I love these shoes. They are comfortable, and they are perfect for casual days at the office as well as several outdoor events. The insoles are not glued, so they squeak. I suspect I could do something about it, but I have not tried, WARNING: Do not purchase if you intend to use them for cat burglaries or deep investigative work!

I really like the shoes, all except the inner soles, which start making noise after 10-15 minutes.

They feel good, but the break-in period will take a little time. I like the somewhat dresser look so I won't be wearing them every day.

I really, really like the styling. However I find them to be stiff and very heavy. I realize that break-in time varies by individual, but it's taking a long time for me to get them to feel comfortable. I regret the purchase.

I bought this pair of shoes thinking that they could last a lot longer than the light weight hiking/running shoes I often buy. They are built with sturdy leather and have vibram soles. The uppers should wear well and the shoes could be resoled when the soles wear out. There were a couple of problems which have left me less excited about these shoes. First, the tongue on the left shoe developed a fold just above the point where the tongue is sewn to the upper. I could put the shoes on, then take a few steps and the left tongue had slid down into the shoe. Stop, untie, pull the tongue up, retie, and take off. Boom, there goes that tongue again! Second, these shoes seem determined to pull my socks down! Walking around on the flats there was no problem. As soon as I came to an uphill stretch, the shoes start to pull my socks down! I hiked up a short hill by my house and had to stop at the top to take each shoe off and pull my socks up. I "fixed" the tongue problem by gluing a stiffer piece of leather on top of the lower part of the tongue. Not pretty but it did the trick. But I'm not sure there is a fix for the sock problem.

These shoes are stiffer than expected and take some getting used to compared to my more flexible hiking shoes. I needed a more formal shoe and initially liked these because the rigid toe shape was roomy and did not irritate my toe corn. But the jury is still out on overall comfort and Im not sure if I will keep them.

As a former Shoe Repairman, I know a quality shoe when I see it. From an all leather upper & welt to the full slipsole & Vibram sole, this shoe was meant to last. Well worth the asking price.

If you want a sturdy shoe with a Vibram sole, this is the one. The shoe fits well, is comfortable, looks good, and is strong and durable. The price for that strength and durability is that the shoe does require a break in period. There can be some rubbing and discomfort until the sole of the shoe flexes in concert with your foot. After that, smooth sailing all the way.

I've had these shoes for over a year. I wear them almost daily. The leather still looks great. They still offer great stability and the sole has negligible wear. I will buy again.

A sturdy walking shoe. I found the LL Bean insoles rather thick and bulky; replaced them with an after-market insole which made the comfort and fit much better.

Love the shoes quality leather fit perfect. Only problem is the sole of shoe is a type of foam and they have wore out very quickly. They would be perfect if they used a more durable rubber sole instead of foam .

the shoe was awesome but the sizing was wrong I wear 10 wide the first pair were to big and to wide. The next pair was a 9.5 which once to big and to wide. Still waiting on the third pair this time I ordered a nine regular will see how they fit. Plus your shipping/return process is really bad. It takes to long both coming and going now confirmation that they have arrived with you and no information about the when to expect the other pair.

Seems like a mostly fine shoe (though a heavy one). I returned them, however, because the mouth of the shoes cut into my ankle. If the ridge of the mouth was padded, they might have worked for me.

They are stylish, durable, and comfortable (after breaking them in, which is normal for this type of shoe). Basically, very high quality low top boots for $130. Additionally, it is difficult to find well made, wide width shoes/boots without spending upwards of $300. These have goodyear welts so the soles can be replaced, although they already come with vibram outsoles so I expect not to worry about it for a long time. I am expecting to wear them for the next few decades and look forward to it. Please don't stop making these.

The shoes look great, they're comfortable, and it seems like they will last a long time. The drawback is that there is a flaw in the sole. The outsole and midsole are not fully attached in the middle of the shoe, so every step results in a distinct squeak/click that cannot be fixed unless the entire shoe is dismantled. Personally, I hate squeaky footwear. Other reviews mentioned the problem, but I took the gamble and regret the decision. If this problem did not exist, these shoes would warrant 5 stars.
