I found the shoe stable and feels low to ground, which is what I like. The traction was surprising good for the small lugs on the shoe. It seems durable and well made, get some minor pinching from the quick-lace system, but it is nice to have

Good enough that I just bought my 3rd pair. I love the "set it and forget it" lace system when can get as tight as you want and they are just so comfy and good looking. I rotate them through the gym and everyday life. 5 stars.

This is my 6th pair of Sense Rides. No other shoe lasts longer, performs more consistently, or covers as many bases. They work for everything from a casual hike to an ultra marathon. Unpopular colors are usually on sale too!

A dad of two little girls, I bought these to use as light weight hikers that are cushioned enough for paved trails, and a lot of standing still in back yard and park outings. Had to size up from my old XA Pros. For my purposes, I would like more cushion in the forefoot and room in the toe box. But my feet are slightly wide and I'm not using them for running as intended. Happy with them overall so far.

I have Haglund's Deformity on both heels and no matter how comfortable a cleat is, a hard heel counter ruins my game play (ultimate disc). These shoes are the first ones in a while that do not aggravate my heels during an intense game and I feel comfortable in them as well. Just bought my 3rd pair so I have don't have to worry about model changes for a while.

Recreational runner, 20-30 miles / week. Mostly ran on the previous Sense Ride generations (3 and 4) and liked them for their last, fit, and firmness of the sole. I had hoped this iteration would keep its characteristics and maybe just be a bit improved. Unfortunately, this is not the case. It seems the sole has been changed completely compared to the older versions, in particular the forefoot firmness is tuned to be much softer than before. The shoe feels more like a road runner with the weight penalty of a trail shoe. Furthermore, the durability of the sole seems to have decreased. After about 100 miles the foam feels thinner, and I notice pebbles under my forefoot more. This is in stark contrast to the previous generations, where I would first see the uppers rip and fall apart before the sole started to deteriorate. I doubt, I'll get the same mileage out of this shoe compared to its older brethren.

I have owned several pairs of these, across all the generations of this shoes production. And it has become my go-to trainer. I use it for middle distance (up to about the half marathon in length) runs on varying trail terrain, many with an asphalt start or finish. Great surface feel, with the right amount of cushion and energy return, plus the Salomon quick-lace system is second to none. It NEVER comes loose, and is simply the best technical innovation I think any shoe company has come up with to advance trail running footwear.

The orthotic type sole feels hard underfoot and weird to run with. After being a previous customer and enjoying sense mantra I thought these would be similar. But they dont provide cushioning when you run and are uncomfortable. I asked to return them but they wouldnt let me because I had already used them. Online returns with Salomon are impossible. The shoe was also too small for the advertised size, but they wont accept size-based returns for online purchases.

I have been wearing Salomon’s Sensa rides for years. I admit I don’t love the sensa ride 5 redesigns as much as I have loved the previous versions of it. But it’s still good enough and I’m making it work. I feel like the arch support may be sliiiiiiiiiightly less than prior versions, maybe that can be looked into. Either way, I appreciate the tread and the quick laces and many other things about it.

Soles slip backwards constantly. Not a fan of the extra fabric compared to the SR4 - gives a clunky feel.

Needed a shoe for road, gravel, and trail as I spend about equal time on each. Traction and cushioning works well on all surfaces. Support is great, speed laces are fine once I got used to them. I Use a different shoe for hiking, steep hills, and more rugged trails or rockier terrain but these would work in a pinch. Great hybrid shoe w/ versatility.

Really love these. Probably too light colored for real trail running. But great travel and a little extra traction. I love the pull laces. My only complaint is when I pull the laces tight, I cant tuck the end into the little pocket on the tongue it was designed for. It is really too tight.

The shoes structure breaks down around 200 miles. The lace system could use some work. It's difficult to secure until the sleeve.

These are my favorite off-pavement light-weight shoes. They serve me well as I shave a narrow long foot. The bright orange is my wifes choice as she thinks it will help the recovery team find my body easier.
