The bag is super large, was purchased to use to tote items back and forth on our boat. It's so huge that it' awkward and unmanageable to carry on narrow docks. I'm very disappointed with this product. Also, I had the bag monogrammed , choosing largest font possible and the lettering looks ridiculously small on the bag.

I've used this bag for years and ordered several of them. I really miss the custom version and the side pocket.

This is the first time I have ever felt that LLBean let me down. The bag finally arrived after a longer than normal wait (even with time for monogramming) and when it arrived the one word monogram I requested was extremely small for the size/scale of the bag. I order the extra large bag and the monogram on it was suited for a small bag. I never imagined that LLB would not scale the monogram to the size of product. Beware if you monogram anything large. The monogram size was ridiculously small for this item.

I purchased the blue tote and had it monogrammed with the same color stitching as the bag. I received the item and it is not as pictured. The tote is more a dark navy and not the cobalt as pictured. Now I have a dark navy tote with cobalt stitching. I was expecting them both to match, which they dont!!! I'm very disappointed to say the least. The large size tote is very big, much bigger than expected! Great bag though, for its durability and use.

I love this tote, I use it everyday lugging things like a pack mule around Brooklyn, NY. But it's odd to me how the cloth on the top if you want to zip it, is not of the same quality and toughness as the rest of the bag. It is so flimsy that I have to struggle mightily in getting the zipper to close. If it were a more sturdy fabric, there wouldn't be that problem. Lastly, please make a closeable waterproof version!! We need that so badly living in a rainy place.

The tote bag is nice,roomy & strong as advertised however the salvage of the fabric was sewn to the OUTSIDE of the bag & puckered a bit. If they wanted to maximize their fabric this could have been assembled to the INSIDE just as easily and it would look more professionally done. A key ring &/or pocket on the inside would also be helpful as most of us drive cars & no longer haul blocks of ice in our tote bags - which was the original intent. The offer of a return seemed fruitless due to the fact that in pictures some of these bags had the salvage showing,and some were sewn correctly....therefore I figured it would be a 50/50 chance of receiving a replacement bag that was correctly assembled. So Happy to buy American made - but perhaps the assembly dept needs a refresher class on sewing techniques.

The bag is well made and the monogram perfect, but OMG what a huge bag! I ordered an extra large tote because the specs said it was 19 inches wide, but it's actually 27 inches from seam to seam! I missed the fact that it didn't come with a pocket. I also purchased a large bag, which is actually 23 inches wide from side to side (not 17 inches). So while the bags are great, you've got to be careful about the measurements. You can't trust the website's information. And because of that, I have two huge bags that really don't work for my needs.

This tote bag is well made and I like that it zips, but I would not have purchased it if I had looked at it in the store. It is not practical because there are no pockets inside to store anything. It should have some place to put cell phone, keys, etc. It's just an empty space inside, making it very difficult to find stored items.

I really loved this bag when I got it. Sadly, it had a slight damage right under the monogram. I've returned it and have placed a new order for another one. Hopefully, that one is damage free. Fingers crossed.

I purchased this bag for an upcoming cruise, unfortunately it has too few pockets, as in none. Somehow I missed that when placing my order. I have a similar bag that has all kinds of pockets on the inside. This isn't going to work for me so I sent it back. However it is well constructed and if you don't care about the lack of internal pockets, its an nice bag. It would also be nice when mentioning the dimensions which bags would work as a carry-on for a plane.

I was so excited to find this bag with long handles! The bag came, and I left on my trip...only to realize there are no pockets, inside or out! This bag would be so much better if they could change that!

I love LLBean and all of their products. I have many bags and boots so when I needed another I went straight to LLBean because I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and it would be a product of the USA. Sadly I received my new boat tote with the zip top and it was missing a section of stitching so I received a band new bag with a hole in it before I had a chance to use it. Pretty sad, I know this does not reflect the company and hopefully it won't keep me from purchasing again.

The bag is very well made as everything else from LLBean. I didn't realize how frustrating was going to be not to have a inside pocket to put smaller things. I have to put a smaller bag inside it because glasses were being damaged by heavier things and small things were at the bottom. It is harder to keep organized without it but I knew based on other reviews that this was a characteristic of this bag. I just didn't think it would limit the use of it unless I modify it.

A pocket or two...maybe one on the inside and one on the outside! Then is would be perfect!

This bag is smaller than it used to be a couple years ago. The color and durability are great, but I would only order large or extra large.

I ordered the large size one, but it was too large when I got it, so I paid $6.5 to exchange it to a medium size one. The size difference is big. On the large tote, the price printed on the price tag was the ex-large one. The bag looks durable, but the stiches on the top edge were sticking out, they were not being trimmed off well.

I really like this classic LL Bean tote. The zipper enclosure makes it very convenient in bad weather. I was surprised and disappointed by the loose stitching along the top edges however. This is visible on both ends of the top of the bag. It arrived this way and since I had the tote monogrammed, I did not attempt to return it.

Lands End makes a much better product from the canvas to the quality of the stitching

This a sturdy canvas bag. Great for shopping or going to the beach. I like that I can choose from several colors. I give it three stars because I think it's roughly finished and the metal zipper is tough to use.

It was a gift and she was thrilled. I think it was perfect and exactly what I ordered. Thank the person that I ordered from. My daughter is a teacher and I ordered one for her years ago and she still is using it. good product.

The canvas material feels nice and thick, but heavy duty brass zipper advertised is not what I got in the mail. The smaller zipper seems like and inevitable failure point.

I ordered a bag in the color I wanted, it was backorder. I went and found another bag (had the bride give me her 3 favorite colors) and found the 2nd choice color in the Freeport Store. They kindly mailed the bag to me. I held onto the bag for 3 weeks in hopes that the backordered bag would show up early. 3 days befor the shower I went to my local LLBean to have the brides new married initials embroidered in it. The brides new initials are ERH. They offered to have me order a new bag (backordered) for the old price since there was recently a price increase. No other form of compensation for their mistake. I understand they're overwhelmed but they need a better system when mistakes are made.

They side seams are sewn in a very sloppy fashion. Rough edges

I really wanted to give this bag five starsit's classic and well-designedbut unfortunately, mine arrived with some imperfections. One of the seams has uneven, frayed stitching, which gives it the look of a knockoff rather than the high-quality Boat and Tote I was expecting. I've always admired the brand's reputation, so I was disappointed by how my bag turned out. That said, I didn't pursue an exchange because the wait time for a replacement is incredibly long.

I love the bag, and the quality. I disliked the embroidery, I already returned and reordered. I received the exact same mess up. I decided just to keep because I needed for an event and it was too late to return for a second time.
