The cushioning on these is fantastic, topo fit as per usual. Great shoe.

These were my second pair of Topos. I really like the wider toe box shape so I keep buying them.
However, I HATE the Ortholite insoles! They are worthless. Zero support and they make the shoe feel really firm without any bounce. I am forced to swap them for some nice inexpensive TPU insoles from S@u$@ny. These make a world of difference and work well with the basic EVA based Zipfoam that is soft but lacks any nice rebound.
I'd like to see less white soles and more black colors not solid.

I hiked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago in these. I'd never worn Topo before and was pleased with the comfort/support. Great on technical terrain, plenty grippy. 2 complaints: the Vibram outsole didn't hold up well, so by mile 300 it was essentially gone from part of the heel, causing the upper to fail. Also, loved the roomy toe box but it was hard (even with heel lock lacing and sizing up) to lock down the fit tight enough to prevent my toes from getting blisters and toenails blackened.

The color is nice but the pair I received had clearly been used. They were dirty and there was cat hair all over the fabric. I didn’t even put them on. Gross.

Used for daily dog walks over the course of 30 days. I found them to be too unstable and not enough support. I had a constant ache in my right ankle and almost rolled it on two occasions.

The shoe is comfortable and pretty smooth on the run. The fit on this one is a little too voluminous and the grip is marginal in the dry and poor in wet conditions. I had some build quality issues with my pair. It started with the toe cap now the upper is separating from the midsole by toe. I've reglued it a couple times. These are the first topos I've any gripes about I usually get lots of life out of my shoes, these have been the exception

I really like the shoe, but there seems to be a quality issue with the back wearing out prematurely.

Returning these UV3's after waiting months for my size to restock. Love my phantom2's that feel like there are a part of my foot, but the UV3's are just sloppy and the upper material is 'flimsy' and cheap feeling compared to the phantom2's .. I really wanted a solid 5mm, full cushioned trail shoe, but may need to go try the phantom3's .. but,, I need to jump on the band wagon... YOUR MENS COLORS SUCK TOPO... at least offer black in all models ... Love Topo,,, hope to buy more... but disapointed for now....

I selected this model to help with the enduring long daily hikes of 15-25 daily miles. I had found them to be comfortable out of the box and very responsive. Issues I had incurred were stability as my foot would constantly roll or slide. I feel the shoe was too flexible causing these issues. Followed with rolling I also found the sole is not designed to give sufficient grip on loose dirt with rocks, on rocks and quickly came unglued at the front of the shoe. I have only walked 273 miles in them.

There are a few things that I really like about this shoe. First, it has a really nice roomy toebox which allows for a more natural splay and movement of the foot. Especially during a longer race, when your feet swell up, they provide enough space and support. Second, the upper mesh is strong and durable. All Topo shoes I have run in so far hold up really well, despite using them intensively for a long time. I was really excited to buy and use this new model in the Topo line. It looks and feels good when I first put them on. After having run two longer 55km trail races and some training runs in them (total of 150km/90mi) it seems that the sole is starting to detach from the shoe, both on the toe as well as the bottom (see pictures). For a high end shoe with this price tag, I simply do not expect this to happen. I find this unacceptable actually. I have no idea what has caused this to happen, but I hope Topo will look into this issue.

They fit better than any shoes I've had in a long time. Initial comfort was spectacular. However the first pair that I purchased broke down and wore out in less than 200 miles of mixed surface walking. I got another new pair to see if just trail and no pavement will give them more longevity. If not I will have to move to another brand to fit my wide feet.

My last shoe was a Terraventure 3 and I loved it, but wanted to try more cushioning. To be fair the Ultraventure 3 is built for mild to moderate terrain. It worked well for me running mostly flat, dirt single track, fireroads, and was great on pavement. Anything rocky or with steep descents the shoe was unstable and sloppy as the upper stretches a lot. Experienced many ankle rolls on off camber foot plants. Very little tread on the outer. Lost traction around corners and steeper terrain.

I love the Ultraventures thus far. Have put ~124 miles on them including my first 50 mile ultra. They treated me well during the race and had no foot issues at all. However my long middle toe did hit the end and bruise.
On another note, I just noticed that the right sole is starting to detach from the shoe at the toe. This is worrisome as it has only ~124 miles on them. As you can see the sole wear is minimal but the glue seems to have deteriorated in the small amount of time. Super upsetting!

Cannot seem to get these dialed in. The upper is different than the ultraventure 2 and cannot get a good lockdown. Cushion I do like, but not sure I'll run with these again due to heel slip

Like the new midsole, but the upper is not secure. Had slip issues and didn't feel confident enough for trail use. I know it's intended for light trail, and for that the outsole would have been fine. Just needed a better hold from the upper. For reference I'm almost done with my second set of mountain racer 2's. Probably one of my favorite shoes.

The stack height is 35mm which I'm not used to. I rolled my ankle 3 times on my first run which was 6 miles. It was rocky desert trail in Tucson which I am used to. I transferred to the Topo Ultraventure 3 having run 3 versions of the Brooks Cascadia 15, 16 great and 17 without thinking of the stack height. I'll be taking them back to the running store and exchange for something else.

I loved the previous versions of this shoe. Unfortunately I cannot wear the new version due to change in fit. The forefoot is now too loose. The midfoot is now too narrow and pinch my feet. I can no longer wear them to causing pain in midfoot despite trying several different insoles. I will try to make due with my old shoes and hope the fit changes again in the future.

These look and feel like I will destroy them in 150 miles on soft non technical terrain. I don't use a gaiter but the insistence on having a proprietary design to the brand is silly. Insole is substandard quality/design compared to brands like Inov8s, Brooks and Hoka. They absorb and hold sweat like sponges and decompose quickly. Claiming this is a road to trail shoe is misleading in my opinion. Heel and misfoot lockdown is the highlight in an uninspiring package that leaves me feeling very meh.Thirty or so miles on these shoes. I replaced the laces for visual appeal.

Wide at toe-box, as expected. But very narrow mid-foot. Not comfortable for my foot.

As with all Topos, I love the toebox. I had to swap them out 18 miles into my 100mi ultra for another pair though, to get better stability on off-camber terrain, and because my heel kept popping out despite tying them as tight as possible. My toes were certainly worse off for the change, but at least I was able to finish the race. I would wear these if they had a much more technical fit, and if they provided better protection from rocks. Adding lugs to a road shoe doesn't make a trail shoe.

As my first pair of super cushioned shoes these felt great out of the box, but 20 or so miles later they felt sloppy and like running in puddles. By about 75 miles in the medial midsole had completely collapsed and they were just awful. I currently have 105 miles on them and the outsole is really showing signs of deterioration. There is also some odd wrinkles in the left toe from the glue shrinking at different rates.

I own the trail venture and the ultraventure 2. Really like the fit of the ultraventure 2, but was looking for more cushioning, and the ultraventure 3 looks to be perfect. Bought a pair, but the arch support is (in my opinion) excessively high, and I was afraid to run in them as I'm quite sure I would have injured my foot. I've ran in ASICS, Nike, Brooks And I've never experienced a shoe with this much arch support.

Very comfortable, but sole wore down dramatically and heal section started fraying about 6 weeks in. Maybe 150-170 miles and they looked like a 400 mile pair of Altras.
