They're very uncomfortable in the toe box areas. I returned my first order of 9.5 for 10 and they are still too tight. I ordered this style for the advertised roomy toe box area due to hammer toes and Bunions. I'm not sure of what to do next. This is my first try out for HOKA brand.

This is my 10th pair of Hokas , they made running without shin pain possible again . Charging shipping at these high prices is bad business though .

I tried A LOT of shoes on before picking these. I guess I'm picky. These work. I'm a hairstylist and wanted something for support. I don't love the way they look but my feet and ankle feel supported. I hope they last awhile.

Perfect price for a perfect shoe! Only reason for a 4 star is the left shoe's fabric is faded in small areas.

Hokas run big so size down. I'm usually an 8, or sometimes a 7.5, but for these shoes I am a 7. Also, I have wide feet, and the Hokas work well for that. Good support, good cushioning. I'll admit that I prefer the feel of the OnCloud sneakers, but the squeaking made me crazy, so I'm a Hoka convert.

The Gaviota 5 has decent arch support for my high arches. The former style in Clifton 9 was perfect for my shape foot, for both exercising and wearing to work at hospital. But, in moving to the upgraded version in the Clifton 10 (and Clifton 9 GTX), I found very little arch support. The Gaviota 5 is super comfortable, stable, with good arch support for me.

I was dealing with plantar fasciitis for so long and tried many things. I did PT, inserts, stretches, chiropractor, and even got a cortisone shot. I was scared to spend so much on shoes and end up having them not help. My heal finally does not hurt!

I am a very loyal customer and I love my Hoka Gaviota 5s. I wish there was a way to buy the retired Gaviota 3s again. I bought my oldest son a pair of Gaviota 5 s because he works in a grocery store too and he loves them. They are very supportive and make my feet feel wonderful

The shoes are excellent support, but I guess with my one foot experiencing p.t.t.d. It is painful at times on that foot. Hopefully as I strengthen the tendon it will feel as good as my left foot.

I always buy Hoka but my last 3 pair have gone down in quality. The glue has separate from the sole on the inside of the shoe and Hoka would not stand by the shoe. The latest pair I received in December is making my right foot sore for some reason. I love this brand so much. What is going on?

The only thing I don't like is when I push my foot down into the shoe , the heal pushes down and it misshapens. It's not a shoe to just slip your foot into.

The style is not my style at all nor are the colors cause they all are pastel and get dirt so easy. Comfort though is great. I'm a massage therapist and wear them for working.

Great comfort and stability for all day standing and walking; good stability; insole flimsy so replaced; used in combination with new insole has helped with plantar; wish HOKA would have more styles available in Wide; exchange process for correct size was very easy and supportive; hopeful that foam support in shoe will hold up over time - overall very satisfied

The shoe is comfortable, I wear them all day for work. However they get dirty easily and a piece of the bottom of the shoe is already peeling. I've only had them for 4 months.

The heel where the foot enters the show gets a lot of wear and frays first- why cant they put a tougher rim at that edge faux leather or similar? Many other shoes reinforce that edge.

I have tried 4 types of Hoka shoes and the Gaviota 5 is the best shoe for me. I like the support at the bottom of the shoe. The heel to toe design is great light jogging and power walking on pavement. Unlike the Arabic 7, it is slip resistant on wet floors indoors and stairs. My only complaint is lack of arch support. I have yet to find a Hoka shoe with adequate arch support. I ended up purchasing a set of insoles to provide the support that I needed. I would still recommend this shoes because holds up basic outdoor athletics.

Years ago, the first model Gaviota saved me while recovering from a heel fracture. It was perfect, and I bought several since they worked so well for me. They were magical- I’d put them on and the pain would just disappear. Unfortunately, as time has passed each new model has gotten further from the relief of the original. I’ve tried other models, (eg Bondi), but the thick cushioning without the stability of the Gaviota is a proprioceptive disaster for me. The Arahi has the stability, but insufficient cushioning, and I’d rather die than give Brooks one more cent of my money considering how rapidly their sneakers disintegrate. So it’s the Gaviota or bust. I have narrow feet, and although a bit wider than the 4, these 5’s are still not wide enough to get decent toe mobility. I also find them pinchy at the instep, and have somehow developed a bruise on the top of my left foot. I’m still holding onto hope that we get through this teenage phase and back to the bliss of yesteryears Gaviota. I want the magic back.

After buying a pair of Gaviota 5s in a women's size and a men's, I have to say the men's is a better quality build. (Plus there are more color way options for wide feet). The upper mesh material is more durable in the men's, but the trade-off is that it's not as comfy as the women's. Overall, great shoe. I walked all day in New Orleans with these and my feet weren't barking at the end of the day.
