This is probably the fourth pair my husband has purchased over the years. He loves them and when they wear out, he buys another.

I love these shoes so much. For the money, I wish they'd provide durable laces because the orginals snapped almost immediately.

Comfortable fit; nothing fancy, but good looking, classic style that is often hard to find. Thank you, LL Bean.

The way shoes use to be made, solid and comfortable enough for walking almost anywhere. Good foot support all around including the soles.

I've worn these for a couple of months. They are just what I expected. I am quite pleased with them. Before buying them I had read some reviews that were not positive. I was concerned but I trusted LL Bean to take them back if necessary so I bought them. I am keeping them.

Very heavy duty shoes. They need a little break in, but are very comfortable after that. They came with some very thick memory foam insoles that made the shoes tight on my feet. I replace these with some thin foam insole, and now they feel very good. These shoes should last a long time. Nice leather and triple stitched seams. They remind me of the old craftsman work shoes i used to buy in thr 70s.

Bought a pair: good shoe. Took a few days to break them in, very stiff (solid) shoe. My only complaint: the lace broke on one shoe (I tie tight?) and having trouble finding new laces to match

This pair of shoes not only very nice, they provide good arch support that I need and they are a very comfortable fit. I use a mink oil rub to keep the leather looking fresh and to avoid cracking from excessive exposure to the elements. Walking is a real comfort in these shoes.

High quality , took a few days to 'break-in m' Actually caused sore spots on my upper foot at ankle on first time wearing; but swapping use and shorter weare time allowed a break in and now they feel great. P

Purchased these shoes a few months ago and wear them to work (office environment) several days a week. I love the construction of the shoe. They seem really well built. I like how the inside is mostly leather. The shoes I've had with lots of fabric surfaces inside wear thru really fast for me. Because of the leather construction and stiff soles, you do have to wear them in but they do get comfy. Also, I noticed some folks complain about a clicking noise while walking. I did experience this on occasion but realized it was the shoe lace ends bouncing off the leather. This has appeared to go away with the softening of the leather and depending on the pants I am wearing. Very happy with these shoes.

LL Bean may be the last standing bastion of good quality materials and construction in America. We did have a problem with the first pair. But Bean also still has old fashioned customer service that made an exchange fast and easy. Granted, you pay a little more. But so worth it!!

I've been wearing the L.L. Bean Bucksport Shoes with plain toes for just over two months. Here are my observations and thoughts. Overall, I really like the shoes and would buy them again. However, there is room for improvement. 1. The laces Within the first week, the laces began to fray. When I asked about L.L. Bean about how to get replacement laces, I was told that L.L. Bean didn't sell/offer replacement laces, but I could exchange the shoes if I wanted. That would just be silly! How about using better laces and selling replacement laces or at least offer a source for them? Also, I am having a very difficult time finding replacement laces that look similar to the original laces and the correct length. 2. Include with the shoes, maintenance directions so that the customer doesn't have to take the time to call or chat with L.L. Bean. In addition, to my above comments, here's a tip for anyone that like me wears orthotics. For the shoes to fit with my orthotics, I had to remove the stock insole, but my orthotics made the shoes squeak. The solution that I found was using single layer pillow insoles from the drug store under my orthotics. Now no squeak and super comfortable shoes!

Shoes great, however laces are poor quality. Not even a week and started to fray. What's up with that?

The shoes fit great - true to size. I think they are made well enough to last although too soon to tell at this time. The only downside in fit is the lack of depth at the heel. Either the insole is too thick or the shoe is made fairly shallow at the heel. I will see how this low-on-the-heel fit evolves as I wear these shoes over time.

Have purchased 3 pairs absolutely love the shoe. But the sole is made from foam material not rubber .So i have 3 pairs in great shape that have worn out soles . . Make the sole rubber and you will have a great shoe

I bought three pair in April of 2025 for work. They've been great for walking around on hard floors all day. Took a while for them to break in but no worse than a pair of good work boots. Only issue I have is with the laces/eyelets. The top eyelet on two pairs is shredding the laces that come with the shoes. Currently looking for a quality lace replacement.
