I bought these as a replacement for a similar pair I've had for four or five years. My original pair is no longer available -- they're ones that had the black and white check lining. They're just about perfect, and still holding up well after many many wearings, amazing for staying warmer in the winter. They don't fit at the moment, so I bought the closest I could find. Several difficulties, most of which others have mentioned: The elastic tie for the waist is so stretchy that I cannot get it tight enough, resulting in me needing to pull them up often. The cuffs have a pull that should cinch them tighter, but there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the pull secure except for tying it? The front pockets aren't deep enough. The fit for me is not as flattering as the old pair. And most of all, they are not as warm as the other pair I have. Once I'm buying lined pants, I want them really warm even if that makes them a little bulky. A good number of reviews complain that they start pilling. Mine have not pilled, yet. I've washed them twice. I am probably keeping the pants because I have not been able to find a replacement, and even with my complaints, these are still better than not having any. I'm a longtime L.L. Bean customer. I'd really love it if these pants could be improved.

I have four pairs of these pants. Two are made in the older style with cotton fabric, cotton drawstring and binding on the pockets. The two new ones I have are lighter for sure which is nice, but the fabric snags. Especially when walking thru the woods with thorny vines, etc. The zippered pockets are most uncomfortable and they scratch my hands every time I put them into the pockets. And last, I don't understand the waistline cord being made of stretchy fabric. I have to pull the heck out of it to tighten the waist. So, that's my two cents - I miss the prior ones.

The fit was good and it was nice not to have to hem them. They just don't feel particularly well made and the warmth was ok but I wouldn't wear them in Norway like I did their predecessor. If I had had time I would have shopped for a better pair.

These felt great when I tried them on, soft, snuggly but I didn't sit down in them or kneel in them in the dressing room. Kinda breezy when I knelt down or sat down, if you know what I mean.

Not as well made as previous pants fro LLBean. Quality has declined. So sad.

I love these pants , lightweight and lined and will continue to wear them , but they have a big problem with "pilling " .

These pants are very comfortable, fit well, and are surprisingly warm for the thickness. However, I wish they would fix two things. First, an elastic drawstring on an elastic waist makes no sense! Second, the lower side pockets need to be longer to fit a cell phone.

These and another lined pant I purchased from LLBean have the same problem. The rise in the back is too low, so you are forever trying to pull up the back. This isn't true of unlined pants I've purchased. Sigh.

I've been agonizing about sending these back but don't see much of an alternative right now. I just spent a while re-engineering the waist, by extracting the elastic shoe string which is waaaay too stretchy to hold anything above my hips, and inserting heavier weight elastic which can do the job. This entailed removing the LLBean label which blocked the channel, and making a new hole to thread in the new elastic since it comes with two tiny shoe string sized holes, which are beautifully button-holed, but not any use in the redesign. Otherwise they are comfortable for this current cold snap that is including Florida in its grip.

I love my Vista Camp Capri and like the Vista camp shorts so I thought I'd try these for winter. I had to take my socks off to try them on because my socked feet kept getting stuck in the lining. The lining felt too big for the pants. As far as size, I think my regular size would have been fine, but the feeling of the lining and the look was not for me. Returned immediately.

I love my unlined Vista Camp Pants, so bought these. The rise is shorter on the lined pants, so they didn't fit right. They're going back, sadly. The weight is just what I was looking for.

I so wanted to love these, but sadly, I don't. I like them, but don't love them. I got the pretty turquoise color, which I like. The fleece lining they have is absolutely wonderful, so soft and warm. The outer fabric is the nice vista fabric I have on a belted not lined version of these pants. The length is short, I got the regular size and the length was just right for me. I typically order petite sizes though so for a person taller than me (with longer legs) I think they would be too short. But the fit when actually walking and moving is subpar. They seem to fit when you put them on and are sitting around the house. But the waist doesn't stay cinched with the cord very well. And as soon as one starts to walk, they begin to pull down, like a pair of too low rise stretchy jeans. But they aren't stretchy, and they aren't jeans, so it is unclear why that is actually happening. They are so soft and comfy I really hope LLBean does something about that fit issue. I would also like to see the vista belted (belt loop zip front) version of these pants in petite sizes with this nice lining. They only make the belted version in regular sizes for some reason. I think that version would stay up better and wouldn't pull.

The only problem with these type of pants is the "elastic drawstring " that is sooo useless that I always have to switch it out with something that is useful. Otherwise these are a great pant.

I love these pants, lined. I gave them only 3 stars because the extra pocket on the side is not deep enough to hold my smartphone. It slides out when I sit. One cannot use the button to keep it in. A deep extra "camp" pocket is why I wear these kinds of pants so I am disappointed that they don't meet my expectation.

I have these in black and in blue. The black fabric is different. It pills. It also collects lint. Photo shows red spots from a sweatshirt I was wearing but there are usually other lint spots all over the pants even after washing. Otherwise I like these pants. Mostly. They are warm but I could do without the buttons on the pockets as they tend to snag on things.

The elastic in the waist should be stronger. If your standing it's fine. But when you bend or sit the pants get pulled down and you have to pull them up when you get up. You can tighten the draw string which helps.

These have been my go-to pants for years in the fall and winter.they changed the outside fabric on these pants this year which I do not care for. The outside fabric now pills.

Now that return period is over they are pilling a lot on the outside. Also, the buttons are excessive. I ended up cutting them off in back as they kept snagging on things. I like the zipper pockets but not the buttons.

I love these pants for winter although I did have to lengthen because I have long legs. . The only thing is they pill really bad. Please find a better outer layer.

I have several pairs of the unlined camp pants - which I love. I'm 5'2" and need a regular length in the regular camp pants (one would think that would be petite, but us petite gals know that LLBean petites are for really really vertically challenged people.) I was excited to order these for winter hikes and ordered my usual regular medium. First, they're too long and second, they're surprisingly too tight. It's as if they didn't consider the extra layer when constructing. I'm returning and not reordering because the $6.50 per order return is just not worth it.

The fit was great but the drawstring is so stretchy is does nothing to actually hold up the pants. I think I'd almost prefer belt loops with a proper belt.

My only complaint is about the material. It pills easily, especially after being washed. I prefer the 98% cotton ripstock lined pants.

My purchase was a Lg after reading other reviews. A little on the big size as I wear a Med. in the unlined. However, my rating is due to the color. I purchased the raisin brown. This is not a brownish color in the least. After wearing the pant in good daylight I see they are an ugly dark mauve. (Probably the reason for the sale price). So disappointed. I'll keep them as I bought for the warmth. LLB please do a better job of color description. Or make a true brown pair.
