I always wear size medium (10-12) in coats. This coat is cut for someone that has skinny arms. My arms are muscular, but average (don't know how anyone with a waddle of fat under their arm could wear this either). Going back,

It had little to no wind resistance. It does not seal out cold or moisture. I wasn't warm enough for 45 degrees. It's not worth $180.00

The coat is comfortable and lightweight but that's about all I can say that's good about it, unfortunately. For the price of this coat, I'd expect much better quality. The zippers are plastic and not always easy to zip. The pocket lining feels cheap and thin. The most surprising thing about this coat was that the lining shed onto my sweater. When it arrived, it was bunched up at the bottom and had dried white spots that fortunately as able to be wiped off. Anyway, I found there to be way too many things unacceptable for a coat of this price point and for LL Bean.

I have to say that the coat looked really nice in the catalog, but when I got it, it was as thin as a piece of paper. Not sure how you would have it keep you warm in a Chicago winter.

Loved the color, but not as warm as the down loft coat I was trying to replace. Bean has made changes to this coat since I purchased my original, not happy with the changes.

I wore this coat on a long walk for the first time. Got the Spruce Green, which is lovely. The fleece lining she's all over the front, back snd sides of my cotton shirt and all over the thighs of my leggings. I threw it in the wash and the lint screen collected enough to make a small kid's coat. I hung it up after the dryer and will try wearing it again to see if it resolved. Expected much more out of a coat this price.

This coat fits and looks good, gives shapely hourglass womanly silhouette, feels good to the touch, is warm and I feel cozy in it. I like the lining on neck. It goes well over my dresses in 50 degree drizzly weather. It gives a lovely hourglass shape, the weight is just right. The teal color is very beautiful. The lining is just enough warmth. Petite sleeves are perfect for me. I usually buy petite medium, and that size was tight over my hips so I bought petite large and this worked very well. Its a coat that feels lived in and comfortable, cozy, without being too hot. I look forward to a bright cobalt blue, royal purple, emerald green or other lively color variety of this coat. Buy yourself one of these well made fashionable and functional pieces!

While the coat itself fit great, the sleeves wouldn't allow for wearing something warm under them. They fit just like the XL.

I ordered this in a 1x, hoping that the fit would be perfect. I normally would order a large or an extra large, depending on how the item ran...true to size, etc. When I got the coat, it fit as expected in the arms and the chest, but the hip area was very, very, (did I say very?) BIG!! making the coat "BELL" out and look ridiculous on me. I felt like I had a very large caboose!! Not an appealing look, so sadly, the coat is going back to LL Bean. Please rethink the design of these coats! Not everyone is a pear shape.

I am 5'9" and weigh 130lbs. I bought this coat in a small and it fits beautifully. Most coats make me look overweight simply because I need a DD bra. This coat doesn't but instead is figure flattering. I love the carbon navy. Matches everything. I am from the northernmost town in Maine where it doesn't get above -30 degrees day or night for months in a row. That's 30 below zero, not above zero. I still have my LL Bean down parka from when I lived in Maine, but I live in Alabama now and needed a thinner coat for winter. My down LL Bean coat kept me warm in Maine, but this coat does NOT keep me warm in Alabama winter weather. I have a Guess wool dress coat that keeps me warm here, but I wanted a casual coat too for weekends when I don't have to dress up. This coat is not anywhere near as warm as wool. It's not even as warm as my LL Bean fleece jacket that I wear inside my house whenever I'm home in the fall, winter, or spring in Alabama. I'm keeping this coat simply because it will work as a raincoat, and we get more rain in Birmingham than Seatlle gets. The fleece lining is unbelievably thin. The sleeves are not lined at all. The quilting on the exterior is almost a facade, meaning it feels like just a cotton bedsheet is used for insulation in the quilting. I had to feel repeatedly to see if there was anything whatsoever in the quilting. I'll be in the North Carolina mountains (6,000 foot elevation with snow) this Christmas and will be packing my old LL Bean down coat rather than this coat. Bummer. I was hoping I could be warm without having to look overweight. I guess I can't have it all.

The upper arms and shoulders of this jacket are absurdly tight- I own a different primaloft LLBean jacket which is actually a smaller size and the arms are better fitting. I would suggest sizing up if you have broad shoulders. This coat also is very thin, I'm skeptical it would keep anyone warm even with the fleece lining. Sending it back.

Quality far below what is expected from LLBean. Had I not worn it once, I would return it.

I liked the fit of this jacket. However it is not warm. Even in 40 degree weather with a fleece on underneath I was cold. Some of this could be age related but either way I need warm! The other concern after washing once it looks like a worn out coat. Don't know why, washed according to directions. I am returning, thankfully there is a liberal return policy. This was not a bargain purchase at $220.

Have this jacket in the shorter style so decided to order the longer one as well. Inside fleece lining was hanging below hem of coat and could be seen. There was so much lining on the inside it just hung down like it was stretched out. Awful. Returned.

I received this coat as a Christmas gift and wore it twice. After just one wash, the zipper failed. Unfortunately, the coat is lightweight and does not justify the cost.

I think the jacket would have been nice but the armholes were not cut evenly by inches. That caused the coat not to fit properly,

Very light jacket. The fleece lining felt too clingy and seemed to pull on the left side.

I'm very disappointed with this coat. As a longtime fan of L.L. Bean, I expected better quality. I purchased it to use as a casual winter coat, but it failed to keep me warm even in 46-degree weather. On top of that, the price listed online was $220, yet the tag inside the coat shows $199. This inconsistency and lack of warmth make it fall short of the standards I've come to expect from L.L. Bean.

I purchased this coat and paid $220 for it. The tag on the coat says $199! How can they do that??? Very disappointed!

Zipper got stuck the minute I zipped it up. This coat is thin and not worth the money!

Not like the LL Bean that I'm used too. I would have gladly paid more for the quality of old. I could buy this quality from many stores!

I was quite disappointed to see the poor quality of this "coat". Could NEVER be worn on a cold day. Sleeves were very short. Ver disappointed in LL Bean for this one.

This otherwise amazing coat has stains through normal wear along the cuffs, pockets and more generally the front that cannot be removed. I've had it for a few seasons and wash the coat regularly by spraying the stains (Oxi Clean, rub it in and wait some 30 minutes), washing it with detergent and drying it on a low heat (because it cannot air dry with the filling). The stains will fade but remain and quickly return. They are frankly embarrassing however the fit, warmth, color and economics keep me from throwing it out. (I'm not sure it can be donated with the stains.)
