Working into the walking shoes. A little deep in the stiff heel, pushing against ankles.

I bought three pairs of these in a regular size some time ago and have been satisfied with the shoes. I bought a fourth pair in a wide but it felt the same. I got out my tape measure and measured both. There are four roughly horizontal lines across the sole along the length of the shoe so I measured along all those lines. All four measurements were the same to within 1/8 inch. Finally, I removed the insert from each pair and checked the part numbers on the bottom. They are the same inserts and they fit precisely in both pairs of shoes. The labels on the tongues are indeed different, one says medium and one says wide. My conclusion is that these are the same shoe with different labels.

I do like the color and design of the shoe, but it has a manufacturing error. There is a fabric lump in the left heal that is uncomfortable. I do not think this is characteristic of the shoe.

Good support but the wide shoes are too snug. Not really wide enough

Hopefully a sturdy shoe in the LL B tradition. Product pictures were deceiving, however. What looked like regular size shoelaces from the side view, turns out to resemble an out of control bright white spaghetti obliterating the cut of the shoe. Now off to find size 45 laces in navy blue.

I always wear shoe size 9.5M. The 9.5M felt ok in the store but after wearing the shoes for 2 days I realized they were too short and my toes were very sore. Now I'm losing my large toenail. Can't return them because they have been worn. My fault but these shoes are shorter than most size 9.5.

This shoe does the job without being great at it. The toe has just enough room and the botttom enough padding. The white lining is bright white everywhere inside the shoe including the insole, which is glued down. People notice the shoes in a way that I'm makes me uncomfortable. The shoe is made in Myanmar which makes me uncomfortable too.

Very nice looking casual shoe. The construction is sturdy, but the footbed is not comfortable. Width runs wide. Return was accepted without question.

Like the listing but not the shoe. Looked proportionately long and sleek like the New Balance they were featured with in the LLB material. Seemed wide and of questionable style and durability (suede a bit suspect). First thing I ever returned to LLB. Overall, I can understand them being very desirable by many.

Had to return it. Wide was too tight. Wish Bean's carried 4E.

Initially comfortable but I've only been walking in them for a few weeks. The real test of a serious walking shoe is durability. Most shoes will feel great initially if they are the right size. LL Bean shouldn't request reviews so soon after purchase (or at least provide an option to defer a review for a reasonable time). This is a common flaw with E-Commerce sites - asking for immediate feedback. Too many customer's write glowing reviews the day their pruchase arrives (or within days of arrival) only to discover later the quality or performance to be less than their original assessment. I give credit to those who take the time to come back to these sites and update thier original review after they have used the product long enough to discover the good, the bad, and the ugly.

It doesn't have normal eyelets for the laces. The cloth loops used instead probably won't last as long as eyelets. Sorry I didn't notice that before the purchase. Never buy again

Comfortable but the laces loosened as I walked. Very unusual for me to return an item to Bean.

This is a nice looking shoe but it lacks the support one would expect of a fitness walker. I'm keeping it for regular wear but would not use this shoe for real fitness walking. If you pronate, avoid it.

I walk everyday and wore out my first pair of fitness walkers. I tried to make work, but I found this pair really hurt my right foot. LL Bean exchanged them for a different style. That's good service!

I wasn't going to leave a review - but since you sent me an email asking, here goes: I've been purchasing from LL Bean for over 30 years, this purchase was the first time I had to return an item. The shoes were extremely comfortable, was able to walk several miles right out of the box. (which is why I give it 3 stars instead of 1). There was some sort of defect, within a month the right heal wore thru on the inside, I came home from my daily walk with a bloody heal/sock and blood stains on the inside of the shoe. I sent an email to customer service, followed the procedure to return the shoes. As of this review I am still waiting for the email confirming that LL Bean have received the shoes and will be refunding my purchase price. I did order a pair of Keen hiking shoes - stay tuned for that review :)

Roomy, comfortable shoes. Not especially well padded--falls far short of most walking or running shoes I've tried. Attractive.

Shoes have been returned because they were too wide and loose in the toe box. Otherwise I liked and would have kept them. 10D is my size; these shoes mostly met the standard but fit too loosely.

Nice looking, comfortable, good value, casual shoe. This shoe is not my choice for a walking as exercise shoe however, the heel has too much "rocker" to suit my gait and old knees.

It would be nice to have it in a narrow size. Medium is too sloppy, although I will wear them until I find a better pair.

He loved them at first. Then they deteriorated rapidly. Inside of 4 weeks they looked like they were a year old. And they were worn only a few hours a day and not every day. And they weren't cheap.
