As a long time customer and admirer of the consistent quality merchandize L.L. Bean sells I was greatly disappointed with this last purchase , the cotton material was awful , felt man made. Would not recommend this sweater.

I have worn LLBean Commando Sweaters over 30 years - but they are no longer the same. The sweater I just bought is of a inferior weave - its loose and fits very poorly. Traditionally, Commando Sweaters fit snugly, have tight waists and are form fitting - really handy in brush or when rock climbing. They were also made in the USA - but no longer. I noticed that the sweater was made in China. Will not buy one again - and I dont recommend this product to anyone - very disappinted.

I have worn LL Bean Commando Sweaters for decades - but I bought a new one and its trash. The REAL thing is tight woven, close fitting and keeps it shape...but those were AMERICAN MADE. I am beyond disappointed at the formless rag that they are now selling from China. Its trash and I do not recommend it at all - Truly a bad move by whatever person decided profit mattered more than product. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. ITS CHINA JUNK

I seldom am disappointed by LL Bean products. This sweater was a notable exception. It is supposed to be Merino wool. If it is, it is the roughest and scratchiest merino wool I have ever experienced. I couldn't wear it.

This is the second merino wool garment from LL Bean that I have returned. There is a serious problem with the processing of the wool that renders it scratchy and uncomfortable. I have never had a problem wearing wool, until encountering these products. I'm a sheep breeder, so I hope I know whereof I speak . . .

This is a nice looking sweater, but the wool is very scratchy. Even with a t-shirt underneath, it is still very abrasive on the neck.

My husband really liked the look of this sweater but unfortunately, it was probably the most uncomfortable sweater ever! It was extremely itchy and made for someone who is very tall. Not worth the money.

I love the style of this sweater, however, it is very cheaply made. The feel of the sweater is more like cheap acrylic yarn than the "100% merino lambs' wool" they claim it is. It doesn't really fit right. Its itchy because of the cheap material, the sleeves are very long and are made to fold over at the cuff. The patches on the elbow really do not line up correctly because the extra long arms. Its more like a home made sweater someone knitted for you as they learn how to knit because of its strange sizing and awful cheap material. Not worth the price. Very disappointed and certainly not the quality that made L.L. Bean famous.
