THIS SWEATER IS MADE BEAUTIFULLY ... WISH IT CAME IN
MANY DIFFERENT COLORS. IT DOES RUN BIG, SO MAKE SURE
YOU ORDER ONE SIZE DOWN FROM YOUR NORMAL SIZE.

Ordered this sweater in green (mt. Spruce) in xxs (I am 5'0" and 108lbs.) The neck is a bit wide, but with a turtleneck under it, the sweater looks nice. I am always concerned when I order online because items frequently end up being too large or too long, even if they are petite (which this wasn't). The reviews really help me decide if the size could work on someone with my height. This sweater worked out better than I thought. I wear it just with leggings because, on someone with my height, it looks too long over regular pants. I'd say it comes to the top part of my thigh. It is heavy and you feel it when you're wearing it. It is thick, warm and makes a nice layering piece too. If you're struggling over whether to get it or not, I'd say go for it.

I bought this in the plum color, which looks more like a rose or mauve to me. I love the beautiful knit and color. For me, this sweater seemed to run large. I am normally an XS in clothing and I purchased an XXS. I like the longer length, which I find flattering. The sweater feels like it is high quality and a good heavier weight that will be good for cold weather. As this was a bit of a splurge for me even at sale price, I am hoping it will be a purchase that lasts for years.

I adore this sweater. I have it in cream and logged in to buy in the heather and it is sold out. :(..
I wear this sweater with jeans or leggings. It fits perfectly in place of a jacket in cooler weather and to keep the cost of heating down inside. The quality is awesome, no itching, and the arms are fitted, not over big! Will still fit under a barn coat. :) I have other sweaters new this season and keep reaching for this one.

I bought 3 of these. One is back ordered, but I will will wait. I was looking for something stylish and warm that wasn't a sweatshirt to wear with leggings. This just covers the bum, so I can wear it anywhere. It's a heavy, soft cotton.
Thanks for the stylish, tasteful, useful piece of clothing. :)

This sweater felt medium to heavy weight, just as I'd hoped. I'm 5'4" and the tunic length was a little above mid-thigh. I usually wear small and that's what I ordered. The fit was comfortable, not too snug. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

One of the best purchases I've ever made. The fit is outstanding and very flattering. It is a good heavy weight sweater as fisherman sweaters should be!

I bought xx-small and it fits perfect. I'm 5'2" 110 lbs. I wore a thermal underneath and it kept me warm.

I love the look of fishermen sweaters, but this in wool might have been too heavy for me. This is a nice chunky cotton knit. It is perfect for me for days where I want to be super comfortable, but also to look cute but not think too much about my outfit (for me, most days). I wear it with leggings, either over a tee/tank top or over a wool base layer depending on the weather, and it actually works great as my fall/winter airplane outfit. Because it is a little bulky I was surprised it worked for me for travelling. I tend to go back and forth between freezing and overheating when traveling, but this is thick enough to be warm but, as a cotton knit, also breathable. I'm 5.2 and 112lb and the length for me was exactly where I wanted it, just long enough to cover the butt.

I love the look and fit of this sweater. Be aware this is a heavy sweater, great for cold days. It pairs nicely with leggings or jeans. I'm 5'4", 130 lbs. and small fits perfectly with bottom hem hitting just below hips.

This sweater was a splurge for me and I don't regret it. It's thick and heavy but soft. The quality seems excellent and the fit is just as described.

I found this sweater in store and fell in love with it, but I had to order it online to get the color and size I like. It is made of quite thick heavy fabric and feels very warm. I expect it should hold up really well over the years. I really liked the tunic style that falls below the hip, so you can wear it with leggings or skinny jeans and a vest. I think it does seem to run large, but should still fit kind of loose. Hoping for some cold weather to be able to start wearing it!

I haven't worn this yet, as it's been too warm, but maybe tomorrow! Generously sized, and long enough for me at 5'10" and 158 lbs, I got a medium. Seems fairly well-made. I was hesitant, but got the mountain spruce (green) color. The tiny swatch in the catalog and online make it hard to tell, but it's a pretty good color in real life. I wish LL Bean offered more in tall sizes for women, especially in tops/sweaters/jackets.

Just got this in Spruce from my kids - I prefer it to the fisherman sweater because it's not boxy but a flattering length (below waist) and slimming. It also has a short zipper on the sides which makes less traditional. The color has a sort of "faded look" - A small is perfect which seems on the small side considering I'm 5'9 and slim.
Going to get every color!

I LOVE this sweater. You may not be able to see it in the online pictures but there are cute side zippers that really look great, and the wash makes it look really interesting. It's a sturdy sweater that lays well on the body. The one thing I'd advise is go way small on sizing. I'm a medium/size 8 top and I prefer things fitted, and I had to go with the XS size.

Heavyweight sweater. Feels too heavy but we'll see when winter rolls around. I like that it's cotton and it's a pretty color.

I loved how the rose colored sweater skimmed my body and I've received a number of compliments. However, I loved it so much I ordered the cream color and it fits quite differently, much looser and not as sophisticated. Please note that both sweaters run large, so order a size down. However, I'm disappointed that two identical LL Beach sweaters are not consistently sized. I expect more from LL Bean.

This sweater is really heavy, very long, and has zippers on the sides which I missed before ordering. Great as an outer layer, but probably too heavy to just wear around the house unless it's really cold. Good quality, but ver long, I could get away with it as a belted dress with leggings. Glad I didn't pay full price.

Its a wonderful weight. The faded color is perfect with everything. Just wearing it makes me relax. I would have given it 5 star, but there is a lot of strings that detract from perfection.

I'm about 5'6, 135 lbs, with long arms. I got a medium. The arms fit perfectly, but it is very loose around the torso. The item description says slightly fitted, but I would say it is more of a relaxed fit, almost baggy. Suits me fine, but it was a surprise.

(This is a message to LL Bean rather than a review) I'm SO in love with this sweater!!! I've been admiring it for the olive color and the lovely, unique rustic look of chunky cable knit w/ shading for a long time now! "Signature" line unfortunately is not a good fit for older ladies like me (body shape changes with age!), plus you sold out in all but the smallest size (as usual; please stock more of the larger sizes to better meet the demand!)
Please, please please offer this shaded chunky cable in regular misses sizes, in this olive and in the blue, and with a longer length for a more flattering look!!!
Thank you! (I LOVE LL Bean; it rocks!!!)

I love this sweater for several reasons: the robust cotton, the washed-out muted colors, the length (hits low -hip on my 5'4"), the zippers, and the attractive fisherman pattern on the body. My reservation is about the most bulky cable pattern that is featured only on the sleeves - it makes my arms look enormous! Oh please, please, LLBean, will you consider making this tweak to future editions of this women's sweater?

I was hoping I would really love this sweater, but alas, back it went. I am 5'2" and 135 lbs. Unfortunately, it was really long on me. I know it's a tunic, but this was ridiculous. It came down to my mid-thigh and made my legs look extremely short. Other than that, beautiful color, beautiful knit.
