Typically I am a size Large in all LL Bean except jackets so bought a medium in this vest and it was HUGE! Exchanged it for a small and I couldn't be happier

This vest is really warm and I like the colors. It is rather heavy but I understand why the waxed cotton weighs more than the usual nylon fabric and that is fine with me.

The quality of this best is unmatched. Something I know I will own for quite some time. Pockets are in the perfect place buttons are great quality fabric and stitching is perfect.

This vest has become an easy casual staple. It's cute and functional. I would say size up if you want more space for a chunky sweatshirt underneath.

I'm particular when it comes to purchasing outerwear. This vest is exactly as I hoped, maybe even better. It is incredibly warm without overheating me. The hand warming pockets are awesome and in the perfect spot. This allows for the other generous sized pockets to be used for storing items. The quality of stitching will give this a long life. The exterior easily wipes clean. I wear this for outdoor work, walking dogs, hiking, and yet looks great when I run errands. It was worth the investment and I'll probably never let it go. Amazing quality.

This is one very serious winter that we have been enduring and this is a serious vest for this unrelenting FREEZING cold season. LLBEAN has many choices for vests , but this is the one that keeps me warm every time I wear it. Sturdy construction and serious materials known to provide warm in challenging winter. I am so happy that I bought it. I wear it under my LLBean lined barn coat - toasty warm. I recommend this vest for cold weather.

Well made, sturdy vest. It fits as expected. I am a medium but I need to be able to wear over layers and a sweatshirt so I purchased a large. One minus is the zipper locks too well and I struggle every single time to get out of the vest and I am putting it on and taking off three times a day.

Love it! Do not want to take it off and have worn it almost every day since I got it. I am a cold-natured Texan; the vest keeps me warm, whether it is 50 to 60 degrees or whether it is below freezing. Even in the house it takes off the chill. The fit is true to size, but roomy enough to accommodate a thick sweater underneath. I am on the cusp between M and L and weigh about 137; I'm glad I ordered the medium. I've had no trouble with the zipperit's just a matter of aligning the top and bottom part of the two-way zipper pull. This vest is by far my very warmest, even counting other down vests.

I am just under 5'11", but have a short torso. It is important to me to find things which hit at a spot that don't look too long, but are low enough to create a better appearing balance of proportions. That said this item hits perfectly. However, I probably should have initially purchased in Small, but ordered a Medium. It is HUGE on me. I think I may get the XSmall just to see if IT fits. There is little shaping, so the "slightly fitted" is a misnomer. It almost feels masculine in the cut. If the XSmall is too small I will better examine this one for alteration potential, though I am currently not optimistic about that possibility, and will likely just have to return it. Would recommend based on quality, but would suggest sizing down... I'll also perhaps hang onto it and see if they come back in stock to exchange for small.

Love this vest, but know that it's a little bit stiff, meant more for outdoors than just wearing around the house or out casually.

Great Vest and beautiful color, for horseback riding

Fabulous fit and construction, stylish and light weight. Wanted a down vest that was not bulky and too poofy, while being waterproof and windproof. This vest is remarkable and ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend and worth the price.
