Store to try on. Immediately noticed my ankle rolls with every step. Have gaviota 3 are perfect, feels like my feet ultimate support no rolling ankle. Also the older version of recovery shoe built in arch feels like my feet.

What have you done to my Gaviata sneakers. They feel less cushioned, less fitted to my foot. I hate them! Did you alter the Gaviota 4 so much when you designed the 5? Can I still but Gaviota 4s????

I have purchased 2 pairs of this particular color and had to return both - they Squeak quite loudly. I think the soles are made of some cheap, squeaky material. Also the width of these shoes is more like an extra wide, so that was not good either.

I have worn Gaviota 4's and 3's and they were the perfect fit. The 5's are super wide and were so loose on my feet. I am so sad that they changed a perfect shoe. I am now on the hunt for a different running shoe. It is a completely different shoe! Now there is extra fabric at the toe bed.

So very sad. I have been wearing this model for years but they have changed it so significantly it isn’t the same shoe. The toe box is so extremely wide and the shoe provides no support. I do not recommend.

I also ordered the Clifton and Bondi in the same size, but my big toe was pushed up against the end of the shoe. Keeping the other 2 returning this one.

I struggle with high arches, pain in the balls of my feet, and numb toes. I've worn orthotics since I was 18 years old (40 now). I am a teacher and a single mother of 5, so I'm on my feet for up to 12 hours a day. I LOVED the Gaviota 4s. I had finally found my Cinderella shoes that I could go all day without pain or numbness. When the Gaviota 5s dropped, I was extremely excited to try the "even more supportive" shoe. They. Are. Awful! I wore them for the 55 days, and they do not have the forward foot padding or the toe box room that the 4s had. I even attempted switching from my usual size 8.5 to 8.5W, and it did not help. I was limping by the end and gave it up, that it is the shoe that is the problem, not my feet. I was told by a shoe store employee that the cushioning of the 5 was 'shifted back to work in a better rocker.' Well, maybe HOKA should have realized there are more foot ailments than plantar fasciitis. Now, I'm on the search again for a shoe brand that helps my issues.

I purchased a pair of Hokas from Fleet Feet a few months ago, the Gaviota 5s, I exchanged them 2 months in because the back cushion was fully down since purchase. I do not shove my feet into my shoes, I use a shoe horn. These are my 4th pair of hokas in my life and I never had problems until now. When exchanged, the new ones do the same thing but I can't exchange them again. The design is awful not having the cushion connected. I take really good care of my shoes so there is no reason for the cushion to slide down just from basic daily walking. Especially shoes MEANT for walking! These are extremely expensive to be so useless and feel unstable when walking because there is no cushion to help keep it over the heel. There has to be a better design

I LOVE my Gaviota 4's...I have 3 pairs of them. I tried out two different Gaviota 5's, and they don't fit the same. My heel slips out of them and my arch feels weird. Disappointed.

The Gaviota 5 is too big and clunky, and the tongue reaches up too high.

I am a healthcare worker and suffered from severe plantar fasciitis. I actually did the Hoka online recommendation and Gaviota 5 was recommended. I've been wearing Hoka for four years And have purchased the Rincon and Clifton, all have which been very comfortable.. I have the Gaviotas for a few months and really tried to like them. But they really are ann irritant to my heel and the toolbox is too wide basically not comfortable at all.

The changes to this shoe make it feel cheap and unsupportive. The bottom feels thin and the plastic-y material of upper doesn't move naturally. It feels like a cheap knock off. Unlike the last model, I cannot wear my inserts in these shoes that allow me to enjoy running again without my heel slipping out every step. Unfortunately, I needed to keep these shoes as my previous tennis shoes (the former model) were very worn out with no tread. I will be going back to Brooks after years of being a Hoka fan.

I ordered this shoe because I have posterior tibial tendonitis. The podiatrist gave me the recommendation. This shoe had no arch support. After wearing this shoe for a day, my knee started to hurt. The pain in my feet lasted for 3 days

it is too tight. The shoelaces are too short and for the price they are no better than the last pair of shoes I had that I was trying to improve to get more comfort. Very disappointed.

I have been a Hoka fan for year but they ha e changed. I can't even finish a 4 hour shift without being in Excruciating pain from the shoes, how they're made right now. This is the second pair I am returning in a month and a half.

I ordered a 7 1\2 regular. Was shipped a 7D. Returned and was shipped a 7B. Return those be cause I wore them 2 times on a 6 hour shift. My feet were burning and the insole when I looked at it was almost paper thin. Was told the 7B was actually a 7 1\2. Never got a 7 1\2. Very disappointed.

This is the second set of Hoka Gaviotas that I've purchased for my 10 year old daughter. The first pair were fantastic and lasted her a full year. This pair have been incredibly disappointing! The pull tab has shredded/frayed completely and she's only had them since 7/13/24. She's not hard on her shoes and has not done anything to cause the damage.

I've had gaviotas for a few months now and I wear them for 2-3 mile runs about 3x/week. Within 4 months, the back of the heel had basically disintegrated where the fabric layer and foam had degraded down to the plastic shell. The shoe is my size and doesn't feel too tight but for some awful reason, the fabric in the back is so unstable. This also happened with my Bondis after a few months. I've never had this issue with any other running shoe like Nike. Obviously it's too late for a refund. This is crazy coming from an expensive brand like this.
