The monogram looked too small for a large bag. I was told a 7 letter monogram has to be small to fit on the bag. It looks very disproportional on such a large bag. Very disappointing for an expensive bag

This is my second tote from LLB and the stitching quality was much better on my first one, and that was only purchased 6 months ago. This one has so many fraying and unraveling edges. This was a gift and honestly I was so ashamed to give it in the condition it arrived in. I had to do so much work myself to make it giftable.

Cute bag. The outside stitching is subpar but will work. The embroidery is perfect.

While you can never go wrong with the stellar boat & tote, the zipper is a big fail. Can not close it without a struggle. Skip the zipped version.

I've been wanting this item for the longest time so I was really disappointed when I got it because the quality was far from what I expected. Yes, it looks good and serves its purpose up to standard but the quality of how it's made is very poor and even sub-standard. Threads in and outside are coming off. Seams are sewn sloppily. With the brand's status, I was expecting a bit more.

The stitching on the side seem sloppy. I thought hat bag would look cleaner. I like the size.

Much larger than expected. Reordered in a size medium which is smaller than we wanted. Wish there was another size in between medium and large.

I just received my small boat tote with the long straps and I love the color but the stitching is really poorly done. I love L.L Bean products so I was a bit disappointed with this tote. I can't return it because it's monogrammed but wish the quality was better.

I have several older versions of the same model of tote that I love and use frequently. Adore the newer color of this bag, but the canvas is much thinner and therefore less rugged than previously. Will keep this and use it, but sad about change in quality.

The seems are already fraying which is highly disappointing. Has been used a month. Just doesn't seem like they are what they are hyped up to be.

The bags are great but the dimensions over the years have gotten much smaller. I had to order a medium just to get the old small size

the bag is roomy but the handle is stiff, hard to hold its place on the shoulder

Good but a bit too big and goofy looking, the medium is too small but the large is just slightly too big I wish there was more of an inbetween instead of the xtra small size

Absolutely gorgeous bag. However, I wish I had gotten it with slightly larger handles, as the entire thing is stiffer than I expected and I suspect the medium or large handles would have helped. Stiching is a bit sloppy in certain areas, which is disappointing. Can't and won't complain about the color, though, because it's magnificent. Overall, would buy again and hope that I get something that seems a bit less rushed :)

This was much smaller than I thought it would be. Contents of a small purse would fit.

The model must be child sized. Medium is smaller than purse/totes - it is not a tote bag size.

I'm not as satisfied with this tote as I'd like to be. The stitching is has lots of areas where the threads stick out. I also thought the medium tote had pockets on the inside. I love my LL Bean sweaters and pants. The bag looks like is was rushed - not the standard quality I would expect.

I really love using this bag but there a few things on the quality that cause concern. Maybe I just got a bad bag because this brand is known for their good quality but I received my bag with a rip on the handle and the stitches holding the zipper in place are coming undone. I've been using this bag very gently too. I will say the customer service is awesome. I expressed my concerns about the bag and they are supposed to be sending me a new one end of February because they are so backed up on orders. I am under the impression that this will be free of charge to me but we will see I guess when it gets shipped out.

A vey nice bag with a zippered top. One thing I would add is a pocket of two on the inside or outside.

I ordered three personalized canvas bags with embroidered names. I received confirmation for all three and an invoice for all three. Only two showed up. I had not received any notification that the 3rd had been out of stock and would not be shipped. If I had gotten a notification, I would have simply ordered a different bag. After receiving the two bags, I contacted L.L. Bean to get a third bag personalized. It was too late to get a bag personalized for Christmas. So, I now only had two bags with embroidered names while the third came with no name embroidered. It was also too late to get embroidery done locally. I wish L.L.Bean had notified me that the original bag was out of stock. It would have saved a huge headache.

The zipper is a challenge. It goes back down where it is hard to grasp and use.

Love this classic bag, but we need the exterior pocket back!

I was so excited to receive this bag. It's extremely sturdy and the color is beautiful. Unfortunately it was sewn unevenly on the sides, so that the color border on the bottom is fine on one side but way too narrow on the other. Returning but reluctant to reorder as shipping takes a couple weeks and it will be too late to receive it in time for upcoming trip.

The bag looks great, but tremendous larger than I had imagined (I got the large) even knowing the dimensions, and the canvas is very stiff, and the bag is quite heavy on its own too heavy when I have it filled to go to the beach.

I was trying to replace my older zippered tote bag with a new one. I ordered a Large, erroneously thinking from the measurements in the description, that it was what I had. However, the bag was HUGE. I had to take it back and reorder a medium. Otherwise, it is a very nice bag. I have been waiting weeks for the replacement. I hope when it finally arrives, it will be OK.
