Fantastic sweater, don't change a thing. It repels light rain and snow and blocks reasonable wind. Easy to care for and it looks good. Easy to put on and take off. I could run outside to care for animals in a Colorado blizzard and stay warm and toasty for an hour or more. I've had the vest for years, but this is even better.

wow! What a great product. Im 6 5 feet tall and the fit for me is perfect. I know some complain of the lining in the sleeves but to me it just makes it easier to put on. Great color, great fit and ,most of all , very warm and comfortable. China did something right.

I really like this sweater. This is my first real wool sweater, because I was always worried about wool being itchy. I wear this over a full sleeve shirt/tee, and it works! The collar is microfiber. The best thing about this material is that it seems to have a temperature versatility - it keeps me comfortable whether I am indoor or outdoor. Size: I usually buy XL everywhere else, but I found that with LL Bean, you should actually go with the size chart (chest measurement) rather than the L/XL designation. At LL Bean, Large size fits best for me.

Originally ordered the Commando Deep Woods Green Sweater. Returned it mostly because it was not a color match (dark brown, no green). So, tried the Waterfowl Deep Loden and found it an infinitely better choice. Despite extra cost, the Marino wool is softer, much lighter and more comfortable, the garment look more stylish and the color match perfect. Pay the extra $30.

This sweater is a winner - sharp looking, well made, and warm and comfortable. Its a midweight, which means that it's not as smooth or dressy as some sweaters, but don't let that fool you. The attention to detail and trim makes it very attractive. And I prefer its weave and weight to the thinness of some of the pullovers you can get today, The color that I got was called 'Sable,' which is a light tan (almost an off-white) with brown trim. As I say, very sharp.

I wear the sweater for winter golf and outdoor activities / exercise. The sweater allows good freedom of movement, is warm and wind resistant.

Although it is a little itchy, my son likes it and wears it often enough that I bought him another one. It looks very good on and washes well. I usually remove it from the dryer while it is still a little damp.

I bought two for my husband a year ago. He loved it. And so did my son. Seeing how well it looked after a season of living in these, I bought another. Normally within a few weeks most sweaters fray around the neck for my husband...not this.

Second purchase of this sweater. I bought one for my son for Christmas last year and was so impressed (and a little envious) that I bought one on sale for myself. Great quality, fit and style. Very warm and looks great with all variety of casuals. Highly recommend.

I'd been looking for a heavy sweater with a collar and half-zip and this turned out to be great. It's heavy, looks good, a perfect fit.

This sweater is very warm yet soft to the touch. No itchy feel. Great for any outdoor activity. I didn't think it fit big as some have said. If you wear it over a dress shirt, then it definitely fits true to size.

My wife gave me a Waterfowl Sweater for Christmas. It is the most comfortable sweater I have ever worn. No matter what you wear under it, shirt, t-shirt or nothing, it just feels good. I've ordered another one in a different color. Highly recommend it.,

LL. Bean quality through out very warm and soft. This is a heavy sweater very well made and very neat looking. Great for the woods or going into town. It don't itch worn over a short sleeve shirt and is very well made. Also a great layering piece. You cant go wrong with this sweater.

Beautiful, warm, vintage-looking sweater. Handsome detailing and fit. My son found this sweater truly warm and comfortable while out in the Colorado plains at 4 degree weather. An excellent product.

I bought this in navy for my husband for Christmas. Great fit, it's actually really slimming. Soft, he loves it! And so do I!

I'm a short guy with a little pouch. Purchased the attractive blue sweater in medium from the moment I took it out of the package, I could tell this was a great purchase. It fits nicely and is perfect for those chilly like mornings so it replaces the coat. But when I got to work, I found it comfortable enough to wear for hours before I warmed up. Very nice! Got a few compliments on the looks. Thumbs up on this one. I know its going to be one of my favorite sweaters to wear during the Fall and Winter for many years to come. My next decision is what color should I buy next?

This is one of the best LL Bean sweaters that I own. The Waterfowl Sweater can be worn on its own or with a flannel shirt underneath on cold days. The material is very warm but not too heavy. The collar lining is very comfortable without the "scratchiness" that some wool sweaters have. I like the freedom of movement with this sweater; it does not "ride up" when bending over and has good articulation in the shoulder/sleeve areas. I found the sizing to be true and natural for me. This sweater looks great with a pair of jeans or can be worn with a casual dress pant. The sweater performed as advertised in 30 degree weather with a light mist falling for most of the day; I stayed warm and dry.

Great slim cut but wide enough to wear over a flannel shirt. Beautifully made and warm, perfect for the Canadian winter.

This is a very nice sweater. It is soft but substantial and very warm. I have some trouble making the collar behave, but that's because it is new. I find this sweater the perfect complement over a cotton turtleneck on these cool fall days when it is really cold in the house.

One of the best fall and winter sweaters I own. Keeps out both water and wind, nice close fit and well made. Love it.

My partner loves the Waterfowl sweater. He has a wide chest and shoulders and the sweater's details of a different knit pattern really show off on him handsomely. It took years for me to find a sweater that fit him as well as this one! I am so glad it came from LL Bean because I know you'll always make the classics, well.

Great sweater - warm and comfortable. I did order a size smaller than usual as recommended in reviews.

Other than the size running big, as I had to return for a smaller size, I am very satisfied with my sweater.
