Purchased a size large instead of my typical medium because I wanted it a little roomier for layering. Well made! This is going to be perfect for our upcoming Northern New York winter!

...but LL Bean, the reviews would be so much more useful if people who give their height and weight also included what size they bought. Why not provide a blank to fill out for specific size?

This was my first winter with this coat. It was absolutely perfect! The perfect weight for running errands, and jumping in and out of the car! It laundered well, and the lining is very cozy and warm. Depending on how cold it was, I adjusted my layers. The hood saved my hairdo on many a snowy day! Did I say I loved the color as well? Great coat!

I absolutely love this coat, because while it is mid-May it is still frosty in the mornings in CO and this is the perfect weight, warm, but not sweating!

I bought this coat for the beautiful Silver Moon color and it really is gorgeous. I'm 5'6" and weight 125 and the Large was a good fit. I hoped it would be as warm as my 10-year old LLBean jacket which is looking a bit worn, but it just wasn't warm enough and I had to return it.

Perfect color, sizing, and length! Exactly what I wanted with NO itchy down insulation, yet soft warm cozy lining and a hood that does not constantly fall down on winter morning pup walks! I hesitated because of price, but absolutely no regrets after a long search!

Excellent coat for when it's super chilly. I love my thin down jackets, but I need the extra fleece layer when it's in the single digits. I also love that this is long enough to cover more body and goes well with long tunics or short dresses. So worth it! I usually wear XL, but I needed to get 1X because this is fitted.

This jacket is great. It's lightweight, roomy yet flattering, and seems well made. I like how the hood fits and how the zipper works from both ends.

This women's coat fit snug. It is comfortable wearing coat and does keep you warm. The fact that it is machine washable make it an excellent choice for me. I will be wearing this primaloft coat all winter long. Thank you Marianne

I bought this coat early in the winter season as I had just moved to Wisconsin and needed a warmer coat. I already had a "super duper cold weather" coat for negative temps. I was hoping this coat would fill in the gaps. As it's almost end of season, I wanted to review again after using all winter. My favorite aspect is that this coat is lightweight and not bulky, so can easily go in and out of the car and stores. I also really love the hood. It comfortably fits a hat underneath, and really fits better with a hat, but also won't blow off your head it you don't have a hat on. Since it is slight fitted, I ordered a large which is my usual LLBean size for slightly fitted styles. It has some shape, as it goes in at the waist but has room for my hips, so I don't feel like a big cube of coat all while having room for a medium fleece layer. While a warm coat, below 35-40 degrees or so, you will need to have another layer to be warm, especially if it's windy. I wore this coat daily and was so happy to have it. I only wore my "super duper" coat for a week in December when the wind chill was -36, all the rest of the days I wore this coat. I plan to buy another color for next season as I am tiring of navy blue. I highly recommend you give this coat a chance! For reference, I'm a curvy 5'5" and 160ish pounds, and the size large fits great.

Love this coat. It's can pack easily and is warm but not bulky at all. It's perfect for cold weather but not frigid weather.

Perfect for windy days. Just the right length to cover your back. Roomy enough to be able to wear a sweater if needed. Great warmth without the bulk. Love the double zipper and zippered pockets.

This coat was bought for my sister, who absolutely loves it and wears it all the time. She likes the weight of it, its warmth, and the hood. The length is perfect for extra warmth. She is 5' 2", 110# and has the small, which seems to be true to size for her.

I bought this for the midweight warmth (perfect for coastal NC winters), the hood for windy days, the length, and most of all for the gorgeous color. Bonus: the zipper! Unlike my older LLBean coats, this zipper is easy to zip and strong. The coat is soft and cozy. Don't discontinue it please!

A very nice coat. It fits well and the red color is really pretty, like merlot.

Lightweight but perfect for rain or snow and includes head cover too.

I live in Michigan where we definitely get winter! I grab my permal off coat every morning at 20 after 8:00 and meet my friends for a 4 mile walk. It has been the best coat to wear all this winter. Love the length and the hood is coming handy and windy days.

Love this jacket. I needed something to replace my puffy northface, this is still fairly warm without the bulk. It's slimming and very comfy. Not for extreme cold but great for daily winter wear.
