I ordered my usual size XXL but it was way too small and XXL is usually slightly loose in me. The build quality and the materials were excellent, but unfortunately I had to return it and being that they don't make this in a true to size XXL or a XXXL I will have to live without it. Would have given 5 stars if it was true to size.

I was surprised about how warm this jacket is. I wore it on a rainy, windy 38 day and stayed warm & dry. Still wearing it during mild winter weather, too. That's about all I ask of a jacket like this one. Note that the fit is a bit snug as others have noted. It's fine on me, but if you have a beer belly or husky shoulders/torso, better size up. The hood is overly generous as others have noted, but again I'm fine with it. Helps keep my face dry and I can easily wear a ball cap underneath it. Despite what one commenter said, there is indeed an inside pocket. All in all, I'm really happy with this jacket. Although at this price point, the shell should be waterproof instead of water resistant.

This is a very nice jacket. It's suitable for colder temperatures as well as moderately cold temperatures.

I was looking for a light weight but warm hooded coat and this one came the closest to meeting my requirements. I like the exterior shell fabric, the fleece lining that was also lines the hood, the extra insulation in the sleeves, the overall style, and the fact that there is absolutely no hook and loop (aka velcro) closures anywhere on this coat. I would like it even better if the hood was a little bit smaller, the exterior pockets were a little larger/deeper, and it was a little roomier in the underarms and shoulders. The only other complaint I have is the sizing. I typically wear a medium in most upper body garments but had to return that size for a large because it was way too tight, especially in the chest and arms. Perhaps the coat could be made in both a slim fit and a regular fit like many other garments are. I certainly would have been willing to pay a little more for a regular fit option. For those reasons, I can't give it 5 stars but it certainly is the best coat like this I've found.

I like this jacket so far. For me it's good down to temps in the 40's which met my expectation. I like the fit and with the zipper all the way up it does a good job at blocking the wind from going down your neck. I wish it was Waterproof instead of water resistant and for this price point I think it should be, but otherwise it's a new favorite.

It's been sufficiency warm here that I've only worn this coat once . It was fine . Very light . I will be interested to see how it fares when it gets really cold ..

Hubs is always a medium. This medium did not fit. Disappointed to have to pay return shipping. Llbean should denote the sizing discrepancy. Thanks!

Be ware, this jacket runs on the small side. It is nice and warm so instead of returning, I gave it away.

I DO like the coat - but .... Insulation when cold sounds and feels like wax paper .... Side pocket openings are small - it's not real easy to put in your hand and never will with a glove. Material is of such texture that it will pick up and hold any dust or fine dirt and must be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Do these jackets run small for their size? The size I purchased is usually the size I wear, however this jacket was way to small for me!! Couldn't zip the thing!! Bummer now I have to return it!

Quality is very good but the size runs small. I have 3 LL Bean jackets all in the same size and this one is smaller than all my other 3. Does not make sense to me. I am ordering the next larger size and hope that fits. I don't like that I have to pay for the return considering the inconsistency with my other 3 jacket from Bean.

The jacket is well made like all of the LL Bean products I have purchased but is not as warm as advertised. According to the product description it falls in the middle of the warm, warmer, warmest spectrum and is touted a s a 3 season jacket. I would urge LL Bean to reconsider this. At 25 degrees, the jacket is simply not adequate even when a sweatshirt is worn underneath. Great for Spring or Fall but not Winter. Since it is good for 2 of 3 seasons (3 season jacket) I give it 3 of 5 stars.

My new winter coat (size 3X) is a bit small - more like a 2X.

Nice jacket at a good price. But there seems to be no insulation on the chest or back, just in the arms. It was not very warm. I have a similar LL Bean jacket purchased 20 years ago that is much warmer.

This is a great jacket in theory, but the sizing is way off. I usually wear an XL in LL Bean. So I ordered a size up because of jacket over layers. This is still too small even when wearing just a shirt under. I have to go up two sizes from my usual. Then there's no option on my order email for exchange so I have to return it and then buy another to wait another week to get it.

I bought the jacket to replace an old XXL Warm-up Jacket. The XXL Bomber Hooded Jacket did not fit me the same way - it was larger in the body and the sleeves were about 2.5" to 3" too long. It was probably a size issue at the factory? I haven't had problems with sizing in the past.

Comfy, but hood is made for a head the size of a pumpkin. Pull it up and it comes all the way down over my eyes. And I am of average size. Not good

I really like the look of the jacket. Although. The exterior of the jacket is super thin. Afraid to do anything outdoors with it, a branch could easily tear it. Also the the fleece lining is super thin. For the price, it's not very substantial.... Like buying potatoes chips, what am I paying for, AIR?? I'm 6'1" and skinny, purchased the large tall after reading reviews it ran small. Lengths are good but the baggy waistline will let cool air in. A simple solution that would accommodate all sizes is a pull string for the waistline. Again for the price, it doesn't hold up...

This is a sharp-looking jacket that felt nice, and I really would have liked to wear it--but the item I received was ridiculously undersized. I ordered size XXX-Large, and the item I received was marked with that label, but it was measurably smaller than the XXL jacket I've been wearing. I used a fabric measuring tape on the item I received and found it was only 28.5" in front length and 54.5" interior chest circumference. Both are smaller than what's listed as standard XXL for LL Bean. This difference was so great that I suspected the item I received might have been defective, but LL Bean couldn't confirm one way or another so I just returned it. So I'd caution buyers to be wary of the sizing, at least for XXL-to-XXXL. A real shame, because otherwise the jacket is very appealing.

I bought the XL, and it should be my size, but it was too snug for my tastes. Looked good but I like it better with a little more room for layers. Traded for the XXL and I like the room in it but the sleeves feel like they belong to a much taller person. I like the hood and the weight, but the fit frustrates me.
