I LOVE socks! But these were not ideal. Good colors, but thick yarn, feeling more like homemade socks, which i actually do not like. Since i got them on sale, i hated to use my free shipping (I have a LLBean card) to return, so will donate. They might be okay to lounge at home on a cold day, but way too uncomfortable for hiking, which was my desire for them.

I like the color but they're kinda stretchy. I thought they'd have a bit more support for a hiking sock.

Seems like a good sock, but my large socks were more than one inch longer than my 11.5" foot.

I just bought these in large (size 9-12) and I wear a size 11. These are easily an inch longer than my foot. I washed them hoping they would shrink, but too high quality for that. Just be warned.

The socks seem to fit a bit too tight for my husband's comfort level

Cresta Midweight Hiking socks are my go to socks for summer and winter boots. Relatively pricy but most comfortable and durable.

I have purchased Cresta medium weight hiker sox multiple times over the years, and have always loved them. The most recent version has noticeably less cushioning. They are now really a lightweight rather than medium weight. You had a perfect product and changed it for the worse.

The sock fits well EXCEPT the cuff is wicked tight on my ankles (and I have very skinny ankles)! I almost sent them back, but I was desperate for some warm socks so kept them hoping they'll stretch a bit. They do keep my feet warm, and I have cold feet! My husband also ordered some and LOVES them - no problem with narrow cuffs.

They seem too thin. My old ones are a little thicker

Approx 1 year ago I purchased this sock in Large, in blue, it is too large for my size 9-9.5 feet, and it never shrank. Tho the fabric is very comfy, it bunches up in my shoes. Now I purchased this sock in Medium in lilac, it is far too short and is tight crossways, my toes are cramped and the sock heel falls between my arch and heel
pad. I read the reviews. Seems this problem is not common for this sock? In the past and now purchased several other styles also in Medium, they are all ok. The recommend to friend is a caution to watch size.

Good sock but very ugly styling with vertical stripe. Just make it a plain sock like the smartwool hiking socks.

Good quality socks. Seem a little thinner than ones purchased several years ago. Run large. I wear a women's size 8 hiker and size medium are too large, so size chart is off. Will order small next time.

the socks seem fine, they are not the softest in the world. But honestly, i bought the socks because i needed minimum shipping on a sled, which still hasnt come ...........

For near $20 these size XL 13 to 15 are just big enough to fit my size 13. They could be bigger and true to size range. I was not impressed at all!

These socks are warm but the cuffs are somewhat tight and have had several threads
coming loose here and there. Only worn twice and only washed in cold water twice and air dried. I liked the old Cresta hiking socks much better......

The foot/toe length was fine (I wear a woman's 8) but the top of the socks are so tight that they gave me a very painful edema-like indentation just below my calf. I do not have large legs, quite average in fact. I had to give them away. They seem to be well made otherwise and the wool is soft and not itchy. Very disappointed about the overly tight top part.

the sock are described as unisex which is misleading. I bought the small but they are too big but for a man that would work.

I've ordered many pairs of the midweight, and several of the lightweight, wool Cresta socks over the years for gifts and for myself, including five pairs of this new version in midweight this year for Christmas gifts. The older version was better in several ways, including, IIRC, a higher wool content. These midweight socks feel more like the lightweight older ones. The older version used to get consistently excellent reviews, at least until recently; please bring them back. ........ The site won't let me review without choosing a fit and recommendation choice. I chose true to size, going by appearance as these were gifts. I chose yes, I'd recommend but only because nothing better is available from LLB now. I'd buy the older version if they were still available. Also, the older version was also available in a two-pack which was a much better value. ......
I don't like the trend of lower quality when products are redesigned.

With that being said, now here comes the bad news (and disappointment). Of course, I wear these socks seasonally up here in New England and I own several pairs. At the end of my second season, I noticed that the bottom of the heel is quite bare. Every other part of the sock is in great shape, but since I won't wear socks that form holes, they have quickly become throw-aways. Disappointed.
