The first wash left ALOT of lint. Many people have asked where it was purchased. Very cozy in fall with a vest.

I wear this all winter long. I wear an Underarmour Metal shirt underneath for cooler weather. It keeps warm even when wet, keeps it's shape after a full year. Worth having more than one.

I bought this a month ago washed it and it shrunk I would not recommend it yes did read the tage

He says the shirt is itchy, he would have to wear a long sleeve tshirt under it to be able to wear it. Also, the waistband is a bit on the tight side

This seems to run small and arms are tight for my husband

Apparently a lot of people are color blind the picture shows a brown sweater even though the refers to green, that is why a picture is worth a thousand words.

Nice sweater BUT literally fell apart at the seams after about 4 normal wearings! Should NEVER happen with an LLBean product! Replacement was smooth but worried that good old LLB is losing its focus on quality.

Excellent quality, however the sizing guide is off. I am 6'2", 250lbs and have long arms. According to the sizing guide, I needed a Tall. Upon arrival the Tall was excessively long in body and sleeves. Returned for a Regular, which fits correctly. So, don't buy a Tall unless your 6'4" or taller IMO.

I bought this to wear this fall and winter as a layer when day hiking in Pennsylvania. It's fantastic. Warm, comfy and tough. True to size. I would recommend. The deepwoods green Heather is more like brown.

Purchased a tall large as I am 6'1", fits well in the shoulders and everywhere else but is a bit too long. Planning to hem the bottom. A regular large would be too tight in the shoulders and too short at the arms for my taste. "Tall" buyers beware.

It is a great product but why do you not have these in a XXXL TALL??? You have it in a FULL ZIPPER but not this or crew neck.

I liked the style. The sweater had a few flaws. (1) a strong stinky chemical smell out of the package that would not go away after airing it out. (2) I decided to wash it in woollite and the water was very gray and dirty looking. (3) After washing in gently, the wool on the arms started pilling and the entire thing got a fuzzy look. After that though it felt great and fit much better. What was a too tight fit at the beginning became very nice. I shouldn't have to go through this long process.

Meh. Warm sweater. Expected better quality from LLBean.

Lovely but sweater has a strong and unpleasant smell that no amount of hand washing with Woolite or other gentle detergents can touch.

I was really excited to receive this sweater. The color is more brown than the image led me to expect. I am also concerned about the itchiness of the material. Hopefully after a couple of washes it will soften up.

Wanted to buy a bigger size but you will not have until March. Won't need it then. So disappointed. Problem with lLL bean is that no 2 things you buy can be bought in the same size. Lovely stuff but keep returning

I returned the sweater in that I was not happy with the way the bottom of the sweater hung. The picture clearly shows that the bottom is not finished off and I missed that detail. It simply hangs down. The sizing is appropriate for me and the feel of the wool is great, but it does not present a finished look. Most military sweaters have a ribbing at the bottom to provide a better fit and finished appearance.

Returned: Item had a large hole in the under arm.

My wife ordered this for me as a gift. Sweater is well made. Itchy for merino wool, but still wearable. The color is supposed to be green, but it is more like a tree bark brown. It looks nothing like the green one shown. I can't believe LL Bean would allow such a discrepancy. There isn't even a brown color option to choose from. If you would like a brown wool sweater, order the green one. You'll love it. Just wear a long sleeve tee under it.

I bought this because ive read high quality merino wool isnt itchy. This is my first wool sweater so i had never felt what wool feels like (itchy). I decided to get it because i need a thick and warm sweater. After trying it on, I wouldnt say its itchy. Its more like a thousand tiny fibers are poking me. It feels almost identical to fiberglass insulation when its stuck in your skin. I guess this merino wool isnt very high quality. Im going to try one of the tricks ive found on google for making wool no longer "itch". Other than the itch, this is an awesome sweater. Its thick and heavy weight. I can imagine it would be very warm.

Seems like a very high quality sweater. A couple of problems though. First the site seems to default to a larger rather than regular which I didn't catch. It is listed as a Deep Wood Heather Green - it is brown. Not brownish/green but brown. It is a nice brown if that is what you want but the color name is very misleeading. As expected with this type of wool, it is very itchy.
