Larger than I thought it would be. Zipper is hard to close unless the bag is full or almost full.

This bag is a little stiff and wasn't expecting this but other than that this is great sized and perfect for the beach or other type of excursions. One thing about this bag is that I love that it does zip and it's not just open like most tote bags.

Love! I only wish it came with a little padding at the bottom to protect the items inside.

I love this. LL Bean continues to produce reliable quality in an economy where most are using cheap materials. The only thing I wish were different in this cell phone and keyless fob age is an outside pocket, and an inner pocket. The lack is noticeable.

Very difficult to get zipper started. Your back-order issues are atrocious.

Dry well made and love the long handles. A bit smaller than I anticipated but that's my fault for not looking up the dimensions. Great over the shoulder bag. Use it as a purse with the zip closure

Wish the pocket version came in XL. It's great - holds a ton, perfect length shoulder straps. Used frequently for the park and other outdoor things with two small kids. Would love a pocket for my phone/keys or other misc small things. But this will be used all the time.

Well made. But monogrammed initials were in wrong order. However the recipient of bag liked the layout of initials.

This tote is very well made. It's tough and probably will last for years. I'm currently using it as a "pocket book" which will change soon. The material is so strong/rough that it's truly more for "toting" than for a personal bag. The price is right.

I love the classic LL Bean totes. I bought this one in Extra Large which was HUGE. It would be a good travel suitcase but a bit too big for more practical every day uses. I exchanged it for the Large size which is perfect!

It's really big! Very good-looking! It ended up being too big for my particular use, so I'm keeping it to use as an overnighter.

It's very well made. A classic. The monogram so personalizes it.

I got this bag in hopes to find a great tote bag to carry my stuff in as a teacher. I first ordered the large with long handles, but when it arrived it was a lot larger than necessary. If you are looking for something for luggage I would recommend the large. I sent it back and got a medium with long handles. It holds all my stuff including my 15 inch laptop with some room to spare. My only wish is that there was a small pocket on the inside for a catchall for valuables such as my keys, wallet, and phone so they are not getting lost in the bottom of the bag. Another issue I have noticed is some strings are coming off on the inside of the bag. Nothing is wrong structurally, but sometimes I find loose threads here and there that get snagged on the zipper (highly recommend the zipper, by the way). I just tie them off and cut them. Other than that I have no complaints. I got mine in green with emerald for the monogram.

This is my first LLB Boat and Tote and so far I am very satisfied with it. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it lacks the extra outside pocket for a cellphone or other quick grab that the canvas Boca totes offer. I ordered this tote in the medium size (black) with the zipper top and long handles, which is not stocked in thier retail stores, at a local LLB store for the free shipping and it had arrived within a few days. The quality is there, it holds its shape and sits upright as the canvas is very thick and durable. It fits everyting I need for the day just right and the zipper top keeps my things from falling out if it tumbles over in the car. If you like to sling it over your shoulder I highly reccomend the long handles and if you tend to stuff it get the zipper top.

It's perfect! I wish it was a little easier to keep on my shoulder, but the embroidery is just what I wanted, and the zip top is great. It does fit a 16" MacBook Pro, which I was worried it wouldn't, because it says the medium size is smaller than that.

It was a gift for a wedding shower. She loved it! Quick delivery and the color choices for handles and monogram were many. It's the gift that even if you have one, you can't have too many! So useful.

It is hard to imagine a more well-built bag. This will last a lifetime. The zipper lining folds up out of the bag, making for a HUGE secured storage volume.Colors are nice and stitched monogram looks great and costs very little to add. I subtract one star because the bag lacks a side pocket (inside desirable, or outside) which I thought was standard in this type of bag.

The tote is fabulous. Well made, sturdy, nice looking. Heads up if you plan to have a name or monogram on it...very small size fonts used vis a vis the tote size. Disappointing

I bought the big bag and it is BIG! It was awesome, it held everything we needed for a day at the water park. Only thing I wish it had was an inside pocket for keys phone etc.

Size is good. Main problem is you can't really sling this over your shoulder if you want, so if you think you may need to do that (like in a situation where you're carrying a toddler and other bags for example) then you should probably go with the long handles.
