Much too large and boxy.

The side pockets' interior fabric hangs all of the way across the front, leaving a visibly bulky.loose-hanging flap. This fabric is only attached at the side and center seams and is a different color from the corduroy. Of course I didn't notice it until.after I washed it since I have ordered this shirt many times before and loved it. Seriously bummed.

Terrible design. Would be an embarrassment to wear. The large pockets are light chambray blue on the inside of a black cordoroy shirt. You could never leave the shirt unbuttoned for fear of looking ridiculous. Shame on LL Bean!

I've had a few of these shirts over the years. The one I most recently bought, beginning of 2022, has all of the sudden ripped. These are not the same quality of my previous versions and I am very disappointed that L L Bean has resorted to using cheaper fabrics. The quality is horrible, not only with the fabric but with the amount of loose threads on the product.

The body of the shirt fits nicely and the sleeves are way too long for a petite size. Also, the sleeves felt bulky and cumbersome. Going to return the shirt.

For some unknown reason, you have added a 12.5"x7.5" light blue pocket to the bottom inside of each side of the shirt. The shirt is a medium green. It stands out like a sore thumb. I can't remove it, as it is sown into the seams of the shirt. This is a classic Bean shirt. If I see someone wearing one of these, I know they shopped at Beans. I've literally worn these shirts for decades. I buy other shirts with the intention of wearing them under these big shirts. I guess I'll have to create a different look. I'm returning this, and I'm not even going to bother to unwrap the red one that I also bought.

Had to send this back because the BLUE fabric used for the interior pockets could be seen through the ivory corduroy. I reordered a darker color corduroy shirt.

This shirt is very poorly constructed. The insides of the fronts have an unfinished piece of cotton denim-looking fabric attached which is sewn into the corduroy on two edges and is unfinished on the other two edges. I thought L.L. Bean had higher standards than putting an item of such poor quality in their catalogue, and as a customer I feel very disappointed and am now in doubt about the quality of other products. L.L. Bean: you should do better.
Disappointed,

I have 2 of the beautiful "old corduroy shirts"!This shirt is one and one half inches (1 1/2") smaller than the two I have. Also the fabric is stiff feeling.
Part of the problem is the ridiculous
cheap piece of gray fabric that serves as a pocket as an after thought? Basically it fits tight. My daughter will be here in a couple of
weeks and I'll decide at that time whether to return it. I may cut the gray fabric out and close the outside opening. I
This does not represent LLBean's quality.

This shirt is totally different from the previous shirts I bought. I did not like the hem at the bottom and it ran small by comparison to the other similar shirts I bought for years.

It took me a long time to remove the pockets and shorten the shirt. Please bring back The Big Shirt!

I have purchased these shirts for years, every color. Last year I needed to update some of the colors and ordered one. It came with terrible pockets, hardly sewn in on the side. These pockets made the shirt bulky on the side and not sit nicely when worn. I returned the shirt and wrote a review about. Why did LL Bean change a good item? I was hoping this year I could order more shirts but no change they still have the pockets. It is not only me writing about this, I have seen countless reviews about the pockets are no good. Please please take the pockets away and bring back the shirt without them as we all loved.

why on earth did the horribly conceived pockets pass quality control? they wouldn't have passed 7th grade sewing class! a waste of fine corduroy. i gave mine to the homeless... but i think i should have included an apology..... what possessed you to discontinue your crowning achievement the corduroy big shirt? and what are we to do without a new one or three every year? please if you must have pockets for cell phones match them to the corduroy and change the style otherwise back to it's earlier PERFECTION though with pockets. for the ubiquitous cell phones. i don't use a cell phone but i have a grand sense of style and quality oh,. it was bad enough having to change the brown plastic buttons to better buttons the corduroy deserved, but it was worthwhile but it is impossible to replace the dreadful pockets. hey, i love blue chambray. on blue chambray. it looks cheap .. tacky and ridiculous on this shirt! in fact it looks like what would happen if i made the corduroy shirt at home and upon its completion i remembered i needed pockets for my cell phone and i just pulled the chambray out of the rag pile. please. how about both versions.? please both factions. thank you .

I bought this shirt and called LL Bean about the pockets. The person I spoke with said I should give it a bit and see if I do end up liking it.
The pockets are bulky and as the material relaxes with washings, the pockets continue to be bulky.
I absolutely loved the previous version of this shirt and would get many compliments and questions on where I purchased it. Not the current version with pockets. I can't even recommend it.

This was a nice jacket, if that is what you wanted. WAY too heavy for indoor wear. Nice design with pockets if you want a mid weight outdoor jacket.

Nice jacket but blue lined pockets??? Reading other reviews , seems like no matter what colors you order, pockets are always blue. BIG problem!!! Looks hideous!!!

The pockets are denim on the inside so if you wear the shirt open, the giant pieces of denim fabric are very visible. I had to return for that reason.

The blue pockets looked terrible if the shirt was not buttoned all the way, and the fabric felt thin and scratchy. I sent it back immediately.

I returned this shirt immediately because the huge and ugly blue pockets inside the shirt look terrible unless you keep the shirt buttoned up the entire time you are wearing it. The fabric was also thinner than I had expected.

I did not like this shirt. The pockets were denim under the peach-colored shirt. The whole shirt looked cheap to me, mostly in the way it was sewn together.

I have been wearing LLBeans Big Shirt forever, both lined and unlined. and loving every color.
I ordered a new Big Shirt in Unlined Sea Salt ( soft white ), and I am so disappointed with the changes that have been made.
The fit is tighter, so not as roomy and comfortable.
And the pockets in this lovely white shirt are deep blue, and huge. The blue pockets look bad when wearing the shirt open. And when wearing it buttoned up, the deep shows through the Sea Salt.
I am returning this item, and am truly sad.
Please LLBean, bring back the beloved original Big Shirt! It was a LLBean favorite for a reason.

Poor quality corduroy . Has nubs running along the surface of every raised pile length . Is probably not made the way corduroy used to be made . Bad detailing at sleeve . I ordered a tall and the sleeves were in no way made for a tall woman .

This shirt was way too thick around the hem & cuffs, too bulky
and not the softer
corduroy I'd expected, from it's picture in the catalog.
The olive color was way too faded.
I had expected a deep olive, again from the photo in catalog.
It was a real disappointment.
