I loved the look of the sweater but it seemed to weigh a "ton." It felt stiff and rough. I wish it felt like it looked

Did not care for the fit. Neck seems a little bit and arms were too tight.

This is my second Fisherman in the L.L.Bean Signature line.
I find the tunic to be long enough to cover my rear and looks as it should with leggings etc.
The fabric is a heavy cotton that does feel rough, especially when newer. After a few washes it loosened up a bit for me and I do not feel uncomfortable wearing it at all.
The fit in this line seems to be more snug in the arms for some reason. My normal size is Small and that was what I had ordered in my other fisherman (not the tunic version), so I sized up with this to a Large. It still felt snug in arms but does loosen with wear. Due to sizing up, the neck is a bit goofy looking. It is already wider than a normal crew neck and is not impossible to style, but a bit awkward for me.
I have the natural cream color so I cannot speak to the color fading.

This is a beautiful sweater with nice weight to it; however, the thread/yarn must be of poor quality as they are breaking - leaving little threads poking out everywhere. I have never washed it and only wore it to Sunday Mass and back home. For the price, I would have expected this sweater to last more than the handful of times I have gently worn it before showing this much wear.

The knit is rather thick and heavy cotton. It was rather bulky. I returned the sweater.

I'm disappointed that this sweater doesn't come in a petite size. Love the design.

This sweater is a bit heavy and the yarn is somewhat chunky so it snags easily. The zippers are a nice touch but I think buttons would be a better design / style fit for this type of sweater. Overall keeping me warm but has some issues.

I've bought other LLBean sweaters in size large that fit great, but this was was a tent. The neck opening was enormous as well. I'm going to try to exchange for a smaller size. If I ordered by chest size, it would have been an XL, and I knew that couldn't be right. Even so, the large made me look like I was a little kid wearing my dad's sweater. Be warned, especially if you are busty.

Nice shirt but longer than I expected and very heavy. It isn't the most comfortable shirt because it is so heavy but it is very well made.

Nice quality, beautiful color. Not fond of the zippers on the side or the length.

This is a lovely sweater, however definitely not for a petite person. In spite of an ok length overall, sleeves were way long and cuffing them make the wrists too bulky.
The main reason I returned this sweater, though, was because there were uncomfortably large gaps in the knit. I was concerned about the quality and how well it would hold up with use.
Nice color. Nice style. I really wanted it to work!!

Love love love this sweater but why did the tag on the sweater say 109 and I paid 129. Go figure that was disappointing.

I bought this sweater about 3 years ago. I love the style, I love the fit. But the cotton has never been very soft. It's kind of rough. I've tried everything to soften it up. Washing it with fabric softener. It just seems to get worse. I'd love to get another one, but the feel of the cotton has me a little nervous to get one. I'm really disappointed because I love my sweater. I just wish it was softer.

I bought the pink one, it was delivered last night, and it was so disappointing. It wasn't pink, like the picture. It was pink with white cables. It's very well-made, Bean quality, but it isn't solid pink. I had to send it back.

I was looking for a tunic-length, cotton sweater. Unfortunately, this wasn't it. The length of this sweater is odd--the back length falls just above the bottom of the buttocks (I'm 5' 4" for reference); very unflattering. The curved shape to the hem makes it look unfinished and distorted, not trendy. The neckline is bulky and huge, so if you're petite this will be overwhelming. However, the cotton knit is substantial and the quality is good (hence the 3 stars). The green washed color was beautiful. Would have liked to keep it!

I bought this in the forest green and while I liked it, the weave was just a little to chunky, the fading just a little too deliberate, and the weight just a little too heavy. Felt true to size though. I returned it.

The pattern of this sweater is lovely, but I swam in it! I do have narrow hips, and it may work for someone curvier. I ordered a small, but I didn't try to exchange it. The overall size was so large that I doubt an extra small would have worked either. It was also too long for me, though my biggest issue was the width at the hips. Back it went.

Washed out color is awesome. However sizing was way too large. I am usually a large, 5'9" 180#. However I this was huge on me. Not a flattering fit. Sweater is made in China.

Returned. Ordered two sizes, both fit awkwardly. The cable work is highlighted with a much lighter thread. Does not look natural. The pronounced contrasting makes the sweater rather look like a jester's top. Not soft but stiff.

Saw this in the catalog and added it to my Christmas list and surprise! it was under the tree for me. HOWEVER, it has been returned. I know the catalog description says "crispy" yarn (I now know what that means), but this sweater is extremely coarse and not at all soft or comfortable. It literally feels like it was knit from rough twine! So disappointing.

I was so excited about this sweater. Loved the washed indigo color, the fisherman knit pattern, and what looked like a neckline more open than regular crew. I also thought I'd like the length. In the end i liked the pattern, open neckline, and the fact that it was cotton, but not the weight of the yarn or the length....It was altogether too bulky and too long for me. I read the reviews and they were quite good so i didn't expect to not like it.
I would definitely buy a revised version of this sweater with a lighter weight yarn, softer, cotton or any combination of cotton and linen, hemp, rayon or bamboo, low hip length- not longer,

I read reviews and ordered a size smaller than I usually wear. I'm 5 7 130lbs and buy mediums on top and a pretty solid size 8 on bottom. I ordered a small but it was very baggy in the armpits. The quality was really nice so ordered the XS and it fit better but still too odd to keep. I expect a tunic to stay low if I use my arms...this one came up over my bellybutton if I lifted my arms. If you have long arms, a full chest and a short torso this is your sweater. It's too bad; I love the heavy weave.

I read the reviews of others - in particular several of those that say this runs large - it DOES NOT. The body is very tapered and the armholes and arms cut very small - not for someone who lifts weights or who has larger arms. Pretty sweater overall, but it is going back. Afraid the next larger size will run too big in the neck area.
