This hat is fits well, and is not bulky. it is warm, sleek, comfortable and attractive. The only drawer back is the closure is hard to handle. I would buy as gifts and recommend to my friends.

The winter has really cold here and this hat really keeps my ears and head warm. I get sinus headaches and earaches & this hat has put a stop to this.

I'd recommend this hat more if L.L.Bean would replace the clasp. While I love the warmth and softness of the hat, the clasp is a problem. Should be changed. I've filed down the edges of the clasp so I can unclasp it, but have had to do that several times. Also both hat and clasp run a bit small.

I received my bomber hat in time for a trip across five states, and in came in handy since I needed something warm. It's light, warm, and comfortable! My only complaint is the clasp. Because it's so small, and the way it's made, I just cannot clasp it while the hat is on my head - kind of useless, in a way, unless I have a mirror in front of me to see what I am doing. Change the clasp to a heavy-duty snap is my opinion.

I got the largest size offered and although I can wear it, it's quite snug. I have a large head :( and often have trouble finding hats to fit. But otherwise -- so far, so good.

I bought two of these hats for tween girls (one brown, one white) for a ski/sledding outing. We went sledding in single digit weather and these hats kept the girls' heads warm for several hours. They also were cute enough for two picky tween girls. I would buy again and recommend to others.

Overall, I would recommend this hat. It is extremely warm and looks cute. I ordered it to replace a similar hat (from another company) that I had for almost 10 years. It is just as warm, but a more snug fit. I ordered the S/M and there isn't much "breathing" room. It leaves an indented line on my forehead when I wear it for more than about 45 minutes, but I mostly don't care because it is so warm and doesn't look too tight. It would be preferable if they offered S/M/L/XL sizing instead of just two sizes, but to me the quality of the hat was worth it.

I purchased the white bomber hat in the smaller size, S/M. While it is not the most attractive hat on the block, it certainly is the warmest. I live in a cold. windy city and a warm hat is necessary. When I tried it on, however, it was much too small - the back was very short. So it has been returned for the larger size, L/XL. I already have it in black (had forgotten its sizing when I ordered the white), and it fitted very well and hope that will be the case for the white version. I find this bomber style to be great for any type of hoodless winter coat.

Hat is nice and warm, but could come down further in back and flaps should be further back so that they don't cut across lower face. Buckle a bit hard to undo when it's on under the chin.

Hat only comes in 2 sizes - small/medium & large/extra large. The first size was too small and the next size which I bought is actually a bit to big, but it's very warm.

Like many reviewers have stated, this hat fits small. If you have a small head, are in your early teens or just want it to fit very snugly, go with the s/m. I found the seam along the inner front left a mark across my forehead after having it on for ten minutes, so I returned it for the l/xl and it fits the way it should. Don't be put off by the l/xl label! As for style, bomber hats were never intended to be super-fitted. I love this hat!!!

This hat is indeed nice and cozy, exactly what I wanted for those cold days working outside in winter, camping (its the perfect hat for sleeping in my camper when it's cold), night walks outside, and times when I have a chill indoors (e.g. when my hair is wet). It is so soft on the inside -- which makes it easy and comfortable to wear. I got the M/L size and it's a bit loose, so I probably should have ordered the S/M, although I was worried it would be too tight. That's the only drawback, not being able to try on before buying. (And I did measure my head -- it was on the border of both sizes).

This hat is far warmer than the ear bands I have used in the past. It dries quickly and while I look like a geek with the ear flaps down, it really does the trick. I agree with the other review that the size runs small. I am small-boned, weigh 115, and generally have a small frame. I had to send back the small/medium and get the larger size, which fits beautifully. The one thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is the clasp. It's not only hard to undo when your hands are cold, it's just plain hard to unlatch. I may try to remove it and replace with something I can tie (yes, adding to my geekiness...)

Love this hat, but I bought the S/M in white and it was too small. I don't have a large head, so I was surprised. Wasn't keen on the white, so when I returned it for a L/XL, I changed the color to Dark Raspberry. I was disappointed to find it was more of a pink than a red. Now I will have to return it and will choose black instead, but will have to wait now, since they are sold out in all but the Dark Raspberry (go figure, since it's actually a dark pink!) Thank goodness for free returns!

I get a lot of comments on the extreme nerdiness of this hat BUT my ears are finally warm so I don't care!

I purchased this item last year in a size large - it was a little too big but very, very warm. I thought I would try again this year and order the smaller size - which is little too small. There is no in between! Considering the protection and warmth of the hat I'll keep them both. I wish womens' winter hats weren't made in a one size fits all because it doesn't.

This is the cutest hat, that's warm and true to size! Most hats this style are bulky...but not this hat. It has a nice "streamline" look to it.

I bought this hat for those cold, snowy days when we are up in the mountains out playing in the snow, cutting wood, and doing other outside activities. I haven't had the chance to wear it yet, but like the fit/look. The chin strap will ensure that (unlike knit caps) it will stay on while I'm active and keep my ears warm. I purchased the brown hat but next time would opt for one of the more brightly colored ones.

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter. She wanted something that would keep her warm and yet look good. This hat does both.

This is a fun hat and still very functional for warmth when traveling into the cold North.

I will use this when snow blowing the driveway or hiking in the woods. It generously covers the ears (which I was concerned with) and the fur lining is soft. It is not very thick, but will be warm. I thought I had a large head (7 1/4 hat), but I could have gotten away with the smaller size. The chin strap isn't very wide. This will fit the bill for keeping my ears and head warm.

It's very warm and looks quite stylish, but I also have major problems dealing with the clasp. I suggest the designers rethink the closure as it is very difficult to open.

I'm not crazy about how this looks on me, but when it is -20 outside, who cares about how it looks, all I want is to be warm and I'm sure this hat will be nice and cozy warm.

This bomber hat is definitely very warm during our recent below zero weather. It's just that the clip under the chin is a bit too short and there's not enough extension for me. Perhaps because my neck is a bit bigger than others'.

Hat is toasty warm BUT it is a really hard buckle to unbuckle. I could die from exhaustion and heat overload before getting it off my head.
