I ordered this shirt because I dhad a chamois shirt decades ago which lasted twenty years before it was too threadbare to wear any further. I hoped this shirt would be similar. It seemed to be well-made, but I didn't like the large buttons. I bought my short some time in the 70s, and I suppose the shirt I returned was faithful to the design in the 30s, but I hadn't noticed the large buttons on the website. Perhaps I ordered it from my cell phone. As always with LL Bean, the return went smoothly. I'm happy with the two chamois shirts I have, but have never ordered at a time when the tan color I had in the 70s was available in my size.

Very warm and comfortable. I like the outdoor pattern on the material. Well made as all LLBean clothing is.

Disappointed in how light weight the chamois fabric is. Thinner than shirts he has that are 15 years old.

I have several of these vintage 1933 Cami shirts from L.L. Bean. They are all remarkably soft and comfortable except for this one. Even after washing, it remains rather stiff and not particularly comfortable to wear. I'm hoping that it will soften overtime. I would not recommend this particular color as this seems to be the situation Only with This particular color. Perhaps this is why it was on sale. This is the first time I was ever really disappointed with the Cami shirt from L.L. Bean.

This shirt is supposedly "slim fit" but I was swimming in it. Nice pattern though.

This is an amazing flannel shirt. It is thick, soft and warm. The extra Tall M fit my husband perfectly the first month. So why the rating? Because with every wash the shirt shrank just a little bit. It was washed in cold water, on a gentle cycle and hung up on a hanger to dry in the house. So buy the next size up.

Unfortunately, even "slim fit" in medium tall is still quite baggy on me. Also, the arm holes are low, which gives it a boxy fit and restricts movement. It's definitely cut fuller than a slim fit in other brands.

Sleeves were way too long (I am 6 ft 4 inches tall). Only one button on each cuff. Fabric didn't feel good on my skin.

Nice fabric and pattern but way too large and bulky. Had to return.

Like all Bean shirts, this is nice. However I bought this because it advertises as a slimmer fit. While this fits my shoulders fine, I could stick a soccer ball under the shirt at my waist. The shirt looks like it was designed for a pregnant woman. The only slim parts of the shirt are the arms, which are too tight to roll up. Quite a disappointment.

I thought since this was chamois the fabric would be thicker, but it seemed to thin to be called chamois. It also pilled up a little bit when washed. But my husband likes the colors and is okay with it. Hopefully the fabric will improve after a few more washes.

After coming out of the wash first time awful flimsy and not much there as compared to a typical Bean chamois shirt.more like a very thin flannel that may need some ironing to look better ( took it out of dryer right before it was done so that it didn't lay in dryer long time to get wrinkled

Does not have two buttons at the cuff as most of these shirts do. A real drawback. I will either move the buttons on my own or take it to my tailor making this a very expensive shirt.

I enjoy the bering blue shirt however the color in the catalogue shows a light blue horizontal stripe and a yellow vertical stripe. What I got was a shirt with a dark blue horizontal stripe and a somewhat faded vertical yellow stripe. Buyer beware!! Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

I LIKE THE SHIRT GIVEN THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT PICTURED AS SHOWN IN THE LLB CATALOGUE. THE PICTURE SHOWS A LIGHT BLUE STRIPE WITH A YELLOW CROSS STRIPE. A CHECK PATTERN. WHAT I RECEIVED WAS A DARK BLUE STRIPE WITH HARDLY ANY YELLOW IN IT. I WILL KEEP THE SHIRT, BUT BUYER BEWARE!! OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS

The material quality is not the same has in the past. Not as smooth and does not have that finer quality cloth material fabric feel or look as is prior purchases over the years.

I love this shirt, the problem is even though I washed it on cold and hung dry it, it still shrunk. For the price I don't see the value when once again a flannel fits great the first two wears then doesnt fit properly.

I remember my Dad always had thick chamois shirts growing up...sometimes I'd wind up wrapped up in one and it was so warm and cozy. This felt like a sad adaptation. I thought with the premium price and "signature" it would be a premium grade; instead the fabric was too thin and pre-pilled. It felt cheap and not heritage. Disappointed...not gift quality.

The black shirt is perfect, high quality material and comfortable. The blue shirt is made of a completely different material. Feels cheap and stiff. It's like wearing cardboard. I own several of these shirts and never experienced this issue.

It's a quality shirt but the fit is too tight. I wish it did

I wish this was as thick as a normal chamois shirt. The fabric treatment compromises the quality and makes it feel too thin and delicate from what I'm used to in ll beam chamois shirts.

This shirt was to be a replacement for the exact same shirt I have worn for years. The new shirt was manufactured in Sri Lanka, the old shirt was made in El Salvador. The arms on the new shirt are much longer than my old shirt (the arms come down past my wrist to my thumb). My wife also had to stich one of the pocket flaps. Certainly not up to the standards of LL Bean.

It's a very nice shirt. But this is supposed to be a slim fit and it's hardly that. All my shirts are size "large" but this one is very big. It's baggy and the sleeves are very long. Not happy with the fit at all. I should have gotten a medium. This is why I hate ordering stuff like this mail order. Sizing is all over the place.

While this may be slimmer fitting than other LLBean shirts, it is not slim. If you are looking for a shirt with a little room in the waist then it's fine however I had to return it because it's just too boxy for what I wanted. I wished it had fit it seems like a great shirt that I would wear all the time.

Any recommendations on how to speed up the 'softening up' process for this shirt? I've been wearing mine for 2 months, multiple washes, and it's still quite leathery and cold in feel. Anybody else have a similar experience? My old chamois shirt is lovely and soft though.
