years of wearing HOKA Bondis. The Gaviota wasn’t bad but definitely get a bit narrow as compared to the Bondis. Will stick with what I know works!

They feel very similar to the Bondi seven however they walk not smoothly at all so all in all, I was hopeful about the shoe, but very disappointed

I recently picked up 2 pairs of Gaviota 5 from my local run clubs (2 colors). The Gaviota 5 has the widest toe box of the Hoka line up. What brought me to Hoka about a decade ago was the high cushion ride, fun colors, and wide toe box. I felt crazy in 2022 when I bought a Clifton in February and it didn't fit well. I'd previously had 3 pairs of Cliftons that I loved and fit great (shout out to the Outdoor Voices collab line). I've been buying Hoka since it was Hoka One One and we were on the Challenger ATR 2. I love the current Gaviota toe box but was told at the run club that we might see it get narrower in the fall/winter Gaviota 6 drop. Please please please just leave a model or two for us wide toe box loving girlies. I need the space and the cushion. I don't need the stability, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I love colors, so swapping to the men's is boring and depressing. Also, concerned a wide would be too wide through the midfoot and heel, which is not a need of mine. Overall, I miss having more options, but as long as you have one for me, I'll come back... but please please please keep great color options!
(Run clubs I went to were Fort Worth Running Co (highly recommend),Fleet Feet (fine, but busy), and Lone Star Running Company (had what I needed, stricter return policy).)

5th pair of Hoka shoes - all others Bondi. When lacing these shoes the tongue wants to lace crooked. Just annoying. Beside this this a great pair of shoes.

Wide enough toe box so my toes don't hurt. Stabilizing and supportive.

The Hoka Gaviota 5 are the only shoe that I have found that I can wear all day or a lot of walking. I have a stability problem and arthritis through out my back & legs, that requires all the benefits of the Hoka Gaviota 5
My only negative is the cost. I would love to have 2 pairs so I could switch off, I just don't have that much in my budget.
Love the shoes

The regular width was too tight. The wide width fit better but there is a irratation from the tongue on the inside (I think).

As my arch has fallen and I have other foot issues, Hoka wide has become my go to for walking on cloud comfort. Gaviota 5 is just a bit too much of a good thing- they offer a very wide toe, that would work well for people needing to accommodate bunions or foot surgery. For this stage in my ever developing foot and ankle saga, the Mach 6 wide is primo

I actually really liked these shoes but even the B width was insanely wide. Like shockingly wide. So I had to return them. The gray color with the rose gold accents is really pretty though. I got the Bondi's instead, they were no where near as wide as these.

Fit was spot on. The regular width was plenty for wide feet. Comfortable cushioning. I just didn't like the rocker style when walking. I prefer a more flat shoe.

average width is more like extra wide when compared to the Bondi 9. support is decent but definitely not plush.

These shoes feel great on my feet. They're a little loose at the toes but not enough to matter. I just walk in them, can't run anyway. I would recommend getting a pair if you want a soft padded feel under your feet.

I have been suffering from shin splint, because I wore the wrong shoes. Hoka Arahi and Gaviota are the only "stable" shoes. It was like Cinderella, first time I tried on the Arahi, absolute zero pain!!! I wanted to cry. Then I found out Hoka had the Gaviota, so I had super high hope crossing my fingers. I actually bought the Gaviota 5, for its plushiness and stability. I tried wearing it around the house, end up tripping over my own feet. I bought a pair for my son, and he had the same problem. I made sure it's regular/narrow width. These seem a bit too wide? To make it work, I would have to change the way I walk? I hope hoka considered our feedback, and make some changes. Also, I hope it's available in GTX.

I was looking for a walking shoe to fit high arches, wide feet, and narrow heels. These are great! I usually avoid a thick, really padded sole but after one day of wearing them, I was comfortable and happy. The heel feels a bit roomier than I'd like but I just use the last 2 lacing holes to lock in the heel and wear thicker socks. These are a good alternative to Altra, which use to be my go-to.

I bought a 2nd pair of the giovanni shoes as the first one was soooo comfortable. While these are comfy, they squeak!! I thought that it would go away as I broke them in but no, still squeaky! Its not a huge deal because I wear them mostly for working out and walking the dogs. Not sure if its just my pair or a flaw in the new style. Still very comfy though!

I ordered the Graviota 5 based on the assessment provided by Hoka. Unfortunately, I was still having very bad pain specifically related to my plantar fascia. I bought some additional heel inserts which help subside the pain. But now I am having trouble with the ball of my foot possibly because the heel insert is causing me to put more pressure in the front part of my feet. My mother bought the Bondi 6 sometime ago, and when she came to visit, I tried them on. They were substantially more comfortable to me than the Graviota 5. The Bondi 6 has way more cushion on the ball of the foot. I would not recommend buying online as it is hard to tell how issue is going to fit and feel.
