Best jacket/coat evah! Just the right coat for 40 F+ by itself. Great in the rain. Perfect hood design to cover your head efficiently without it flopping over forehead and eyes...and doesn't let the wind in like looser hoods. Pockets are roomy and the inside chest pocket is on the money for your phone if in tight places.

My only criticism of this jacket is that the fleece lining in the sleeves grabs at sweaters and sweatshirts. You have to hold the edge of your shirt/sweater or it will bunch up around your elbow.

Really good. Stick a merino layer under it and its good to go! Great around town or in the woods.

I bought this jacket for my Son for a trip to NYC over the Thanksgiving break. It performed great, was warm but not bulking, and was very comfortable. The size was accurate and true to form.

Excellent fit, durable and warm. My husband walks our dog every morning (rain or snow) and he always wears this LLBean jacket. We live in Northern WY.

As good as the bendy extinct dinosaur versions. Excellent from 20s and up in snow and rain.

I've been looking for a Carhartt-style work jacket for years that will fit someone who's tall and thin (Carhartt doesn't seem to make them anymore and most of their jackets are as wide as they are tall). So when I saw this jacket in the catalog in what looked to be Carhartt's signature color, I decided to check it out. The "hazelnut" color turned out to be more of a saddle brown, but it's a really nice color, and the jacket as a whole is impressive. I know it's not meant as a work jacket, and even though that's what I plan to use it for, I find myself wanting to wear it as my everyday jacket. I own a lot of Arc'teryx products and I wasn't expecting a lot from L.L. Bean, but the quality and features are nearly as good as any of the more expensive outdoor brands, and I wouldn't hesitate to take it backcountry skiing or ice climbing.

This jacket is the perfect light outer layer for those wet fall days on the trail. The fit is excellent and the jacket is very comfortable.

I travel a lot and need a warm but not heavy and bulky coat. This coat is perfect and if I like to I can wear a vest under it. I love this coat it got its first trial run in Minnesota!

I love the adaptability of the jacket that I can wear it as a single layer and not over heat or wear it with another layer and be perfectly warm. Great for rain and wind. I look forward to trying it in the snow.

I walk to work about a mile each way in the windy state of Nebraska. Jacket is comfortable and has worked well for the thirty to sixty degree temperature range I was hoping for. Looks nice. Fit was true to size; I am a 5'-6" medium. I haven't experienced rain yet but it has been great for blocking wind and I'm glad I have the hood to pull over on really windy days

I live in a temperate climate, but I get cold. This coat has proven to be perfect for me. It's warm, sheds light rain and fits without binding. The hood fits over my always present cap and adjusts to keep the rain out. I would like to suggest a flap at the rear neckline to cover the seam of the hood where it joins the shoulders and back of the coat. This is a place where the coat chafes the nape of my neck.

Loved the jacket but had to return it because of the fit. I ordered 2XL Tall. The length was perfect for me. I'm 6'4" and have always had a hard time getting coats and shirts the fit. My problem came because the body was too snug a fit. I was looking for a more loose fit for easy layering. If you're a tall, slim fit man this will be perfect for you. As always, this jacket has all the LL Bean quality manufacturing. My only negative comment is I felt the zipper pockets in the front are too big.

I love this jacket. It will be a Christmas gift for my cousin who is a Professor at Ohio State. SAD NEWS . . . had my husband try the jacket on & I'm going to have to return it for a larger size. I ordered an XL Tall but I'm going to return for XXL Tall. This is totally my fault. I know my cousin will love this jacket and it will be appropriate for work or play.

I originally purchased a large-tall and had to return it for an extra large-tall...it runs small. Once I got the proper size, I started wearing it in our Fall/early Winter weather in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. The coat is lightweight, but don't let that deceive you...it is very warm, completely wind and water proof, and very comfortable to wear! I've worn it down into the mid 20's and been comfortable. Quickly becoming my go-to coat!

I have two (XXL & XXXL) and they are my favorite tops for alpine skiing. Theyre super comfortable, flexible, warm, breathe well and quiet! I wear them nearly all ski days and theyre holding up well. Less pockets than traditional alpine shells but there are sufficient unless youre a skiers who loads their pockets with lots of snacks and hand warmers. I highly recommend!

Really like this hoodie; great weight, ample room to layer, keeps the cold out. My one criticism is the size. I typically wear a medium though found this item to be undersized so I bought the large which fits my body but not so much the sleeves. I also feel the item to be way overpriced. This is not a cotton barn coat nor a wool jacket.; for gosh sakes it's a hoodie! Due to retail price I would have skipped it but had a large amount of LL Bean points plus a coupon. One last thing, please ditch the LL Bean logo on the chest. It's in too prominent an area and gives it a near kids like appearanch. I also dislike promoting brands on clothing.

Nice but not for me. I didn't love fit. But as usual bean customer service was great. Easy return will go with another item.
