These will fade in chlorine treated water. I never used mine in a chlorine treated pool. And, I hand wash them in sink with biodegradable detergent. Nice deep pockets; could use a firm stretch draw cord instead of bunching up the waist so much. Take care of them and they will be your friend.

The shorts are OK, but just OK. I really expected a little higher quality, considering the price, and the fact that I was purchasing from an established American seller. Sadly, the item was not made in the USA.

Item received quickly as advertised and works well in my.application.

The large size was a bit too large. I wouldn't recommend them in moderate ocean surf. You might lose them. Other than that they are fine.

Fit as expected. So far, worn once in the pool and laundered. Seem fine. Quality as expected, but happy to not have paid full price.

I really like the Classic Supplex shorts. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the inconvenance of having to exchange the first pair purchased (size medium) for a size small. Based on LLBean sizing recommendations the medium should have worked but they were huge. Over the years it seems LLBean sizing has increased i.e todays mediums were yesterdays larges.

They're just a bit too loose on the waist and I wear a medium in most brands. Requires quite a bit of tightening with the strings which looks a little ridiculous.

Summer swim shorts. Bought mens large. They run large.

Received shorts today. The first pair was WAY to large, but these Larges are true to size. I like the feel of the fabric, and the general weight. Front pockets are deep, so I don't think things like a cell phone will fall out. My only complaint is that at that price point I assumed one picket would be zipped, but it only has a small Velcro square to close the back pocket (yes, for the price think that should be included). If you return items due to an issue the buyer pays for return shipping. I would buy again on clearance price. Hope future designs have at least one zippered pocket. I will buy LLB brand in the future as quality is good.

The sizing was all off! Large was huge. Medium fit my husband with plenty of room and he is always a large. The lining he says much more comfortable than the older pairs of these shorts. And he has many.

Wonderful swim short. Comfortable. Please go back to the embroidered logo not the sewn on patch. Was much more attractive and upscale.

I'm still looking for some "real shorts", these were too baggy. I'll keep these, maybe I'll grow into them. Plus, I just didn't want the hassle of trying to return them. I sure would like to find some plain cotton "shorts" with a draw string and pockets . . . . . .

The shorts were fine. Just too big for me. The problem is that sometimes they run true to size and sometimes not. This is why I don't like ordering by mail. The good thing is that I can return it to the store.

My husband was disappointed with the waistband which has a tie in it. He prefers the older model supplex short with an elastic waistband. So much easier to negotiate at the bathroom!

Acceptable but not exceptional fit and finish for these shorts. Unfortunately they are a step down from an original pair which were worn out and replaced by thes. Thinner gauge fabric and less secure fit are the main concerns.

Already mentioned the drawstring is flimsy but, so far, it's holding up ok. Color was yellow, but has faded dramatically- still wearable, tho. Pleased with the liner - it doesn't trip me up when I'm putting the suit on (a huge issue with the suit (not LLBean) I had before.

The waistband is of poor quality and provides almost no elasticity. Have to use the draw string.

I wanted to love these shorts. Colors are great, fabric is great, 6" length is great. Large size fit me as expected in the waist. However the shorts just have too much material in the seat and thigh. This is probably fine for casual swim wear but I was looking for an all around sport short. If LL Bean makes a sport short version sans liner and with a slimmer fitting seat and leg opening I will be a buyer.

Great fit and style. Disliked they had an inner liner. Removed the inner liner.

Shorts were too large. I returned them without wearing.

These shorts are made very well. Only issue is sizing. They run very large. Order a size down from your typical size. I could not shrink mine in the wash/dryer- will likely have to wear as lounge shorts because they'll probably come off in water.

I've never had other shorts from LL Bean made of the Supplex material that had pilling like these did. They we're really comfortable, and the length was great, but after several months of use the fabric in the crotch area where it rubbed against itself had hundreds of little pilled bumps. These look so bad that I had to return the shorts after less than a year. Other shorts called "Supplex" have not had this problem. Also, please bring back more 6" lengths!

First the color is beautiful. Love the look of it. However the mesh lining really gets into your crevices. I found myself constantly adjusting myself after dipping in the water.

I purchased these a few times before and am happy with the fabric, but am disappointed that the size isn't consistent. This version is smaller than the previous version. I would also rather not have the stitched on LL Bean logo at the bottom.

They're nice shorts.. but are they shorts or a bathing suit?? I little misleading but good product otherwise
