Bought these for my outdoorsy son. He gives them five stars and two thumbs up. Note that he cannot stand a wool sweater but loves these wool socks.

After purchasing & returning winter socks from 2 other nationally known retailers, I ordered the LL Bean Cresta Wool Socks. The prior 2 purchases from the other (competing) retailers were either too small for the size ordered or too thin & I returned them. I live in the upper Midwest and warm socks are a must. LLB's Cresta Wool socks were sized perfectly and not too thinplus they are so warmdefinitely buy them!

I needed a pair of winter socks for those particularly cold days. These fit good and keep my feet warm inside my Clark's. They also make a great pair of around the house socks on the colder days.

I love these socks for keeping my toes warm during January fishing in New England. I ordered another pair so I'd always have a go-to when the first pair is in the wash.

I bought these for my husband, looking for something a little more durable than cheap socks - these fit very well and are holding up to our new walking regimen with no sign of wear. I will buy more.

I have worn LL Bean socks for at least 15 years. These medium weight are great and feel like they are made well and so far wash well (I don't put in dryer) and they are good with my boots and comfortable.

Love these socks. They keep my feet warm and are not itchy! Have 2 pairs and will buy more.

I have bought these socks before. I would say I have been wearing them for 3 or 4 years. They are finally getting thin. That's why I ordered more. I really like the fit and comfort of these socks. I found that my feet don't sweat as much as they did with cotton socks. They are easier to pull off at the end of the day. Even on a hot day. They don't get smelly like cotton socks do. They last 3 or 4 times longer than cotton socks. Very much worth buying. Actually cheaper in the long run. Very highly recommend them. I will buy them again and again. Thanks LC

Fit is good. Socks are not too thick or too thin. Nice warm socks that I will wear a lot this winter.

Hubby loves these and loves everything red - perfect new color for him. Very warm and has a nice cushion on soles of your feet, even compresses the calves, which is an added bonus. Pricey but worth it. These last for years.!

Over the years, I have purchased Cresta wool socks many times and have never been disappointed. These I bought for my husband and he seems to like them. They are comfortable and warm.

I needed mid-weight socks to wear on my morning walks, and these are perfect. They fit and feel great, and will keep me warm as winter approaches. Plus they are good looking socks. Very happy with this purchase.

Pretty sock but was too big. I thought it was just mismatched packaging, so exchanged for another medium, still toooo big. I double-checked the online details and it still says if women's shoe size is 6-10 get a medium. I wear a 71/2 shoe and it's still way too big. Been buying Bean's Cresta socks for years and never had this problem before!

I have been purchasing this sock for years, however the latest version isn't as cushioned or as substantial as previous versions. Also the foot size seems to run longer. They are still nice socks but I don't like them as well as the older socks I have owned for many years.

These are really nice, good texture, comfortable, but they're huge. I honestly am unconvinced there wasn't some sort of error and the wrong size was put into the packaging, because I always buy the same size socks and these were gigantic on me. It wasn't worth the effort to return them at this price point so I gave them to my boyfriend. He likes them! Just size down.

My foot is surrounded in comfort, including a cushioned heel.

Nice socks with good cushioning. Glad to get XL size that actually fit. You can feel the weave on the underside of your foot and it is slightly irritating. Might not bother most people, but my feet are more sensitive.

I purchased these socks to replace medium weight smart wool socks purchased at LLBean MANY years ago. I had heavy weight, medium weight and light weight socks in the smart wool for LLBean style. After the airlines lost my luggage and all three of my medium weight smart wool socks, I purchased these to replace them. The socks are nice BUT no where near the midweight protection of the smart wool style. To me, these fell like a light weight sock. I use them for horseback riding while wearing a pull on western boot. For this use they are OK while riding but not protective enough while on the ground around the ranch. I would not be able to wear these with my hiking boots for moderate hiking. Just not enough cushioning or protection for a midnight sock.

Okay sock but a bit too thick for me. I also bought the lightweight version which I like better.

Nice mid weight socks, will use yhem for day hikes.

Comfortable with workboots. Not to thick, not too thin. Only problem is two had holes after three wearings. Not from the same pair and not on the same day.

Husband wears them all the time, though he says the cut is shorter than in the past.
